In Mai 2021 I set off to cross the Atlantic alone and non-stop from Nassau in the Bahmas to Horta on the Azores, Portugal. It took my 25 days to sail the 2700 nautical miles on my Wharram Tiki26.
I fight against bad weather, big waves, technical problems and the biggest of al problems, being alone for such a long time.
This is part one out of two.
incredible how this small 26' catamaran is probably more comfortable than a 40' monohaul in those conditions.
What a great adventure. Your tiki 26 is one of the nicest I have seen. The pod integrates into the hulls nicely and adds a very usable space. You sure had a lot of good food for the voyage, good for keeping your spirits up. I look forward to your second video.
looks small but the twin hulls are also used for extra storage 👍
Tiki 26solo that really is sailing ! No padding between you and the elements! , good filming , you always seem in good spirits , not phased by things . Well done you really caught the spirit of things .
Hey, so genial, dass du dein grosses Abenteuer mit uns teilst. Unglaublich, deine Erlebnisse.
Tuusig Dank!
Interesting, but the subtitles stopped and I had no idea what you were saying 😮
Que a aventura camaradas, parabéns!
cool crzy horse. nice one
Wonderful to share your experience. Thank you!
Maravilhoso! Obrigado por compartilhar!!
What a dream.
I met you guys around may 2020 at Morenos mountain, in Vila Velha, ES, Brasil in the midle of pandemic, and by hearing you talking i wondered How you got in Brazil with Airliners on the grownd..
:) Yes I remember! in fact also the international arrival of boats was forbidden but luckily we checked in before that.
Ich hätte so eine Angst dass mir die Obstkiste über Bord fliegt 🍋🍐🍑 So nice.
Great videos! You mention using a rope to slow you down during high waves. By how much did this slow you down, or keep you from surfing on steep tall waves? How thick was your rope? And you mention tying loops at the end?
Thanks for your comment. I used between 20 to 40 meters of rope, around one centimetre in diameter. At one point I attached one line in a loop, each end attached to one hull, this slowed me down the most. But using two individual ropes allowed me to slow one hull down more than the other which was useful when sailing in an angle to the waves, in this case I had a bit of jib up and just wanted to avoid the surf.
muito, muito bem!
💜
Yes my friend, youtube algorithm just give me the opportunity to see your videos! What's up? Where is Wayan and what are you doing those days?
Juuuulio, tudo bem? Are you in Guyana? I did many jobs as a skipper this year, all around in europe. I sailed Wayan mostly in Spain, but now he is out of the water ready for winter. What about Venus? Fair Winds to you!
Wharram are so cool. How did you find living on a tiki 26 ? and ocean crossing on a tiki 26 ? Does it handle rough seas ? ... love your channel
It can be a wet ride, but the seas I encountered were handled well by the Tiki. I never had more than max. 3m of waves…
Very cool
Where's part 2? did you make it? (the voyage? or did you sink mid-atlantic? the recorded tapes found floating on the surface...) i mean, did you make part 2 yet?

That’s part two, but sadly I didn’t put any subtitles at all yet... in progress
No sprakenzie 🤪
Muito bom
Awesome! I need to figure how to translate to English, maybe thru transcript??
May ask how many feet is your boat?
@@simonanigan5141 26ft.
Would love to know what you are saying best of luck
start to feel the Swiss-German flow through you, ... just let it seep into you... i reckon a transatlantic voyage the 2 of you and you'd be adept by Horta...
Would be great if it had an English transcript.
Thank you for your comment, this motivates me to continue the translation. Fair winds to you
English translation stops @11:25
Really wish you were doing this in english.totally understand that it's not your home language but it makes it hard to follow.fair winds!
Yeah some English subtitles would be amazing. Such an inspiring adventure
@@harrybyrne2239 Strange development in that I had English captions for the 1st ten minutes or so, then captions stopped.
I'm grateful for what sounds like Schwitze Deuuuuutsche.... keine annung becomes "khaOnichhh" etc... funny to hear in the middle of the ocean, especially as you get funny with language while being alone... it's helpful for people learning your language and dialect.
The atmosphere is not quite
is this swiss german?
Yes :)
непонятно вроде местами по немецки говорит но с акцентом а местами по фински или по шведски шото типа скандинавское ....
швитзе-немецки!
more fishing and women in bikinsi ==== ????!!!!!!!
Bad german speaking.
you seem rather French by your name, and why do you call yourself bad?
this is not German, this is Swiss slang
