  • Recovery test for my custom made styrofoam rescue boat. This is a back-up in case it is too windy and the swamp dawg airboat will not work at all.
    made from scratch styrofoam hull, car esc 18a, brushless 3000kv motor, 38 metal prop standard servo, door hinge for rudder. 2.4ghz receiver, 7.4 lipo battery (this are all spare parts laying around)

    This is a great idea. Makes recovery way simpler especially for any far away mishaps. Other designs require docking method that may be further out of of normal eyesight. This circle around and stare technique would be more effective at those extreme distance recoveries versus the docking system.

    I have just been thinking about recovery of my toy boat since buying one. What a good idea you have there. So simple but effective because it could be used for any sized model. Well done.

    Now that is a very smart way to rescue a boat. Kind of a water lasso

    Gotta say, I really like the simple design. The other designs seem to be way over-complicated and take up much space to tote around.

    Great stuff, I bought a Joysways Madshark and outfitting a line with a ball to retrieve my boats as well. Sometimes really hard to cast a fishing pole that far, these small boats make more sense.

    • @greco_sti_s2k
      @greco_sti_s2k  3 года назад +1

      The string in- between foam/styro will catch/hook to anything hanging under water once you make a sharp turn. ✌

    Catching the rudder of a right-side-up boat is easy, now try that with your precious and expensive 32''-48'' up-side-down boat.

      Marc Poletti it catches my stubby antenna when its flipped upside down. Or i can use the push technique.

      It works good on upside down boats as well. I flipped my Traxxas M41 over and used my Aquacraft tug to retrieve it with a string dragging behind. The string climbed up the fuselage and caught the rudder just like it does when upright.
