- This Mod Completely Changes BTD6 / Bloons TD 6 - BTD6 Rogue is a modded game mode made by @menddev that turns the game into a roguelike, starting you off with a small towerset that slowly expands as you survive the randomized rounds & bosses! Here's my first go at it.

Hey wanna clear a few things up about the mod. There is NOT hero XP split although it looked like there is im not sure if that was a bug but there is not hero XP split. Freeplay also doesn't work yet but will soon (as well as artifacts). I'm one of the "beta testers" so thats how i got this info (i'm also in his streams often). also yeah fbads are a pain. anyway, good video 👍
It's probably just because churchill levels up really slowly in general
@@creator3090yeah that's what I was screaming in my mind lol, you can NEVER get Churchill to lvl 20 in 100 rounds without spending cash on him other than that ISAB did mess up on a few things here and there but hey it was a new mod for him he'll learn slowly from his mistakes, should've watched Tewity's videos on it

ISAB, the tier 2s count for all tiers. It's only tiers 3 and up that lock certain paths

This mod actually looks really good and could be implemented as a new gamemode for BTD7

This looks even more fun than random upgrades. Please do more, as you said the replayability is definitely there
Small thing to note, the 200, 020, and 002 paths for the first few doesnt mean you cant get 2-2-2 upgrades on those towers. It just means that whatever path you picked will never go above tier 2, as that path wont show up again. You're unlocking the path up to that point, essentially but all of your monkeys can be upgraded to those unlocked paths. you're just essentially locking a path to tier 2 the first few times.
i feel like in the spirit of roguelikes if you die, you should always restart.
The 1/3125 chance for 5 lyches is insane
Also unless you disable it hero xp is not split
there was no "story" to announce the next boss so the game was/put itself on only lich, unless the lower difficulty works differently

This is a gamemode that i always wanted in BTD6

this mod looks so cool. having to react to random rounds with towers you pick is a great idea. hell, the random rounds in general feels like it should be its own mod.
i think the tower selection method could be more polished, though- getting only tier 2s from the start feels pretty bad.
a roguelike customizable modifier difficulty system would be great too (if you’ve played inscryption’s kaycee’s mod, or hades’ heat, something like that). make bosses spawning a modifier.

Hero Xp actually doesn't split. Churchill just levels slowly

As i heard from someone, hero's exp is independent, so you can lvl up all of your heros at the same time

big fan of this, would absolutely watch more. especially harder maps/difficulties
so just want to clarify a rouge-like is fully each run has the same opportunity for success or failure, while a rouge-lite is each run makes you strong to make future runs easier

other than the bosses every 20 rounds; this sorta reminds me of bloons monkey city
random waves coming out; limited towers and upgrades unlocked; crazy amounts of money early on from strong bloons coming early and grouped together

ahh yea, i just realized that every round 2 (round 2 for the first one and then 2 round after bosses, ex: boss on round 20, so 22) there will be some text appear on the left side of screen below health like "reality began to distort", "a feeling of death surround you", it tells you what next bosses is

No one’s pointing out that 5 Lychs in a row is 1/3200, not 1/600 that’s crazy how luckily unlucky you were

How did you get 1/3200?
For each set of 5, the probability that all 5 bosses are a specific boss is (1/5)^5, but there were 6 bosses, which means there are 2 chances. But, there are 5 different bosses that could've been in a row, meaning its 5x as likely. So it's actually 5 * 2 * (1/5)^5
Which equals .0032, which is 32/10000 or 4/1250
No its 3125
To get exactly 5 lych in a row until the last boss is (1/5)^5, but cartersmith explains other permutations that are similar

Love how he didn't realize that all the heroes get xp and there is no shared xp because he tried it at a lower level

Another meaning to rouge is breaking rules or even going off the intended path to do what you want aka breaking the cycle

I don't think you're supposed to not be allowed to crosspath like 220 farms, from what I understand is that once you select one of the 3 options the other ones will never appear again, thus you can't unlock engi through getting a 002. More impactful once you get to tier 3+ since it'll lock out that path from appearing.

if this were a real game mode, there’d probably be things to buy out of active game that make some things easier, like other Rougelikes
some ideas I had were:
the boss hints (that are already in the mod)
increase the amount of towers you get at the start
increase the amount of options you get per selection
free continues
Monkey Knowledge (and some enhancements to certain ones, like a 50 hp mana shield upgrade)
and the currency you get to unlock them is what you get for playing the roguelike mode, just like other rougelikes
the messages are for bosses
the boss rounds are 20, 40, 60, 80, 100 and 120 i think? (may be different for higher difficulties?)
the boss options are bloonarius, dreadbloon, lych, vortex and phayze (at 20% or 1/5 chance each)
that would be 1/5^6 to get all 6 bosses the same type (1/15625)

If I remember from Tewty’s vid on this mod, the hero’s don’t share XP meaning you can have all of them down and they all get XP identically.
Turning BTD6 into a rogue-like is the coolest fcking idea ever how has no one ever thought of this
This mod came out like a mont ago and Tewtiy has been playing it alot
Heros don't split xp, u can change that in the settings of the mod, although the creator said the settings doesn't really work properly
I think once you learn the mod a little bit more you should definitely take on the hardest mode.
Also the reason u can buy 222 on the towers that sais 020 ect is just bc it's technically just crosspathing
I suppose the meta is
early game - expensive defense spam (super monkeys)
mid game - farming hard for late game
late game - tier 5 spam, perhaps paragon.

heroes dont share exp in this mode (well you can turn that off in settings)

the chance of getting 5 lyches would be 1/3125, which you did cos on round 20 another lych spawned, so you got one on round 20, 40, 60, 80, 100 (so 5 lych each 1/5, so 5^5 = 1/3125 or 0,032%)
I am pretty sure the heros do not share exp in this mod because of how many you can get

They could further complicate it with random downsides like lose money or tower is disabled for a bit or all bloons get regrow.

The path selection bonuses are worded a bit strangely. It looks like it says “this upgrade path will be unavailable” when really it means “the other options will not show up again” when it gives you the towers. Also I feel like the displayed upgrade path should be forced. Crosspathing is allowed but the one path would be locked in.

You might not know this, but the hero xp still gets split even if you have a hero at level 20
He actually does know that, based on him mentioning it often enough in other videos.
He still waited tho to make sure sauda reaches level 20 as fast as possible I think
Boss should be applicable for every map so people can practice a little bit. So I like the mod.

Interesting. Yeah that hard mode seemed really tough, but with the added experience you now have with the mod, you should be able to do it.

I recently tried this mod, but it doesn't seem to work for me. I can't choose roguelike mode and choosing a regular mode has the first round pass and then it's immediately the end of the last round
pick a map and then medium, rogue mode should be below the medium gamemodes
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm 99% sure that even lvl 20 Sauda still takes her part of the hero xp, it's just wasted
