It featured a dazzling array of top contemporary female vocalists singing pop & jazz standards from the 30's - 50's and is some of the best music you will experience.

One of my favorite CDs. Every performance a gem.
The orchestra and arrangement are fabulous ....and Sheryl Crow can match ! Bravo !
Must agree on both counts. This was a fabulous album that just keeps getting better with time!
I adore this CD and play it a lot! The old standards are awesome and to hear contemporary artists render their own version is great! Thank you, Don Henley!
WOW, just wow!!
As I have said many times... this is a great collection of songs by an exceptional group of Ladies of Song.
II play this album when I'm doing housework, I love it.
ScuBarry, your visual presentations for these cuts are exquisite.
Sheryl Crow at the Wiltern Theater in Los Angeles -- a stunning perfomance: Sheryl, joined by Mark Isham (horn), with Vince Mendoza conducting the all-star production. Other great performances that evening: Shawn Colvin (But Beautiful) and Trisha Yearwood (A Good Guy).
Que preciosidade 🙌
The best!!
From Crow's early albums, I thought she had a bunch of catchy songs, but couldn't really sing very well. I came across this album by accident and didn't think much of Crow's song, but wow did it grow on me. I think her version compares very well to the versions done by Holliday and Fitzgerald.
As I understand it several of the women "went outside" their normal comfort zone with some of the song selections, and pulled it off very well.
Another cut from this album that made me say "Wow" was Stevie Nicks version of At Last.
color me surprised
And to think AT&T distributed this album for free trying to sell internet service.
I actually have AT&T now (a recent change) but didn't then, the album didn't convince me to change (but it certainly got my attention!).
That's how I got it, thank goodness. One of my fave CD's ever.
To sing this song well, you have to have a controlled tear in your voice. Too many performers overemote and it is distracting. Sheryl gets it.
It is definitely masterful.
