Anyone can write a good first few episodes and make it seem interesting. The audience assumes its going to come together and tie everything together brilliantly. AHS is the worst written show on television, period.
Lol Roanoke is in my top three. I love that whole switch of tv show perspectives halfway through. I LOVE THE BUTCHER! more-so how Kathy Bates reality tv character is obsessed with being the butcher. I also really like the episode of freak show where Jessica Lange covers Lana's Gods and Monsters. Everybody gets mad at me when I rate asylum in the bottom three lol.
I completely agree, the plot twists, the documentary style first half, Kathy Bates as the Butcher, how can you go wrong? I enjoyed it, in my top five. It definitely had some super creepy scenes too
Them switching up the show halfway through was absolutely a fantastic fucking idea. It was something new and to me the switch made me like it. I didn't really care for the reality type stuff in the beginning because I thought the whole show was going to be like that. Kathy Bates was absolutely fantastic as always
@@k8elizabeth436 I don’t get the complaints either. Whenever someone says “plot holes,” and I’m like girl that’s in every season of AHS. Some seasons exist in a plot hole
@@danielrubinstein896 every season is all over the place. This felt like controlled chaos and very much like a collection of all things AHS. Asylum had just as many side plots, same with Coven.
roanoke has the most captivating and maybe the most promicing opening of a season for me personally. hotel was a pretty hard watch as a first time, but jumping right into roanoke after this was SO refreshing. Documentary vibes, actual american history and probably the scariest atmosphere. the saddest part of all that was the disrupt progression of things (especially ending) and, probably, the way it was treated by the viewer it was that close to become a great season
i'm a relative apocolypse apologist and think it gets way too much hate, but ranking it above so many seasons including 3 out of 4 golden era seasons is crazy and my mouth dropped lol. i respect your opinion i just never thought people like that season so much including myself, i just think the writing is really messy and filled with plotholes and has bad fan service at times, and brought back so many characters and resolve so many things just reverse time in the end. it also felt hard to get in the story when combining season characters (example: madison montgomery interacting with and not recognizing constance langdon and violet) but i loved certain episodes and i still rather watch that season over certain fan favorites and think people hate on it way too much.
I liked it as well, not in my fave five, but much better than some. I love AHS and I re-watched many seasons numerous times. Roanoke is in my top five and nobody seems to have enjoyed it.
@@MickeyDee1984 I was torn on those two oddly enough. Roanoke is something I was so hard on but I really liked what they tried. 1984 is just a little too small scale at times
@@EJMoreno I liked it for quite some tame. But I ended up having the same problem as 1984 when they pulled the murder house twist and once you die in the area you can’t leave. Without that twist I would’ve loved it even more.
Finally someone who appreciates Hotel 😈. My personal ranking for each season! 1. Asylum 2. Hotel 3. Roanoke 4. Murder House 5. Coven 6. 1984 7. Apocalypse 8. Freakshow 9. Cult 10. NYC 11. Delicate 12. Double Feature.
I loved Cult though I’m British so I think I viewed it in a different sense to an American. I thought Kai’s character was so chilling, the use of fears really got me too but I am an extremely anxious individual with ocd so I think maybe it worked for me
@@EJMoreno honestly first watch - I hated it! But then I got my partner into the show and as I watched it with them I realised it’s actually quite a cool twist on the stuff you’d usually see from AHS
I liked Cult when it came out but loved it once I rewatched. It’s definitely in my top 5. Something about the on the pulse nature of the narrative works for me. I loved that the horror was steeped in realism.
@@flamebringer8968 I loved the mystery of the aliens I hoped to see more, I hoped Death Valley would be that but it was a waste of 6 episodes that red tide could of used
@@KieranBrooklyn apocalypse purely for the characters, the writing wasn’t great! murder house for me just didn’t hit the mark I couldn’t gel with the characters except moira it felt more like American sex story
You have excellent taste. 😊Similar to my top five, Coven, Hotel, Roanoke, Asylum, Murder House. Apocalypse was close for number five spot, but I had to include the one that started it all, but watching this , I'm rethinking if making it number five.
Here’s my ranking of all 12 seasons in my favorite anthology series American Horror Story. 12. Freak Show 11. Roanoke 10. Double Feature 9. Hotel 8. NYC 7. Cult 6. Delicate 5. 1984 4. Apocalypse 3. Coven 2. Asylum 1. Murder House
I mostly agree with this list but I would have to put Hotel above delicate. Delicate was basically a bad version of Murder house and Coven. If those two seasons didn't exist then maybe delicate would have been a bit more unique. I know delicate was based on a book but I can't believe they did another evil pregnancy theme with witches less interesting than the ones in coven.
I started to tune out half way through hotel; I didn’t watch any AMH for a couple years after that. I then jumped back and watched Roanoke/Cult/Apocalypse/1984. I haven’t seen double feature, NYC or Delicate. I had somewhat fell out of love with the series. I may check back in for these three seasons I’ve missed after this breakdown. Great video 😁
I dont blame you for rating Apocalypse so high. There is a lot to love despite its problems. My biggest gripe is the forced relationship between ms meade and michael. They tried too hard to make him sympathetic where they couldve taken more time with themurderhouse crossover and the warlock school (which also could've used some recasting).
Asylum is always gonna be my favorite because Lily rabe is my favorite ahs actress. Freak show is my least favorite. Dandy is the weakest villain for me personally
@@ch3m1c4l_c0ff1n I totally get that! As a Hotel fan, that was me during its original run. It was so upsetting. I’ve come to really respect some parts of Cult. Ally is quite fun to watch in the second half
Double feature threw me all the way off! When it went from red tide to death valley. I went back and asked myself, " am I tripping?, Did I miss something"? They definitely should've kept red tide
I never understood the hate for Hotel!! It was such a FUN watch & I found the story to be intriguing. I like the serial killer storyline taking inspo from Se7en because that's one of my favorite movies & I like that AHS made it more campy rather than gritty. I'm so glad to see someone who feels the same way as me about it lol
Hotwl just takes you in, the vampire concept is really well developed, characters are AMAZING and the hotel is just stunning. I wish they didnt include 10 commendmend killer at all tho
I have the unpopular opinion that Wes Bentley is a god awful actor haha. Just never liked the brooding whisper acting some guys too, and he’s maybe the biggest offender. It’s always so boring and lifeless too, which does not work for a main character. That aside, I love the hotel itself, the eras, the old Hollywood vibe, Liz Taylor and Mr March.
The characters were the best, even better than Coven's. Hypodermic Sally,, the Countess, , Liz Taylor, Donovan and the other handsome sexy men. I enjoyed the plot , but I think they tried to do too much with it, some of the sub plots didn't go well.
1984 is def a top 5 for me. murder house is def my fav. I may need to go back and re watch hotel and finish roanoke. I remember not liking hotel but ive watched a few oof these vids and so many have it high. I also never finished roanoke because it made me sooooo confused. def need to rewatch those 2!
Thank you for being one of the few people who actually ranked all 12 seasons. I've never seen two people agree on the rankings for American horror story honestly. I haven't seen delicate but I think Roanoke is easily the worst season for me.
Hotel was the first AHS season I watched---absolutely wonderful. Watching it got me hooked into watching some of the others. Yeah, it bears being rewatched.
I Like Hotel and Asylum because they are the most consistent in the scare department and have the most memorable characters and settings. Many scares in those two seasons rely greatly on body horror, but it gets the job done. However, for me, Coven is the best story, though. At the end of Coven, no stone is left unturned and there is no point in the finale where I felt the story went in the wrong\stupid direction. Coven is easier to rewatch and recommend for that reason. I'm glad those three ranked high on your list.
Excellent Ranking! My favorites are of course Coven, Apocalypse, Murder House. That’s about it! Hotel is great because of Evan playing March, but that’s just me. I really enjoyed double feature but really wish they weren’t so short and really full and lush. The others don’t interest me.
Every connection between seasons we’ve seen: AHS universe 1) murder house season 1, Then Stories season 2 doll house ( will connect to coven through spawlding), Then coven season 3, (connects to stories season 2 episode doll house through spawlding) Then hotel season 5 (connects to murder house Gagas character visits the murder house and the realtor lady shows up and Billie dean the medium shows up, and to coven queenie shows up), then apocalypse season 8 (connects to murder house through the baby at the end of murder house that survived and they visit murder house, and to coven the witches show up, and to hotel they visit the hotel). Then stories season 1 rubber women part 1 and then rubber women part 2 (these 2 connect to murder house, these 2 episodes take place at the murder house, remember Mallory reset the timeline in apocalypse season meaning the witches never visited and bought the murder house and most of the apocalypse season never ended up happening). Then stories season 1 ba’al (doesn’t connect but I think fits in this universe in my opinion). Then stories season 2 bloody marry (doesn’t connect but fits better in this universe in my opinion). Then stories season 3 bestie (doesn’t connect but fits better in this universe in my opinion). Then stories season 3 tapeworm (doesn’t connect but fits better in this universe in my opinion). AHS universe 2) Stories season 2 milkmaids (doesn’t connect but fits better in this universe in my opinion), Then freak show season 4, Then asylum season 2 (connects to freak show through pepper and doctor Arden is the one who cut elsas legs off), Then NYC season 11 (connects to asylum through shachath the angel of death), Then 1984 season 9 (connects to asylum, they show us an image of and mention the briarcliff manor asylum Margaret bought it and owns it), Then Roanoke season 6 (connects to freak show the historian lady explains that Edward Mott the original owner of the Roanoke house is related to dandy Mott crazy rich guy from freak show, and to asylum Lana winters shows up in the end), Then cult season 7 (connects to freak show through twisty the clown appearing to oz and oz has a twisty action figure and comic book, and to asylum in the last episode she mentions Lana winters). then stories season 1 naughty list (doesn’t connect but I think fits in this universe) then stories season 1 feral (doesn’t connect but I think fits in this universe). Then stories season 1 drive in (connects to freak show, we see in the directors RV a twisty the clown doll or something like that.. similar to the twisty toy and comic book In cult, I guess in this universe the story of twisty being a killer in Florida in freak show season became famous to make comic books and merchandise). Then double feature season 10 part 2 Death Valley (connected to asylum although there is no real confirmed connection to asylum directly i believe in the alien connection.. I think that the fact that woman got pinned to the ceiling in Death Valley the exact same way as kit did in asylum is supposed to be our confirmation connection.. in my opinion we are supposed to assume kit, alma, grace, and the kids from Asylum season were all part of the aliens early human reproductive experiments or genetic experiments.. I don’t think the kids are alien human hybrid babies.. I think they were 100% human babies.. kit got the women pregnant.. they were more or less just experiments with human reproduction and human pregnancy so the aliens can learn what’s going on scientifically with all that and what they can do with it to eventually create the perfect hybrid or perhaps some kind of genetics experiments seeing as the children did turn out to be extremely gifted, the timeline adds up for this because it would of been around the early stages of the aliens experiments, and also in Death Valley at one point Eisenhower asked “who is that?” and Thor said “he’s a respiratory experiment”.. so that proves they were doing different type of experiments on humans not only just impregnating them with hybrids). Then double feature season 10 part 1 red tide (no connections but feels like it belongs in this universe in my opinion). then stories season 2 aura (doesn’t connect but fits better in this universe in my opinion), Then stories season 2 drive (doesn’t connect but fits better in this universe in my opinion), Then stories season 2 facelift (doesn’t connect but fits better in this universe in my opinion). Then stories season 2 necro (no connections but in my opinion fits in this universe), Then stories season 2 lake (no connections but fits in this universe in my opinion) Then delicate season 12(no connections but fits in this universe) Then stories season 3 Daphne (doesn’t connect but fits better in this universe in my opinion). Then stories season 3 organ (doesn’t connect but fits better in this universe in my opinion). AHS universe 3) American horror stories season 1 game over (connects to both universes as in American horror story and stories is just a TV show in this universe.. the mom made a version of the video game based on the show, the son didn’t like it, it had characters from both universes… then she watched and studied the show, this actual happened not just in a game… then she made a second version of the video game and this is where the murder house burned down only in the video game based on AHS, the son liked it much better) and to be honest in Roanoke there is a connection to murder house season and the rubber women episodes (piggy man of Chicago world fair). And also there’s a small connection between freak show and hotel (Elsa made a commercial for a coffee brand and in hotel season we see a coffee container filled with Donovan’s ashes and it’s the same fictional coffee brand) but I ignore these 2 connections to keep the universes separate in order to explain the contradictions regarding the zodiac killer in hotel and cult and also the contradictions regarding the night stalker in hotel and 1984. 1. asylum season 2, extraordinary masterpiece. 2. cult season 7, extraordinary masterpiece. 3. Roanoke season 6, greatness 4. murder house season 1, greatness. 5. coven season 3, extremely very good. 6. hotel season 5, extremely very good. 7. freak show season 4, very good. 8. 1984 season 9, very good. 9. double feature red tide season 10 part 1, good. 10. Fun ranking, it's a bizarre journey of highs and lows with AHS. I'm dead at Dermot McDermott, MovieBitch confirmed! I love them too, gonna miss Avryl this summer hope she's ok.
@@kev7600 hi, no issue at all with Dylan, another set of reviewers mixed up Dylan McDermott and Dermot Mulroney and they now refer to both actors as Dermot McDermott as a long running joke.
I have coven, hotel and 1984 as my top 3 they are always interchangeable depending on my mood. I think what I love about them so much is they have ready influences (specifically in hotel, I have always been obsessed with true crime so when devils night came on and I was seeing all these killers I had researched and watched documentaries and had an interest in I was so exited) but make them their own and change them to fit into this universe, and more importantly I think I love those seasons the most is because they are just so fun and entertaining. Rewatch ability is a big thing for me as well and I find that these seasons are the most re watchable. 1984 I love because I am obsessed with 80s slashers and gore and fun. Hotel I love because of the style and the vampires and lady gaga. And coven I love because well who doesn’t love some bitchy witches just being iconic. There are of course things I love about most of the seasons and much more I love about my top 3. But I think ahs is such a unique show that has something that everyone could enjoy or at least be entertained by and I will continue watching every new season no matter how bad that are and re watching my favs. Sorry for this really long winded comment I love talking about this show or any show or movie tbh probably the neurodivergent in me 😂

@@EJMoreno yaassss. Cult was like you said, a bit too heavy handed. I get so turned off when people politicize the smallest things. I watch television to run away from our political climate, not to be smacked in the face with it. lol. 😂
Murder House, Asylum and NYC. Coven and the following seasons caught me on the wrong foot. Why is my favorite slow burn horror series suddenly Charmed? Musical numbers, really? Absolutely did not fit the established tone and themes for me. NYC made me cry and I love it.

1984 was a personal favorite, but im biased as an 80s chick. I agree there was something off about the season. The last two episodes were kind of a cluster, but my take away from watching it the second time was simple. There was too much cliche from 80s slasher films, while simultaneously not having enough physicality of a slasher film. The tropes were there, but the uneasiness and terror of the 80s slasher film was missing. Its like going to a reunion concert of the legendary band and the lead singer comes out, eats a burrito, and leaves. It was all there, but nothing happened.
Coven will always be the first spot for me! It was a great blend of horror and American stories 🤩 I do sometimes wonder if the show will ever get me invested in another season again, red tide was close until they cut it short and ruined the ending
I think Red Tide and Death Valley could have been fine if they were on their own and not crammed together. There wasn't enough episodes to make it good.. They should have been their own seperate seasons.
I didn't watch AHS since its inception. I started with Hotel because I am a diehard Gaga fan; so, when I found out she was in it, I had to watch. I watched Hotel about three times from start to finish. I always felt like something was off about it and it took me until my third viewing to realize what it was. I hate the finale because it feels like a rushed, forced, and unnecessary happily ever after epilogue that cheapens the experience of an otherwise good horror watch for me.
My personal ranking: 1. Hotel 2. Asylum 3. Coven 4. Murder House 5. Apocalypse* 6. 1984 7. Freakshow 8. Roanoke 9. Cult 10. NYC 11. Delicate 12. Double Feature I thought the whole Silicon Valley/satanic robot was a bit too campy for Apocalypse. I also hated how the season ended, but I loved how it tied up a lot of loose ends lore-wise. I feel like AHS will have a great story in mind for the season, and then they just pull side plots and twists out of a hat and try to inject them into the season, which just ends up making the story messy.
Roanoke is last for me I can’t stand it, was the first one I really hated. I loved 1984 and I am not a huge fan of 80s movies lol! I think modern horror is much better but loved it. Murder house and hotel are number 1 for me and I still haven’t finished apocalypse it was just so bad lol!
Here’s mine: 1. Asylum 2. Coven 3. Hotel 4. Murder House 5. Roanoke 6. Cult (I interpreted the season very differently on second watch in a way that boosted it for me. If you’d like me to explain I’d be glad to) 7. Freak Show 8. Apocalypse 9. 1984 10. NYC 11. Delicate 12. Double Feature
I am a bit late but this is how I would rank them all 1 hotel 2 asylum 3 coven 4 murder house 5 cult 6 1984 7 apocalypse 8 freak show 9 double feature 10 nyc 11 Roanoke 12 Delicate
I think 1984 might actually be in my top 5. It might not be as iconic as the first era of AHS but it’s campy and fun and made me actually root for Matthew Morrison 😂
@@preciouschildd double feature was bad, NYC was fine and Delicate is amazing. People can hate delicate all they want but it’ll grow a cult following at some point. It’s iconic, dark, funny and gory.
NYC is probably my favorite season of AHS. But well... I'm a pansexual guy who lives near Berlin (a city that had one of the most famous gay scenes during the aids crisis). So I'm a bit biased. It was obviously a season made for someone like me, and that's fine. I think there is the appeal of AHS. All seasons are so different and also are made for different people. Freakshow was appealing for people with disabilities, Asylum delivered a relatable story for people dealing with mental health problems and also people who feel alienated from society, and seasons like Coven and Apocalypse are enpowering to women. Those are just examples, but I think that's the reason for the many different tastes when it comes to why everyone seems to have different favorites.
@@hahatoldyouso really fun picks! 1984 is really fun and gets the kinda wacky I like. I wonder what Evan wouldve done in that season. I’d trade his role in Apocalypse for a fun 80s goofy role
The best 1 (Asylum) -perfect season 2 (Hotel)----so many good characters, so many good stores, great performances and setting 3 (Roanoke)---Hands down the scariest goriest season. Very underrated People dismissed it because the reality show/ real life double characters aspect. 4 (Coven)----was almost a perfect season but finale ruined it #justice for misty watchable 5-(1984)---Cool 80's throwback, but too many loopholes in plot and the whole Ramirez thing was dumb 6-(Freakshow) Some great characters, But kathy bates accent was so bad it ruined every scene she was in, that you either laughed or had to skip till she was off the screen. Then that massacre at the freakshow was like ryan ran out of ideas and just did damage control to move the finale along just felt lazy. 7. (murder house)- Some great performances especially lange, Rabe, conroy and had some good stories. The black Dahlia one Is good. The Harmons were just annoying and the themes just made it more erotic than horror majority of the time. 8. (Apocalypse) - could have been really good. Good concept but bad execution. So many loopholes, inconsistencies in the AHS timelines, The same actor playing numerous roles with characters they play in their season like its so dumb to me. Plus The ending If they really wanted to stop michael They should have gone back in time to the Night he was conceived and stop all the killings from the beginning. The next ending The two smart kids have the antichrist. But By AHS logic ghost and human baby made the Antichrist. So again inconsistencies. But had some cool moments throughout the show Bringing misty back and Marie even though that was wasted. It's an ok show if you turn your brain off lol. 9.(Double feature)--red tide was good up until last 2 episodes, were so bad The finale was a joke especially the logic. A little girl kills a boy twice her size in a waiting room drags him though lobby down the stairs into the alley and outside. Nobody saw no cameras anywhere? Plus the red pill heightened your artistic gift not gave you super strength. Death valley was bonkers but mamie was awesome. The worst 10 cult----It was just so bad. Overkill of politics & Sarah Paulson screaming and crying got so annoying, so many bad episodes 11 Delicate---just terrible had like 1 good episode 12 NYC----I couldn't get past 3rd episode just did not like this at all
Roanoke is and always will be my favorite season! It had it all!! The third wall was broken which only made it more interesting. The deaths were on brand for each character. The plot was thick and the turns turned me😂 my number 1. I also loved cult.
My rank would be 1. Asylum 2. Coven 3. Freak Show 4. Hotel 5. Murder House 6/7. Cult and Roanoke depending on my mood they trade off 8. Apocalypse 9. Red Tide 10. 1984 Didn’t watch anymore after that, including the second half of season 10.
13. Death Valley 12. Delicate 11. Red Tide 10. Cult 09. Freak Show 08. Coven 07. Hotel 06. Murder House 05. 1984 04. Apocalypse 03. Asylum 02. Roanoke 01. NYC
I didn't even know season 12 existed till I saw it pop up I immediately did some Googling and figured out I was very late the to the party Watched episode one, wasn't impressed or interested, looked up plot summary, still wasn't. Combined with the fact it's lower than Cult on this list, I think I'm safe skipping s12 as well.
I think if they got rid of the modern day parts it would of been better and they couldn’t made a better story, maybe bringing the modern at the end to wrap it up, but it’s a hard pass for me
I know I'm in the minority, but I love cult. I 100% agree with double feature. I stopped watching and haven't seen nyc and delicate yet. I finally finished double feature today and I think if it had more connections, it would've been better
I cant agree, but I'm a story person, not actor person Coven is a terrible story and that is frustrating because it starts so well and falls apart halfway through and rushed in the end, literally being the first to start that trend that everyone complains about & you yourself pont out shifts AHS as a whole because thats why. Asylum & Freakshow are the *strongest* cohesive original stories, with great acting (for those that care) I dont have hate for Hotel, easily in my top 3 too lol
My problem with AHS is how they always start so well, but become nonsense with inconsistent character development and abbreviated subplots.
@@danielrubinstein896 every season is all over the place. This felt like controlled chaos and very much like a collection of all things AHS. Asylum had just as many side plots, same with Coven.
@@EJMoreno i disagree, this season talks a big game but didn't deliver anything new or good, very disappointing but not the worst
The hardest part of Hotel was telling the Male characters apart. They looked way too alike
Kind of amazing--you are so right. It's like makeup or costuming had a boyfriend they were obsessing over.
One day yall will admit that Roanoke is in the top 3 seasons
Roanoke is absolutely fantastic
I certainly think so.
Roanoke is massively underrated imo.
@@Glamdotzan I rewatched it a few weeks ago… liked it infinitely more than I did when it was coming on tv…
roanoke has the most captivating and maybe the most promicing opening of a season for me personally. hotel was a pretty hard watch as a first time, but jumping right into roanoke after this was SO refreshing. Documentary vibes, actual american history and probably the scariest atmosphere. the saddest part of all that was the disrupt progression of things (especially ending) and, probably, the way it was treated by the viewer
it was that close to become a great season
I’m here for all the love Hotel! The whole season is such a vibe
I’ve found my people! ❤️
Right here with you😊
Hotel is also my favorite and i agree its very rewatchable. It also holds a place in my heart bc its the first season I watched live.
Hotel is a very fun first start season! I started with Murder House but Hotel came out post-college for me so it was like comfort food
I only want to watch hotel because of Gaga but stayed and fell in love with the whole season
i'm a relative apocolypse apologist and think it gets way too much hate, but ranking it above so many seasons including 3 out of 4 golden era seasons is crazy and my mouth dropped lol. i respect your opinion i just never thought people like that season so much including myself, i just think the writing is really messy and filled with plotholes and has bad fan service at times, and brought back so many characters and resolve so many things just reverse time in the end. it also felt hard to get in the story when combining season characters (example: madison montgomery interacting with and not recognizing constance langdon and violet) but i loved certain episodes and i still rather watch that season over certain fan favorites and think people hate on it way too much.
I liked it as well, not in my fave five, but much better than some. I love AHS and I re-watched many seasons numerous times. Roanoke is in my top five and nobody seems to have enjoyed it.
I personally rank Roanoke further down on my list and 1984 higher. I'm an 80s slasher Horror nut so I vibe with 1984 much more
@@MickeyDee1984 I was torn on those two oddly enough. Roanoke is something I was so hard on but I really liked what they tried. 1984 is just a little too small scale at times
Am I the only one that does not like hotel…
You’re not! But the Hotel fans were quiet for a long time and now we popping out
@@EJMoreno I liked it for quite some tame. But I ended up having the same problem as 1984 when they pulled the murder house twist and once you die in the area you can’t leave. Without that twist I would’ve loved it even more.
Hotel had so much death and gore that it completely lost its shock factor.
Yes lol
Didnt like it.

MI top 3: 1 Asylum, 2 Roanoke y 3 Coven
Excellent choices
I loved Cult though I’m British so I think I viewed it in a different sense to an American. I thought Kai’s character was so chilling, the use of fears really got me too but I am an extremely anxious individual with ocd so I think maybe it worked for me
Ohhh I like this praise of Cult. It totally makes sense. Kai is a great character tho
Worst to best
13 - Death Valley
12 - delicate

9 - murder house
8 - 1984
7 - freak show
6 - red tide
5 - apocalypse
4 - Roanoke
3 - hotel
2 - coven

Asylum was really good. But the aliens was weird.
Red Tide and Apocalypse better than Murder House??? Nuh-uh
12. Freak Show
11. Roanoke
10. Double Feature
9. Hotel
8. NYC
7. Cult
6. Delicate
5. 1984
4. Apocalypse
3. Coven
2. Asylum
The casket scene from cult is the best, the couple deserved it.
Just don't start up again with Delicate.
After a 9 hr shift I needed this video 😂 love your channel so much
Hope you enjoyed it! That means so much that you’ll wind down with my video.
Double feature takes me back to when I was in the hospital with Covid. I watched episode 3 and 4 there 😂.
Its hard out here being a cult fan, alot of people rank it so low but i love it so far
I've watched murder house and asylum, watched half of coven but got bored so I skipped to cult, but I'll probably finish coven after this
@@ch3m1c4l_c0ff1n I totally get that! As a Hotel fan, that was me during its original run. It was so upsetting. I’ve come to really respect some parts of Cult. Ally is quite fun to watch in the second half
This ranking makes me want to go back and rewatch the seasons.
I'll be a Freak Show truther until I die❤
Yeah the killer throws it all off slightly, but tying him in with James March and taking out The Countess did wrap all that up
@@EJMoreno yeah that storyline halted overall flow but still just the atmosphere makes it worth
Totally agree with you about Roanoke
I love AHS but Coven is number 1 on my list. You got history mixed with drama along with my favorite veteran actresses.
I love AHS. I couldn’t even finish Hotel. I watched every episode of every other season. Roanoke love over here!
I believe 1984 and Well a different version of Death Valley shouldve been double feature while Red Tides shouldve been a whole season.
Every connection between seasons we’ve seen:
AHS universe 1)
murder house season 1,
Then Stories season 2 doll house ( will connect to coven through spawlding),
Then coven season 3, (connects to stories season 2 episode doll house through spawlding)
Then hotel season 5 (connects to murder house Gagas character visits the murder house and the realtor lady shows up and Billie dean the medium shows up, and to coven queenie shows up),
then apocalypse season 8 (connects to murder house through the baby at the end of murder house that survived and they visit murder house, and to coven the witches show up, and to hotel they visit the hotel).
AHS universe 2)
Stories season 2 milkmaids (doesn’t connect but fits better in this universe in my opinion),
Then freak show season 4,
Then asylum season 2 (connects to freak show through pepper and doctor Arden is the one who cut elsas legs off),
Then NYC season 11 (connects to asylum through shachath the angel of death),
Then 1984 season 9 (connects to asylum, they show us an image of and mention the briarcliff manor asylum Margaret bought it and owns it),
Then Roanoke season 6 (connects to freak show the historian lady explains that Edward Mott the original owner of the Roanoke house is related to dandy Mott crazy rich guy from freak show, and to asylum Lana winters shows up in the end),
Then cult season 7 (connects to freak show through twisty the clown appearing to oz and oz has a twisty action figure and comic book, and to asylum in the last episode she mentions Lana winters).
then stories season 1 naughty list (doesn’t connect but I think fits in this universe)
then stories season 1 feral (doesn’t connect but I think fits in this universe).
Then double feature season 10 part 1 red tide (no connections but feels like it belongs in this universe in my opinion).
then stories season 2 aura (doesn’t connect but fits better in this universe in my opinion),
Then stories season 2 drive (doesn’t connect but fits better in this universe in my opinion),
Then stories season 2 facelift (doesn’t connect but fits better in this universe in my opinion).
Then stories season 2 necro (no connections but in my opinion fits in this universe),
Then stories season 2 lake (no connections but fits in this universe in my opinion)
Then delicate season 12(no connections but fits in this universe)
Then stories season 3 Daphne (doesn’t connect but fits better in this universe in my opinion).
Then stories season 3 organ (doesn’t connect but fits better in this universe in my opinion).
AHS universe 3)
American horror stories season 1 game over (connects to both universes as in American horror story and stories is just a TV show in this universe.. the mom made a version of the video game based on the show, the son didn’t like it, it had characters from both universes… then she watched and studied the show, this actual happened not just in a game… then she made a second version of the video game and this is where the murder house burned down only in the video game based on AHS, the son liked it much better)
and to be honest in Roanoke there is a connection to murder house season and the rubber women episodes (piggy man of Chicago world fair). And also there’s a small connection between freak show and hotel (Elsa made a commercial for a coffee brand and in hotel season we see a coffee container filled with Donovan’s ashes and it’s the same fictional coffee brand)
but I ignore these 2 connections to keep the universes separate in order to explain the contradictions regarding the zodiac killer in hotel and cult and also the contradictions regarding the night stalker in hotel and 1984.

Fun ranking, it's a bizarre journey of highs and lows with AHS. I'm dead at Dermot McDermott, MovieBitch confirmed! I love them too, gonna miss Avryl this summer hope she's ok.
@@believer773 I’m a MovieBitch forever! So glad you spotted that lol
What the issue with Dylan McDermott?

Murder House, Asylum and NYC.
Coven and the following seasons caught me on the wrong foot. Why is my favorite slow burn horror series suddenly Charmed? Musical numbers, really? Absolutely did not fit the established tone and themes for me.
NYC made me cry and I love it.
Should I do a Charmed revisit?! First season overview? 😂😅
Sorry you mentioned it and now I want that. Coven def had some different tones, especially if you like those three more serious seasons

Roanoke not being in the bottom 3 is criminal
As a fan of TV and TV shows, it did great to homage even the sleazy reality shows. But yeah, i should’ve probably put it lower if im thinking bout it

@@beardedqueen I think I kinda gave my reasons. I can see it being cathartic for some or educational for another, but it just didn’t hit what I wanted. It’s a reason I respect but I find to be poorly structured and lacking some scares.
At least there’s Russell Tovey 🫣😅
1984 was a personal favorite, but im biased as an 80s chick. I agree there was something off about the season. The last two episodes were kind of a cluster, but my take away from watching it the second time was simple. There was too much cliche from 80s slasher films, while simultaneously not having enough physicality of a slasher film. The tropes were there, but the uneasiness and terror of the 80s slasher film was missing.
Its like going to a reunion concert of the legendary band and the lead singer comes out, eats a burrito, and leaves. It was all there, but nothing happened.
Cult is a literal masterpiece 😭😭
My top 3 is very similar although the order is a bit different. Hotel is 3rd. Apocalypse is 2nd and Coven 1st. I just love the withces so much!
Yesss a rank video! And I have that same bat light in pink at my desk 💚
I loved the little bat light! And hope you enjoy the ranking, you get my personal takes on a lot of the seasons 🙈
Coven will always be the first spot for me! It was a great blend of horror and American stories 🤩 I do sometimes wonder if the show will ever get me invested in another season again, red tide was close until they cut it short and ruined the ending
I do think hotel is the best season tho
Rank the characters! Dandy was so phenomenal in Freak Show. So was Mr. March in Hotel. Then Twisty with his back story!!! Such interesting characters.
I don’t agree with everything but ABSOLUTELY agree that hotel was #1 ♥️
I think Red Tide and Death Valley could have been fine if they were on their own and not crammed together. There wasn't enough episodes to make it good.. They should have been their own seperate seasons.
Red Tide on its own, even with the wonky last episode, would rank way higher than Death Valley
My favorite season is 1984. I'm such a sucker for anything dealing with 80s slashers😌
Apocalypse ranked ahead of Asylum, EYE Yi Yiiiiiiii 😂😂
My personal ranking:
1. Hotel
2. Asylum
3. Coven

5. Apocalypse*
6. 1984
7. Freakshow
8. Roanoke
9. Cult

11. Delicate
12. Double Feature
I thought the whole Silicon Valley/satanic robot was a bit too campy for Apocalypse.
What a ranking task! There is SO much more poor to mediocre material in the world of AHS than there ever has been good.
Here’s mine:
1. Asylum
2. Coven
3. Hotel
4. Murder House
5. Roanoke
6. Cult (I interpreted the season very differently on second watch in a way that boosted it for me. If you’d like me to explain I’d be glad to)
7. Freak Show
8. Apocalypse
9. 1984
10. NYC
11. Delicate
12. Double Feature
I am a bit late but this is how I would rank them all 1 hotel 2 asylum 3 coven 4 murder house 5 cult 6 1984 7 apocalypse 8 freak show 9 double feature 10 nyc 11 Roanoke 12 Delicate
Apocalypse getting its flowers! Feels Correct
It deserves the love!
I think 1984 might actually be in my top 5. It might not be as iconic as the first era of AHS but it’s campy and fun and made me actually root for Matthew Morrison 😂
1-asylum
2-cult
3-murder h.
4-freak s.
5-roanoke
6-coven
7-1984
8-apocalypse
9-hotel
10-double f.
11-delicate
12-NYC
Delicate is amazing why is it always people’s second last in their ranking 😭
@@Yousifdiyab delicate is disrespectful for ahs history ahs didnt deserved last seasons(10-11-12 worst seasons of ahs)
@@preciouschildd double feature was bad, NYC was fine and Delicate is amazing. People can hate delicate all they want but it’ll grow a cult following at some point. It’s iconic, dark, funny and gory.
@@Yousifdiyab he amınagoyum
The first part of double feature was good tho
The final episode is super bad thoooo
Just don’t put Kim Kardashians name in same sentence as Evan Peters
@@hahatoldyouso but guess what? I did. 👏
@@EJMoreno yeahh, that's fair enough. Hotel and 1984 are my favourites
@@hahatoldyouso really fun picks! 1984 is really fun and gets the kinda wacky I like. I wonder what Evan wouldve done in that season. I’d trade his role in Apocalypse for a fun 80s goofy role
@@EJMoreno yesss I totally agree. My favourite character he's done for me has to be James March in Hotel...
The best
1 (Asylum) -perfect season
2 (Hotel)----so many good characters, so many good stores, great performances and setting
3 (Roanoke)---Hands down the scariest goriest season. Very underrated People dismissed it because the reality show/ real life double characters aspect.
4 (Coven)----was almost a perfect season but finale ruined it #justice for misty
watchable
5-(1984)---Cool 80's throwback, but too many loopholes in plot and the whole Ramirez thing was dumb
6-(Freakshow) Some great characters, But kathy bates accent was so bad it ruined every scene she was in, that you either laughed or had to skip till she was off the screen.
The worst
10 cult----It was just so bad. Overkill of politics & Sarah Paulson screaming and crying got so annoying, so many bad episodes
11 Delicate---just terrible had like 1 good episode
12 NYC----I couldn't get past 3rd episode just did not like this at all
We have the same top four, but in a different order. Roanoke was definitely the scariest, and the characters in Hotel and Coven were superb.
Girl, cult and nyc deserved way better, reality hits strong and it really is a horror story
I think my faves are murder house; coven, hotel, and 1984
Hotel DESERVES to be number one
1. Roanoke
2. Asylum
3. Coven
4. Cult
5. Hotel
6. Apocalypse
7. Delicate
8. 1984
9. Murder House
10. Freak Show
11. NYC
12. Delicate
Roanoke is and always will be my favorite season! It had it all!! The third wall was broken which only made it more interesting. The deaths were on brand for each character. The plot was thick and the turns turned me😂 my number 1. I also loved cult.
My rank would be
1. Asylum
2. Coven
3. Freak Show
4. Hotel
5. Murder House
6/7. Cult and Roanoke depending on my mood they trade off
8. Apocalypse
9. Red Tide
10. 1984
Didn’t watch anymore after that, including the second half of season 10.
Oh love this list!
13. Death Valley
12. Delicate
11. Red Tide
10. Cult
09. Freak Show
08. Coven
07. Hotel
06. Murder House
05. 1984
04. Apocalypse
03. Asylum
02. Roanoke
01. NYC
Are you planning on doing videos on interview with the vampire tv series or movie the show is really great 🤔🦇🧛♀️🧛♂️
1. Asylum
2. Coven
3. Hotel
I don't completely agree with this list, but Hotel is hands down the best season.
I didn't even know season 12 existed till I saw it pop up
I immediately did some Googling and figured out I was very late the to the party
Watched episode one, wasn't impressed or interested, looked up plot summary, still wasn't. Combined with the fact it's lower than Cult on this list, I think I'm safe skipping s12 as well.
Y’all should really give Death Valley another chance. I love it. And it hit different on re-watch.
I’ll rewatch it without Red Tide and it could help. I couldn’t help to think it looked too cheap, very much going for 1950s B-movie
I think if they got rid of the modern day parts it would of been better and they couldn’t made a better story, maybe bringing the modern at the end to wrap it up, but it’s a hard pass for me
@@ConorDale the Gen Z kids really drag that down. A 50s B Movie bout our government hiding aliens is amazing, but the pregnant people ruined it
Worst to best:
12 - Expositi... I mean, Delicate
11 - NYC
10 - Apocalypse
9 - Double Feature
8 - Cult
7 - Roanoke
6 - Freakshow
5 - Hotel
4 - 1984
3 - coven
2 - murder house
1 - asylum
I know I'm in the minority, but I love cult. I 100% agree with double feature. I stopped watching and haven't seen nyc and delicate yet. I finally finished double feature today and I think if it had more connections, it would've been better
I cant agree, but I'm a story person, not actor person Coven is a terrible story and that is frustrating because it starts so well and falls apart halfway through and rushed in the end, literally being the first to start that trend that everyone complains about & you yourself pont out shifts AHS as a whole because thats why.
Asylum & Freakshow are the *strongest* cohesive original stories, with great acting (for those that care)
I dont have hate for Hotel, easily in my top 3 too lol
