Lots of things have been going up in price and it’s sad to see. We can still find pop-ups pre-owned for a cheaper price (usually) so I’m not too worried about it :>
You can literally find pop up parades at retail price everywhere. At be you should actually look. 99% of pop up parades aren’t limited, they will be restocked. People should be patient. It’s a figure, you can live without it for a few weeks or months
Part of the appeal for pups (at least for me) is that tatio and other prize companies only make mainly rem, ram, miku, and other characters with an abundance of figures. Although these are great characters that many people love, many people also want other characters. Unfortunately the average fan can’t buy a scale of every Nekopara girl, or a scale of every member of fairy tail. That’s why lots of people like pup’s, but the quality needs to improve and so do the prizes. From where it stands now I see this line becoming even more hated as they decrease in quality and heighten in price. From the ones I own I really like them, but from some of the other shows that got some figures made from that line the pictures I’ve seen look awful. Please good smile, if you need to raise the prices that’s fine but make the figures worth the higher price.
That's definitely a great point, prize figures often do stick with only the popular stuff so the appeal can be totally lost if you aren't interested in those series. I don't blame them since people wont stop buying these prize figures, but the variety is much slimmer compared to pups. It really is a great idea for a line of figures but with all the complaints I hear about them, something needs to improve now that the price was increased.
@@ZuccoFigures For me it's about the fact that many of these characters don't have other affordable figures or easy to obtain figures and they are by far better than the crane game prize figures- it's debatable whether they are better than the kuji prizes but we have no other figures for Gleipnir, No Guns Life, etc. and that's why I really, really hope this line sticks around.
@@authorRisenfromash Best way to have that happen is to buy the ones you like to support them. I always wonder how successful pups actually are though, just because they make so many of them and we always hear complaints. It's weird though, because even though they made this statement about raising prices, this week I saw Levi was put up for sale for 3900 yen instead of 4800. Very strange, but I don't think anyone would complain lol
The thing that appeals to me about pop up parade figures are the poses/designs for a lot of them. Mako being a perfect example. I don’t end up spending much time looking at the few I have decided to pick up though and they basically just serve the purpose of representing something I’m a fan of and filling some empty shelf space of my less important shelf’s.
Don't forget Hololive PUP (Pekora and Miko) were already more expensive than usual PUPs, i guess they can no longer can call them cheap and affordable, i wanted to get few other holo pups but with price bump and quality getting worse i just wish that Taito, Banpresto or Sega will also start making their figures. Also BiCute Bunnies feel like best value for buck atm, for about $30 you get 30cm bunny i plan to get Supersonico Blue Rabbit it looks really cool, other from the line are mixed bag - most Miku bunnies looks nice but Street's ver hair looks flat and ugly compared to the original artwork it may be an interesting challenge to repaint it better than factory. With this change they will cost $60 in EU at this point i'd rather pick single scale figure for $160-180.
My only PUP figure is Ruby Rose which is a pretty good one. I don't mind the simple hexagonal bases. I recently have preordered Kazuma and Tanya but for the old prices so there I'm fine. I am also eyeing the King Bradley one that is not up for preorder yet. He is not the simplest and smallest of PUP figures so it isn't that bad as if you'd have to pay the increased price for Mako I guess.
the issue with PUPs is absolutely quality control, look at shainsaw man aki and hemino then compare it to chainsaw man kobeni (kobeni looks way way better while aki looks half melted in the face) im not a fan of hololive but lets behonest hololive PUPs have GREAT quality and i understand them being 10 dollars more its like they put out 20% crap ones, 50% "okay" ones, 20% okay ones, and 10% great ones (the newer ones especially) and i dont understand how they release crap ones, to make money they have to be appealing atleast, lets all be honest the demon slayer inosuke looks by far the worse of all PUPs but rozen maiden shinku looks great (and the red base is PERFECTLY colored) and the grips of some PUPs is the bases yes, personally i recommend doing custom bases for them with clay/wood and paint also the "previously released prices unchanged" still changed on the US store
@@authorRisenfromash Momo Belia Deviluke, at first I want to collect all the to love ru pop up parade. I never have one before so I want to try buying one first. The hair is bad, some rough edges all over the figure. Its better to hunt 2nd hand figurines with the same prices or maybe some nendo.
4800 yen isn't that bad. It's only £29.08 in my currency, and that's actually cheaper than the pup's I've bought before which were in Gray Fullbuster which I got for nearly £45 (which I may have overpaid for) and Hinata Shouyou for about the same price as this new price give or take a few pennies. Personally don't mind this price change but I don't really collect pup's and am thinking of selling the ones I have.
I think while you are technically right in that its not a huge increase since the prices were always on the lower side, a sudden 20-25% percent increase is still notable enough on top of the shipping fees going up as well. For me it just means even more money for figures I already wasn't sold on, but that's just my opinion on their quality. If you don't mind the new prices, then hey that's perfectly fine too
I only own one Pop up Parade Figurine. It's Sukuna (aka Yuuji) from Jujutsu Kaisen, but only because I paid for him second Hand 20€ and not 45€. To be frankly I don't like the quality that much. I think he will be my only Pop Up Parade Figurine in my collection. Maybe I'm thinking about the new pop up Levi coat Version, but I'm not sure yet 🤔
I've preordered Levi. Let's see how it turns out. I've seen lots of complaints about pup so I'm kinda worried, but personally I don't own any pup yet. It's like what they say, gotta see it for myself and make my own judgement
I usually buy pop up parade on characters that doesn’t really have a scale figure. Genos pop up parade is disappointed cause his mouth is a bit low. But sessgomaru and victor in love x evol is pretty good for the price haha but yeah they a hit and miss
I think their QC is going to the new L/XL line. It seems like more and more PUP that have come out lately are getting worse. Now not all PUP are bad. There was that Spice Wolf that came out many love. However, we had Zero Two drop and dear lord, it's bad. Very bad.
I saw the Zero Two recently and you aint kidding. It's insane how they thought that was fine to release to the public. It really does feel a bit random which ones are going to turn out good or not
@@ZuccoFigures inosuke pop up parade is the worse one ever made the dead space PUP looks great, i got it and love it, as well as the shinku rozen maiden
Ive had no issues with the 2 pops i have, gonna keep ordering since they actually have characters i like without the cheesy or sexualized designs along with a hefty price tag
I'm sure it's because of plastic price increase, with YYB Miku being the first victim of that, having a subpar release compared to it's prototype and all.
its really not that bad, and sorry to say this is just a reality of the current world position. Especially given how much Japan is struggling without their tourist infrastructure. Prices for everything is going up and will be way worse by the end of the year. All in all the price just means some of us will just have to buy one less figure a year.
I dont disagree with anything you're saying honestly, I just made this video since it was a current event that GSC felt the need to give a special update about, and how I felt about it when reading it at the time.
PUPs are already terrible quality and a waste of money imo, but this makes it even worse for the people that like them. I find it so funny that goodsmile is planning to release those huge ones and acting like 23k yen is "affordable". Why not drop that and get a super high quality FREEing or BINDing 1/4 scale instead.
