@@Seorful generally parents take away phones to prevent kids from using social media or texting. They're not going to be very concerned with listening to music. Also, an MP3 player is easier to conceal and hide from one's parents than a phone that they know you have...
I think mp3 players still have a pretty significant place for today's potential users.
Yes, a phone does all the same things for the most part... And the decline in actual computer sales is a huge impact. No computer, no download music. No ability to put music ON a mp3 player either. But when battery life is a concern? An mp3 player is the way to go.
I've wanted to get a new one for a long time now for work, where I have no ability to charge my phone. This may be the way to go for me once I build my Blu tooth speaker.

Russell Borrego You don't need a computer to put music on an mp3 player, just connect to your phone and transfer it via an otg cable.
No PC needed.
also music on your phone takes up unnecessary space its just. best to use up space on a device meant for music only
yea i think that's a issue my battery life is pretty bad as a Samsung owner it kinda doesn't want to skip songs and stuff because the screen turns off

It does have built in memory, there are 4 or 8gb variants with sd support for extra memory. Bought one for my girlfriend for a birthday, it's EXCELLENT

I love MP3 media players still, I know people use phones but I don't cause of radiation, also it's over kill and I want to save my precious phone battery.

👍 just bought one. Now I have 5 mp3 players, the most recent didn't last more than a year. Berennis lasted 9 months. TIMMKOO lasted 8 months. The Zune was the best lasted over 5 yrs. Now I have a AGPTEK and the RUIZU I just ordered for a backup.

There are some people like me needing a flat out MP3 player to listen to music while we work in a production environment where cellphones are prohibited.
Had an ipod nano for years and loved it to death. Doesnt work anymore unfortunately, but im trying to find a cheap alternative mp3 player. This video helped a lot

I have this. The biggest con is the volume adjust. When you turn it on the volume is up. It takes several tries to get to the volume screen, very frustrating. When you buy, make sure it has a separate volume control.

Tristan_H29 Your comment just reminded me of myself. I already graduated from high school, but about 2 years ago I would always bring an mp3 player to my gym class because the coaches would take everyone's phones before class started. It was easy to slip past, since most are small and compact.

I just bought one a month ago. You don't have to go back all the way to the home screen to turn up and down the volume you just have to long press the VOL button.

What color did you buy?
I bought this doodad after watching this video and it’s pretty spot on except for a few things: it needs volume buttons on the side (the volume button at the bottom is tricky in the UI) and it doesn’t read a few music file formats. Other than that it is quality goods.
Does it work ok with bluetooth headphone?
What’s the software like? That’s what I want to know. Usually these types of MP3 players come with crappy software that lacks basic features. It’s impossible to know if this MP3 player is any good if you don’t demonstrate to show us what the interface is like.
Also, what is the sound quality like?
These are all important things that should be considered.
I’d like to know how it performs in these areas:
- Can you create your own playlists with it?
- Can you ‘shuffle’ songs in categories like albums, artists, and playlists?
- What is the sound quality like?
(Often, my iPhone has better sound quality than most of these MP3 players.)

Still using my Philips gogear raga player after so many years being dropped in water pits, exposed to salt water, been washed many times in the washing machine, it's been stepped on, it's been dragged after my bike, it's a bit rough on the corners but keeps playing the songs as it did new, i paid 17 USD for it new, 1GB model, still charging great, and plays continuously for over a day, audio quality is acceptable, it's simple to use, small and lightweight, what more do one need, i ditched my smartphone, it was annoying to fish out that stupid brick and unlock it and fiddle with the touch screen, but with this player i just use muscle memory and tactile feedback from the buttons, don't even have to look at the screen, sometimes they just make things too complicated, like with some players, keep it simple, i like these you tested, here, cheap but yet simple enough, and has the features you need.

The radio problem would be that using headphones works as an antenna for FM. While that would not be the case for a speaker 🔊
