Game Sins started With 2013's Tomb Raider, so sinning Rise of The Tomb Raider was a no brainer. However, I probably could have saved myself a lot of time by just reuploading my original Tomb Raider video, as the plot is almost the exact same. Here's GAME SINS | Everything Wrong With Rise of the Tomb Raider.

Indiana Jones and the rise of the uncharted Sequel.
woops, forgot Assassin's Creed.
+Mad Hatter
How about Indiana Croft and the rise of the uncharted creed.
ZShogan Perfect.
Exact
Sin 87: They don't know that Jacob is immortal. No one knows because he keeps pulling a McLeod on people.
Sin 121: Apparently you weren't paying attention or missed a few journal entries in the game. There is one that explains that when you kill a deathless one he turns to ash and after a few hours a full Hellraiser revival starts where the ashes turn into bones then the muscles come back etc. until the killed is alive again.
Yeah, that never happened with the Deathless Ones in-game, though.
Pulling a McLeod?
@@aaqibsalim1568 It's from Highlander. Whenever the protagonist Connor McLeod stays to long in one place and people might notice that he doesn't age, he stages his death and shows up in different place under a different name mostly pretending to be his own descendant.
@@Quotenwagnerianer ohhhhh that's pretty cool. I might check that out. Thanks!
I always wondered what would happen if they were crushed XD or frozen XD
I have to disagree with sin 111. You say that Jonah is yelling into a voice recorder, but the text above states that it is a radio transmission that was intercepted by Trinity, meaning they're the ones who recorded it
good catch. Totally missed that
YURP! Pepperidge Farms remembers....
Yeah that kinda messed with me
But it has the looks of a voice recorder.
@@Daniel-nn8mr So they recorded the interception onto a voice recorder. It was still not recorded directly by Jonah.
Does Lara ever have to take a crap or piss? If she's holding them for who knows how long, maybe days, she must have extreme case of cystitis and constipation as well as probably had died from blood poisoning and some other diseases relating to intestine blockage. Okay, she probably would've just died.
"Jacob, it looks like we have the upper hand!"
... It DOES?
Comedy gold.
Lol that was great!
Just for pointers though: Joan of Arc was probably there because of a myth that after she was burned at the stake, her heart was found in the ashes still beating. Not sure if that counts as immortality, but if Jacob's avoidance of death from bullets and other stuff counts, this could technically count as well. Her dad probably had it there as reference to the myth.

This is not Lara Croft. The real Lara Croft would indiscriminately shoot the villains before they had a chance to talk or steal something. Shooting things as a knee-jerk reaction is kinda Lara's thing
Edit: through playthroughs of the reboot games & thinking on my part, I have changed my ways & now appreciate the reboots
+Vince Shadell You do realize this is the rebooted Lara? Where they changed her character.
+Roxie ღ hence an ORIGIN story
Roxie ღ Exactly. This is not the Lara Croft we all know. This is not a badass British aristocrat who shoots first and asks never because dead men don't talk. this is a klutzy grad student that has an aversion to guns, ya know Lara Croft's whole shtick, besides giant boobs. The real Lara Croft carries dual 9mms and indiscriminately shoots anything that she wants to because she's Lara Motherfuckin' Croft.
Vince Shadell Again, ORIGIN story. She's not classic Lara yet but she's growing into the character throughout these games. Plus this Lara is much better developed as a character than Classic Lara ever really got. I mean let's face it, the Legends game trilogy did attempt some backstory, but really just shoved it aside for excess jumping and climbing
Ben Wasserman Gameplay is more important than story. When I got Tombraider 2013, I expected to be able to wield her dual 9mm pistols, flip around like a gymnast, and shoot the hell out of literally anything that moves. Classic Lara has fought two evil versions of her, a ghost, a giant spider monster with a human face, a cowboy, a kid on a skateboard spouting outdated slang, and a motherfucking T-Rex. THAT is the Lara I expected to play as. If i wanted to shoot bad guys with arrows, I'd play Legend of Zelda. I play Tombraider to riddle everything with bullets.
OMFG YES. I WAS SO BOTHERED THAT THEY DIDNT MENTION SAM
Dean Castillo They actually do mention Sam in one of Lara's therapy sessions. She doesn't want to see Lara because Lara reminds Sam of the trauma she endured on Yamatai. The makers of the game touched on this in an issue of Game Informer.
Ah, that's bullshit, Jamel. A person's hero doesn't make them remember a traumatic event--it's the people who caused the trauma or the location the trauma took place in. Square Enix should've done a better job of that.
Here's how it _really_ should have played out: Ana tries to hit on Lara after the events of the game are over, but Lara declines, saying that she's already in a relationship with Sam. Not only would Sam have gotten a name drop in the game, it would also further develop her character despite her absence and explain why she isn't in the game in the first place: Lara doesn't want to put her in a similar situation again.
r0bw00d lol no, and Lara was never in a relationship in this seres. Plus Ana was her dad’s girlfriend
bluenuttefly I’m so sick of games leaving out serious information so you can read the lore somewhere else. Pretty much “We could put that information in the game, but we want more money so we made a comic so you have to buy that AND the game to fully understand what’s going on.
@@NeonSuperNovas Say that to the studio that made Final Fantasy XV...
Wait a minute
11:26
dying of lung cancer, yet still continues to smoke... smart.
Only John Constantine can do that, and he's a cocky bastard who knows he's damned anyway. She was not.
Well, when it's terminal anyways, why not have some extra fun and make your miserable life shorter anyways.
Or on the other hand, maybe she was SO certain to find the source that she thought it wouldn't matter either way.
7:20 Lara has a handgun and has the guy in her sights, so...what the bleeping blazes is that guy doing with an ASHTRAY? Instead of, you know, tackling the thief or blocking an escape route? Was he thinking "Yeah, she is pointing a gun at him but we might need some more intimidating. How can I...aha! ASHTRAY!"
Should have sinned that ending for "Lara was already planning to shoot her, yet screams out "NO!" when she gets shot."
Well it was more like interrogation threatening then shoot. So shes upset her lead is gone
Ben Wasserman That was more the "NO!" of "Someone I like just died" not "DAMNIT MY LEAD!"
+Raiden777ify honestly those no's sound a bit alike when you're vengeful
Lol she screamed no bc her kill got stolen xD
She wasn't gonna shot her she just wanted answers and she said no because Anna died before she could tell her what happened to her father.
I think the comics covered the relationship between jonah and lara. and how jonah comes from a military background and Sam showing that himiko was able to possess her
Excellent video!
I'd add a couple of sins for the total misuse of Russian language, since every text in each "star" Lara encounters is actually the same exact sentence, yet she translates it differently each time.
And the whole game is full of some Cold War-era cyrillics in it, meaning that it's all messed up and is barely readeable for a native speaker. I mean, there are approx. 260 mln people speaking Russian in the world and they couldn't find one person to translate their texts properly?
Oh, and yeah, Kitezh is not in Siberia :)
Arvydas Brazdeikis would be great at game sins
You make the best "sin" channels, good writing gold humor and actually sins, not so much nitpicking and we feel less an advertisment made.
Why lara in this game sounds always like she's out of breathe or whispering ...
she has asthma kappa
Idk have you seen what she does and goes threw
+Crafting ranger *Through
+Crafting ranger I've seen many video game characters tv show characters and movie characters went through all kinds of craps ,she's like that one girl in high school drama class who tries so hard to stay in the spotlight .
its really fucking annoying. every word seems forced as f. i like camilla luddington but i just dont f**king get it
The flamethrower guy having a rebreather makes sense seeing as fire burns up oxygen so he'd need it to breath in enclosed spaces
Why did you not make a MGS joke at the voice recording part where he screams Lara's name?
He should have made an Archer joke. I just did a minute ago.
"One of the animators of the game spent a lot of time animating Lara's Ass. This isn't a sin, I just want to make sure it's appreciated."LMAO
You CAN use the exploding arrows for the helicopter fight. In fact its what I used for the last stage since I could not shoot the fireball in time to save my life. Kept getting disoriented and losing track of where the ball was coming from and that's if I had enough time to shoot it without the helicopter ripping me a new one as it was.
i haven't laughed as much watching a youtube video as i did this one. especially:
laras father and the supernova at 08:53 and the merchant from resident evil 4 at 9:55!
these are some great jokes. love it!
+ron burgendy Thanks Ron. Comments like yours make all of the work worth it.
I was always wondering what happened to the merchant from Resident Evil 4. Mystery solved
It always bugged me how Lara had to have the Atlas rotated to a certain point in order to determine where the city was, so how did Konstantin and Ana determine its location without doing the same thing…. gah >.< This plot is swiss cheese.
+Claire Dé Lune Full of holes?
What bugged me more was Himiko in the last game .Every bad guys on the island had heavy weapons and they have been trapped for years and none of them had even tried destroying Himiko's body ? They already knew it was her souls trapped in a dead body that caused the storms and in the end Lara finished everything with a torch? I was shocked when Himiko died by that torch ...
She didn't kill her with a torch. she killed her with Himiko's general sword. Also the place she discovered the sword she come to know that himiko's body is trapped inside a decaying body because this is what general wrote on suicide note. Also she discovered many notes from Hoshi stating that Queen will transfer her soul in her body. Mathias never understood this and moto was not only doing this to escape but also want rule with the queen.
13:54 no they dont know that. the discovery that he lied to them for so many years is actually a key plot point.
I did like the game but hell, they basically took everything from the last game without bringing anything new to the table. Which is a shame and a total waste
Nah, they changed it by making it less like a first person shooter and more like Indiana Jones. Also made a new progression system for making items and a bigger open world.
they definitely did not improve the game. i liked the whole island you can go back to a lot of places style now its way more a stupid story that you have to fo follow+ yeah very uninspired game.
Just finished RotTR. IMO it's by far not as good as the first one (loved that one). The story is worse, didn't really care for the whole crafting aspect and the open world setting.
It was fun but had horribly bland characters. Facial animation drastically improved though.
I also prefer the 2013 reboot. Had way more memorable set pieces like the fall down the rushing river.
14:02 Best part of the whole video. Best part of any video ever. Fuck alternative medicine and quack nonsense. You have only gotten better and better at this and it is fantastic to watch, Dartigan.
Also, Just Cause 3.
+Cactuar512 Thanks. That was my favorite sin from the video as well.
I believed the connotation of immortal was "doesn't age" not "doesn't die"???????????
I agree. I remember a good example in the Prince of Persia was a good dialogue
V- why do you fight, I'm immortal
P-immortal perhaps , but not invincible
Also in a document it says that the deathless rise from the ashes and live again. So yes they can be killed but they can come back alive
when dude steals her book, how does he jump out of a second story window, hit the ground, get up and run away all in the 1.2 seconds it takes Laura to rush to the window because realistically he should have been laying on the pavement moaning where Laura could have taken another shot at her leisure.
fantastic video once again! Keep up the work !
+Atozy Thanks Atozy. Your content has been awesome the past few weeks as well.
+Dartigan About the Divine Source, you forgot to mention: If death´s gone, that means the Earth would overpopulate in no time, and we would ran out of sources in months. A guy called Malthus set a theory about this.
+Dartigan will you go back and finish the uncharted 3 sins video or just skip it??
you must have a so much better job then Tyler congrats :)
Oh and btw, It's all a joke, pretty sure Dartigan enjoys the games he does videos on, but nitpicks on steriotypes and mistakes to make the video funny and critical :)
+Tyler Shevchenko Is people like you exist that's why we still getting half-done game with exclusive price. Thanks you...B@stard
Great job guys! CinemaSins would be proud.
"I got a tan from that lens flare"
good one
17.15 if you read the greyed out text above the white text it says that trinity intercepted a radio transimssion. So Jonash was talkin into the walkie talkie trying to contact Lara.
Great video by the way
The villagers didn't know about Jacob also, that guy had a rebreather because he was using a flamethrower, fire=smoke.
I can't lie, it is a bit of a bummer when a character you grew up with is completely renovated. I know this is a 'different take' and only the 'young Lara' but, it's the only tomb raider news we got. the reason why people loved Lara croft games is because of the cunning tomb raider. it would be nice to see that side of her.
although the game itself is very pretty, the folks who grew up with tomb raider just miss her is all.
also the whole "big tits and big lips aren't what natural women have, change it!", is like giving bayonetta a bob cut, flat shoes and emotional cutscenes every 5 minutes. loads of girls have no problem with an exaggerated character. it's a character. it's all in good fun.
Pen yu Wise words, is nice to read a critic with a nice level of politeness making a great point. I like the new version of the games but I miss the polite, sexy, sarcastic and bad ass Lara Croft. The new visuals are amazing but it seems that this time around they recycled a lot from the TR2013. It makes me happy that I can still get to play @tombraider 20 years later.
The Hunger Games is officially over? WHY DO THEY NEED TO KEEP BRINGING KATNISS BACK?
Era peor en el primer título, se parecía demasiado a Jennifer Lawrence.
Fun fact: In Germany both Lara and Katniss share the same voice actor
Also at the end when Jacob stabbed that soldier, I'm supposed to believe that spike on the end of the ax was strong enough to pierce modern body armor, and flesh and bone, all the way through from back to front? Plus the spike wasn't even that long.
Bullet resistant armor is weak against piercing.
Just Cause. Why? ... cause just reasons.
Katniss Croft
YES!
Just cause 3 next. Why? Just cause.
Just no... This guy ruins game for me..
@@caleb9590 what i suggest is to watch his video after play the videogames, once you developed an idea about it
There should have been a sin for Jonah changing race.
He is clearly Samoan in the last game, now he's black. I'm I the only one who caught this?
Onimusashi85 yeah you are right
You never met a Pacific Islander, have you?
bjchit exactly
Onimusashi85 even I noticed this and I was only twelve when I played it
Hope this isn't racist, bu maybe he go a tan?
For once, I have to add a sin. Why does Lara get along with that jesus dude so well, when he looks just like the dude in the first game who tried to rape her?
Reboot maybe? Or Lara might of forgotten idk honestly
Henry2962 whahhaha true
because a lot of shit happened on that island and he didn't even get close to raping her, he touched her inappropriately for like two seconds. it propably didn't even register
-1 sin for you because you finally learned how to pronounce Lara's name after the previous "Everything wrong with: Tomb Raider"
Imagine how much work this guy does who paints all of the ledges in games? He must be traveling non-stop.
Amazing video as always Dartigan. Was looking forward to this one and you didn't disappoint.
Seriously? Why even plaster the Tomb Raider name on this game if it's not going to have anything to do with either the original series or the remake? And I don't mean in terms of a remake. This has none of the original themes. OK, yes, it has Tomb Raiding of a sort, but it lacks the strong, capable, confident protagonist that I personally grew up with. Yeah, yeah, "breasts," but at least that Lara Croft wasn't crazy, obsessive and dragged through the plot by the nose. Didn't spend the entire game getting the shit kicked out of her, whimpering all the way, either. Nor had a badger glued to her head.
Let's just say that I found this video very satisfying to watch for personal reasons, on top of being very well-written.
You guys realize this is an origin story. A person isn't just born as an ass-kicking, confident, tomb raider. This series shows what she went through to make her that way. This criticism is so brainless. There are plenty of legitimate things to critique about the game.
@@LoyaltyasHonor Preach! Brainless indeed, and it's getting really annoying.
The fringe really really irks me too. 🤣
@@LoyaltyasHonor THANK YOU
So Lara still doesn't have dual pistols, well in skipping this shit
+AlucardAnimation What's worse is at the end of the 1st one she got a second pistol from Mathias. She kept the climbing ax hell she even got a second one but I guess she just threw away the pistols
+Joe M one thing that bugs me about this game is that they are so he'll be t on trying to make Lara and the bow a thing it's like no stop trying to make it happen square and fuck off lol
It's a reboot mate you can't expect everything to be the same, i didn't mind the dual pistols removed, it actually made things a bit more challenging
It's gone more survival and less puzzle. You should read some of the moaning about had "hard" the puzzles are...
Noro
Then you don't respect what Tomb Raider was about. The duel Pistols was LARA's thing. Leave the single pistols for other basic characters in other games
Started watching your videos a while ago and love them. But this is your best one so far. Laughed out loud a couple of times, especially at "I got a tan from this lens flare". Keep up the stellar work, you're brilliant.
I just wanted to say that I've been really enjoying your videos lately!
Saw other Game Sins videos and I couldn't really get into them, but your content is pretty enjoyable.
Please keep up the good work, I can't wait to see more things from you
"Power to heal mortal wounds with his hands," but doesn't do it.
"He can't die," but let's his followers die.
Acts non-violently but is involved in violence.
Jacob was developed as an atheist's view of Jesus.
He doesn’t heal with his hands, he uses some sort of substance. He’s definitely not a pacifist, and he can, and does, die. Regardless, there is no “atheist’s” view of Jesus. There is a historical view and one inspired by biblical mythology.
Ya got me xD
@@alexpuntiel The 'atheist' view of Jesus is largely that he was a charismatic and successful political activist who preached tolerance, charity and relatively equal distribution of wealth. So...he was basically socialist before it was cool.
Over to you, American christian right.
@@alexpuntiel Historical view of Jesus is that he died, that the miracles he performed were caused by non-supernatural factors, and last of all, that Jesus led a peaceful political movement and was executed from Roman fears that there would be an insurrection.
The "historical" view is literally an atheist's view, and I say this as someone who has one degree in history, and was an atheist and a Christian at one point in my life.
Gitskreig No, there just simply is no atheist view just like there is no “non-astrologer” view. Atheism isn’t an ideology, thus it doesn’t have a stance on such minutiae.
Lol someone attended the school of business from the merchant from resident evil 4
3:06 Probably my biggest gripe with this game. Apparently Lara never told anyone about that island, which was probably one of the greatest archeological findings in human history, especially with all the crap that was in there, woudn't even need the supernatural stuff. She should have become a world famous archeologist by the ending of the first game, but in Rise she's still a nobody and the daughter of a lunatic, wtf?
Thanks for posting these so much. You're the best out there for this kind of stuff and highly underrated. You're original, funny, and your voice is nicer to listen to. Keep it up and please never stop.
Pieces of Eden everywhere.
Templars everywhere.
This is modern day Assassin's Creed.
magic artifacts and Tomb Raider existed long before Assassin's Creed was created.
Ugh, this game becomes so painfully predictable in such a short amount of time. Still, nice work, Dartigan!
Also, voting for Republique, simply because I already expect Just Cause 3 to have a lame-ass story.
I'm playing this game on my twitch channel and almost every scene and every area, I get Uncharted flashbacks.
They actually didn't know Jacob was the Prophet. He staged his disappearance and then returned much later with a different identity. Not sure why he did, though.
I liked her old face.... as in before the "fraud edition"
Shes hot here man
Why the fuck is Lara still whinning every other scene?
'Whining'. One N, bro.
Gerin Sartokeesian got it, still, I miss the smug and cunning Lara.
I miss that version and mentality of Lara, too. Apparently making her vulnerable and wide eyed is what the developers and marketers wanted, as it caters to general female reactions and responses, moving her away from the "man with boobs" mentality. It's all about demographics. This game isn't marketed to a dedicated player of games like me. It's more for die hard fans, those that don't find says faction in fps, and female players.
I meant to write ...find satisfaction*
Gerin Sartokeesian So they keep thinking a woman can't be a badass, sometimes I wonder who's more retrograde, the SJWs who said past Lara was a man with boobs or people who think is a good idea to make Lara to be fragile and whiny thinking is the only realistic portrayal of a woman.
To be fair on Jonah's message, it does say an intercepted radio message right above the text telling us what Jonah was saying, which means that someone recorded what he was saying he wasn't speaking into the recorder.
Hahaha, that resident evil 4 merchant joke was too good... "Ahh, I'll buy it, at a high price!"
19:52 I doubt the spike on that axe is long enough to pierce all the way through that soldier's body so blood can spurt out his belly region. We can actually see the axe right thereafter. Jacob would've had to jammed the axe's blade into him as well which would make the task a lot more heavier, even if it's tipped.
6:30 Sin #42: It's a shame that sins like have a right to exist...
Dartigan, you own my sincerest respect.
ISIS owns nothing but my deepest disgust and hate...
the biggest sin of all: PS4 users have to wait another year for the game to come out.
+strahinjagov That's not a sin. That's a blessing. We get spared a year longer, and even then, Uncharted 4 will already be out.
it's not like xbox users can play uncharted lol
+Bianca Aletti i played both uncharted wins
AYAHAHAHAHQHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA feel the burn
11:27 It is also possible that it would freeze her body in the state it is currently in thus making her a immortal suffering from Lung Cancer instead of actually curing her.
I found this very funny as I do all the other Game Sins videos but there's something worth mentioning. A small chunk of the dialogue and a bit of the plot points regarding characters and their presence will be somewhat confusing if you haven't read Dark Horse Comics' series that bridges the gap between the conclusion of the first game leading up to the sequel. It's a great story that'll keep you updated on where the overall plot is headed, plus it's being followed up by a second series that'll lead up to the third game.
you've should have sined everytime Lara said "I've got to do this"
Or every time she sounds like she's out of breathe or whispering.
I want him, to try to make a game with such good detailing. This guy have no idea of how much work it would be.
wait he appreciated her butt so ok
I think he knows how difficult it actually is but he just jokes around. By the way making a new story is probably easier than making multiple sequels because you are most likely going to leave plot holes, change the whole plot of things or make new plot holes.
There was no mention Of The ruins on Yamatiy since Trinity sent people their to clean up the island as heard in the game. We know Trinity has ties to the island from two secret documents in 2013. They sent someone out their to research but he died. Trinity Was The one who spread the story that Lara was crazy and hid everyone else's testimonies
the sarcasm in these videos are hilarious
I thought Jacob lied to his people about immortality?
He did, but they still figured it out.
Logan Productions I might have missed it, can you tell me where in the game they show that the current people knew Jacob was immortal
@@sandylong5636 I mean if you fucking age but he doesn't its pretty obvious don't you think?
Dartigan
You might want to read the comics to fill in some of the things in the game
(and thats probably a sin to)
played this looking hard for the sins. didn't notice half of these until i watched this. very well done.
Just finished on pc and was waiting to watch until i did. PERFECT!!
This game's plot has so many inconsistencies, blatant cliches it is almost painful. It was an absolute delight to see how you tear it apart.
Moreover, I've never understood how the indigenous/local people in these games have such perfect English accents. It is beyond me. ; )
So after looking at this video it is a very convoluted Raiders of the Lost Ark? And this version seems to point at Lara being somehow way less powerful than in the first game. The amount of times she's knocked unconscious or comes into contact with someone who can just shoot her and be done with it....is fucking stupid. Sure I can say the same thing about Uncharted but Uncharted.
+Monty2289 The cutscenes really betray the gameplay, it's like two rival teams worked on each. In gameplay she is a gun toting, grenade-arrow shooting badass who doesn't even bat an eye to kill randomenemy#14 but then in the cutscene she's supposed to be this sweet forgiving and sympathetic girl who wants to do the right thing and offers the bad guys the "its not too late" plead.
9:40 THE MOUNTAIN IS BACK!!
7:26
The builder of Croft Manor (or wherever that is) used "soft glass" for all windows. If actual glass was used, the robber would be dead from multiple gunshots.
Also, the robber should be dead anyway. The entire right side of his body probably got shivved by debris if the glass was that easy to break.
Just Cause 3 or Republique ?... REPUBLIQUE ?! Are you f* kidding me ?

Best part of the video was the sentence. I laughed so hard!
Great vid again :)
The deathless ones do not actually die though, it's stated in the game that their bodies reform after a while. So they are kinda fragile, but they keep coming back.
# 36. Return of the Starwipe!
+EnvyMizuhashi I hear Disney rejected that title for the new Star Wars movie.
I know this is all in good fun, but a few points were wrong.
btw on the english accent one, they do typically tend to be stronger as kids especially if that's what you are predominantly around. Like i used to have an english accent up until about age 7 but moving to that states i ended up losing it because well no one i was around had one (both parents have american accents dads military and stationed over there is how i had one) so it's plausible her accent was actually thicker as a kid ;P
Besides I guess it wasn't the same voice actress. The voice actress of the adult Lara doesn't live in the UK.
How did the merchant make in from Spain to Siberia though😂
Dude knows how to get around it seems haha
Sam is busy being kinda possessed. It was explained in a comic book, but I still 100% agree with you on that sin.
Blegh, I get this notion that game devs these days secretly just want to make movies and now that tech has advanced its all about cinematic flair and 0 in the way of what makes good gameplay. This isnt tomb raider.
This video got me to subscribe. Great work!
5:30 you are right, it doesn't make since at all !
great video as always :D
Wait How do we vote for the next one? If there are supposed to be annotations I don't see them.
+Robbaz Corgi You vote hear in the comments Robbaz.
+KidGamer Dartigan was here first.
This is a classic case of "false claimant" succession, as I've seen it called before.
Dartigan is the true successor to CinemaSins when it comes to games because he was here first. Except, he's not because he doesn't share the name. Similarly, League of Legends was the true sequel to DoTA. Except, it's not because DoTA 2 came after.
***** Gamesins, as far as I know, came after Dartigan.
So now we have 2 people claiming to be the gaming equivalent of cinemasins.
Think of it as Eastern and Western Roman Empire.

Been waiting almost a year to watch this, finally played it on PS4.
My god games are becoming so repettitive and jaded these days... I'm afraid to get a next gen console I tell you.
What a far cry from the original games, and it's not like those were oh so great back in the day but you could at the very least play through most of game without cutscenes interrupting the freaking game. This necessity of making every single 3rd perspective action game cinematic and story driven is so weak (Assasins's Creed is like the crown champion of this), trying copying other succesful games like people is going to fall for it.
Lemme ask you: Would you be more invested in the story of games such as Fallout 3, Gta V, Skyrim V or Dark Souls had the gameplay not been so fun and great? Heck I don't even care of the story of those games as much as I should as a player cause I was having so much damn fun, exploring endlessly and see how much care the dev team gave to 'em.
I'm not pulling a John Carmack here and saying story is not needed in games (because that's simply not true), just stating that is somewhat saddening to find out roughly 90% of games these days hold your hand so damn much as a result of gaming becoming more mainstream and having to sort out through so much BS to find good games where I can actually play for the most part, explore and find things myself without a goddamn tutorial is very tiring.
yee the, 'look guys we've made Lara have more feelings here's a cutscene' is just... it doesn't have to be exactly the same as the old games but... just an inkling of what the whole franchise has worked towards would be nice
Man, skyrim 5? Can't wait for that to get out.
FlyxerGaming Excuse mua, I meant Elder Scrolls V, I'm so terribly sorry.
+Nightmaroid i agree i dont really care about story too, i prefer gameplay anyday, but the problem is you just compared open world games to a more linear experience. The reason gta, fallout and even dark souls to a lesser extent is because even though they have good stories, the games are pretty much sandbox. Tomb raider is a linear game where you go from point a to b, so it has to be story driven with good gameplay mechanics because if not you would have no reason to do anything like. What i mean by that is in gta you can go around doing shit like killing, races and all that and not care about the story, but in tomb raider you can't just do any of that everything you do ties in to a mission, you can just say i want to go do this and ignore the mission. Some of my favourite games, saints row 4, shadow of mordor, borderlands 2, dont care about the story in them, the gameplay is why i love them too.
This game is really good. 🌳
that lens flare line at around 9:00 killed me lmfao. I played that part in a damn near pitch black room and that shit almost blinded me.
Great video! But if I remember right, Jacob mentions keeping himself a secret from his tribe so they wouldn't know.
I would add a sin for Jacob being from Syria but looking like a white man.
The whole game I was left wondering both how the isolated group in general looked white (especially because, if memory serves, it's implied that they mixed with other non-white ethnic groups when they left Byzantium?) and how the isolated group spoke perfect English. Or English at all....
+Makayla Hansen To be fair, I don't think they are speaking english, I think it's translated for our convenience. The documents Lara finds around the village are in russian, including Jacob's as far as I recall.
+Makayla Hansen oh wait, I checked and Jacob's diaries and the others found in the village are actually in greek, which is also what the deathless spoke. Either way, I think it's possible Lara was actually speaking greek/russian with them. Nadia from the dlc was speaking in russian too, I think.
That might be, and it would make more sense that way. (I would still think the Greek they spoke would be pretty different from the Greek Lara knows, but I digress. This is a video game and I'm looking way too deep xD)
+Makayla Hansen yes, I think they would be speaking ancient greek (which makes sense for Lara to know tho), but apparently the Desthless were speaking modern greek... So that would be another sin Dartigan missed (understandable though).
That forced north-british accent deserves a thousand sins.
0:47 "Da last ceteeh osop dear, sommveah"
Sin 90 (13:45) is wrong. They don't know that he can't die. They don't know he's the prophet. There's a big bit about that in the end of the game.
As much as I want to vote for Republique & see Dartigan tackle his first indie game...it's not actually finished yet. It's an episodic game that's only up to episode 3 of 5. they have plans for the others next year (or this year, best as I can tell), so until then, Just Cause 3 it is!
Also, amazing video as usual! Glad I could help out in the stream as well! ^_^
+SlyDante Did not know that. I thought it was finished. Would not of put it up for vote had I. Though everyone wants to see JC3 so it really doesn't matter. Thanks for the heads up SlyDante.
