Karina - you are amazing. So clear and precise, not leaving out details - explaining in a calm pace - you make me want to drop everything and just run to my sewing nook!!
Princess seams are so flattering and now thanks to you I will try convert my favorite patterns with into curvy, beautiful princess seams!
Thanks again so much!
Super nice upload. Love it. Thank you for sharing!
Great tutorial, thanks Karina.
Wow! I never would have guessed it's that easy to do.
Awesome lesson! Thank you Karina 🎉❤😊
Master Class!
Thank you. Beautiful tutorial, and extra tips. I prefer princess seams to darts. I hope to do this very soon.
Thank you so much for this awesome and informative tutorial
If you could would you please do a tutorial about how to blend sizes on a dress pattern with princess seams
What an excellent video Karina - thank you very much. Amazing💕💕💕💕
Karina, you have outdone yourself with this video by providing so much information, with visuals and wonderful editing. You keep it so upbeat and fun and inspiring.
Karina, the context you provide with teaching your techniques is what makes your content so interesting. Some demo, but don’t explain why or they use the busiest or darkest fabric that you can’t see what they are trying to do. Your approach has helped me naturally problem solve. I recently had to do an empire FBA. I figured it out based on my understanding of FBAs from your channel. It worked (but different). Sewing can be limitless if you have knowledge. The old me would have quit on the top.
Forgot to add in my comments: knit fabric, interesting pleated neckline. My FBA test. Ugh!
Wonderful tutorial! I always find yours easier to understand 🤗
Princess seams always produce the best fit on me, but I’m reluctant to change things. I’m definitely going to give this a go now.
Thank you for the tip. I had never considered using darts to maximize my fabric.
I’ve made tops from little pieces thanks to princess seams. It’s why I’d add them at the back too.
Thank you! I am sooooo looking forward to trying this 😀
I love this so much!
Seeing you do it, it makes perfect sense. Beautiful garments! Thanks, Karina!
I’m glad it’s doable :) I like to keep it simple :)
How amazing is this, princess seams are so flattering that. You’re very clever Karina, thank you for sharing. I live in Australia and am glad I stayed up late and saw your post.
I’m glad you liked it 😀😀
This is such a great video! You make everything seem achievable. I'm going to come back and rewatch when I get a chance to try this!
Thanks sooo much for sharing your knowledge, I always learn so much from you!❤️❤️❤️
Love your techniques videos Karina. This is particularly inspiring!
wow, you are amazing
You are extremely talented! So much excellent information! You’ve helped me up my sewing game!
I hope you give this a go 😀😀
@@LiftingPinsandNeedles I absolutely will!
Karina you're fabulous. I really love princess seams and and having just recently fitted the Hana Tank to my measurements, I really want to try and make the change from bust dart to princess seam. You make it look very easy. So well explained. Thanks xx
The Hana is perfect for this :)
Thank you Karina this was VERY educational! I was going to ask you about the SA but you answered it. 🤭
Thanks
Thanks for showing, so useful tips :-) - and what a timing, I have just watched the 2 videos you made about how to draft a basic bodies (2017), and searched for the one that showed this alteration, and could not find it ? And than this one popped up - quite fun. Spot on for me.
I had some videos from back then that had terrible audio and lighting. I didn’t even have a camera or tripod. That’s why a few are not there anymore.
Oh, the teckno-thing is not a problem, the content is the important part - I still enjoy watching the older videos , refashions and pattern-alterations, all my jam. I try to use whats on hand, and locally available. Very insp. :-)
Hi Karina could I pls ask a random question. Why would you chose the higher bust measurements instead of the bust measurements. South Africa I d love your sewing and the tips
Because that will give you a better fit at the neckline and shoulders. This is important for those with a larger cup size.
Thanks!
You’re welcome 😀😀
😍
How do you compensate for asymmetrical breast size or shape when modifying for princess seams? Would it just need to be completed individually?
I’d modify each half individually in the original pattern with darts and label the resulting side front pieces right and left. The Center front would be the same.
@@LiftingPinsandNeedles Thanks. I wasn't sure what I needed for the center fronts. I've followed your methods to perfect regular darts so I'm game to try something new!
Great video. If you have to clip the curve because of the fabric when would you finish the edge with the serger. Thanks. Your videos are very thorough.
I’d finish after clipping, there
Would be little “gaps” but at least the serger thread would be intact.
