I ware a Razor Blade necklace every single day of my Life, because of Dime. And to show gratitude to the ones we lose to early in life. Every day is precious
Love this, Ola! This got me nostalgic thinking about my 333 slime I bought when I graduated high school. Mine was an 01, and probably made in the same factory as yours. Hope to see more of this guitar on your channel!
I have that same model with a chrome Schaller. JB 59 Zebra in the neck. Sounds insane and the sustain is unreal. It has a big brass block that came with it.
Great video. 👍 Officially 2004 was the last year for those 333 models, unofficially they made the slimes and bolts up to 2007 year. I have the same 333 Slime from 2005 and a bolt 333 from 2007 but they don't have dime initials on the head stocks due to Dime parting ways with Washy, but they released the leftovers in small batches after contract ended. Cheers Ola. 🙂
I remember the bolt 333 was going to be my first "decent" guitar, I ordered it over the phone from a store in the back of a guitar magazine(can't remember the name of the store), but they ended up cancelling the order a few days later, I can only assume it must have been around the time they stopped selling them. Either way I found my Trans-Brazilia burst Korean-made ML79F instead! Also, I can't believe I completely forgot that I had one of those Pantera wallets in my late teens!!
Thats pretty cool. I got to work with a master luthier at sam ash who worked at the USA washburn factory in Mundelein when they still were in illinois. He actually made the prototypes for the USA dime slime for dimebag. Though he did say that the imported guitars were better than the usa models. He said no matter how much he complained they were using wood that was very flimsy to push out the guitars as fast as possible. He brought in two dime slimes. One import and the one he kept and bought that he made at the factory. The usa when you pulled on the bar the headstock would flex like a noodle. And then he did the same thing on the import. And he just goes. "Yeah, its pretty messed up they wont let me build a better guitar than a factory".
Without any doubt, heavily influenced by the guy in the video I bought a 1995 333 Dimeslime from a chap in Italy. It's in great condition, extremely well made, plays great and came with the pickups upgraded to L-500XL & SD Z59 along with the original Washburn pickups and soft case. I was hoping you would cover the 333 someday and you did, thank you!
Aw man that is beautiful, i was hoping to get a new slime from dean but they haven't produced the 2024 models. I instead found a stock black Washburn 332 and put bill Lawrence pickups in it and i had a kahler installed on it. I know its sacrilegious but im very pleased with it.
Still remember waking up that morning… 20 years ago. Proceed to drink and smoke whatever I could find. Now more time and money is spent on gear. The shit I wanted as a kid. And I think it’s time for a Dime!!!!
Hi Ola Huge fan of your bud Love the dime slime Iv got a Washburn D3usa custom shop Blackjack with black binding on the neck it’s just everything black 😂😂😂😂 Always fancied get the other two dime slime and lightning ones But now they are crazy money Keep rocking bro \m/
I had that same guitar, very comfortable, its sound was great... but I never liked the color---now I want it back---but it is a great guitar, excellently built.
If you have more than one floating bride guitars a big hack is to buy a 3mm Allen screwdriver. They’re like 10 bucks and unlock the nut, strings and the posts to adjust action.
yo Ola! the quad cortex now has a doubler, so you no longer need to use the delay trick from the other video to recreate that dime sound, in case you missed that. As soon as I saw that new feature I was like "damn, this solves a lot, including that trick Ola used"
Dear Ola, Wrap the wound strings twice around the post by hand before pushing the end of it through the hole. Push the end over the top of the two wraps. Pull tight, and tune. Wrap the unwound strings three times, and use the same process. You'll improve your battery life on your camera. Bless you.
Does wrapping more really make a difference? I've been doing 1.5 wraps for all strings. I don't change strings too often so I don't really have much basis for comparison.
Damn I'm glad I watched this video. I took out my Dean from Hell to restring and clean it up the other day to celebrate dimebag. I got it all setup but even when in tune it didn't sound right. Completely forgot about the 425hz tuning he does. Did like a drop EB with the 425hz and it sound perfect now.
I think Dimebag would probably satin up the neck a bit, probably from beyond the grave, wouldn't mind if you were to do just that. Also I did not know that Washburn was from Mundelein illinois. That is only an hour away from Chicago.
I despise myself for it. I was young and I didn't understand what I had. I ruined and gave up a Slime when I was a kid. I'd never seen or used a floating bridge before and ended up thinking I'd broken the bridge. Gave it to someone sometime later. He was quite happy. It was only years later when I finally set about learning to use a Floyd equipped guitar that I realized what I'd given up.
@CyberChrist I was like 12 and a completely clueless child. I knew what they were but not how they worked. When the bridge slid loose and everything went out of balance when I pulled all the strings off for that first string change, I thought I'd broken it. We had no money for lessons, like ever, i had maybe 3 growing up, and two were actually bass lessons for another kid. I had to learn it all the hard way.
@@johnnybullseye3622 It's a shame to have money for such a guitar but not for learning how to set it up, but it's a good thing you smartened up since then 👍
I'd love to get a Washburn or Dean Dimebag guitar (any of them) but god damn are the prices insane these days :( Wish I had of grabbed one years ago when I had the chance.
My Washburn Slime 333 was made in '00. Got it in 2012 on eBay for $300. I also have a Washburn Bolt 333 that was made in '99 that I got in '04 from a local shop for $500.
Ola, what you think about aliexpress replicas of dime guitars? Is it good idea for cheap guitar to collection? I really like the shape of this masterpieces but they very expensive and idk what to do
Ola, please for the next time you make a video about this guitar, get a cheap knockoff and drop it, just to make the banging into stuff feel harmless... also would be a funny prank :D
It’s not officially Olas guitar until it gets the desk bashing treatment first
Stop banging that thing on the bench mate 😂
Was my thinking to, but i had called it Bashing..🤣
That's what she said
@@Marko_74 people pay extra for that. It's called relicing hahaha
@@taxationistheftmemesreal relic from use adds at least 10x to price, thars at least what guitar accidmficionados tell me lol

Favorite finish of all time. Had a chance to buy one once and passed it up. Still regret it.
Your videos are helping me through a tough time right now
Getcha pull!
OMG. The intro.
Ouch! 🫨
Ola Dimeglund 🙏
You should so a 12 Dimes of Christmas where you just honk out one of his techniques each day until the 25th.
Ola is right, the USA made Washburn Dime Slime have a less round curvature in the upper side of the body above the neck pickup.
That Dime Slime is outstanding. It’s not really my thing but something about it seems perfect

You talking about the BSG’s and funky munkys?
@@troyskinnard1393 Hei Troy. No, not BSG's or Funky Munky's, but 333 models.
@ ah I didn’t know they made them that far into the 2000’s
My 333 Slime has matching slime finish on the headstock and the back is natural wood, is there any difference other than looks?
Ohhh ein wild laufendes Ola, es hat ne dime slime, schnell kommt und schaut.. 😂😅 #lovetoola
It's about time! This video is long overdue.

That's the same color scheme as the Schecter Passive Hellraiser Dragon Burst model. Sick design 🤘

The change strings on non-locking i pull the string tight and pull it back off 1 fret (the lowest ones). Equals amount of winds on every strings!
The Dimebucker is the BEST pickup ever made. I have twins in my Les Paul
Oh hell yeah!
I recently purchased a Dean from Hell n bloody love it.
What tape did you use for the neck pickups?

You should have put some locking tuners on while it was apart
Hello from Minot North Dakota.
Damn th3 banging
It’s a beaut 🤘🏻CFH 333

For 8:07 my string change stuff has always been Steve Vai or Satch. Can't explain it just always listened to them when changing strings 😂

I would think with the locking nut that it doesn't matter how the strimgs are on the tuner posts
Hi how are you rock on dude nice guitar
Stop banging it on the desk man😭😭
that’s what she said
Is there a name for that Hosco block? Couldn‘nt find it on the internet.
Hey Ola, you don't usually polish the frets on the guitar when they're not stainless steel?
Noice axe! 🪓 🎸
Perfect string changing music is Porcupine Tree. Change my mind.
Volumeknobs slightly misplaced? 🧐🤔 or is it because it's a washburn, not a Dean? 🤷🏻♂️😅
Very nice
It's the blue wire, THE BLUE WIRE!!! 😆
Standing or sitting, what is your preferred position for changing strings. I have to stand up at my bench. sitting doesn't feel right for me.
schaler floyd is the best floyd rose for a cheap price on amazon i put that on my dime razorback limited sigh edition never trouble to restring
Flick the bean Ola
Put the BL500 in it! Dime's guitars originally had those, including the first ML he bought at a pawn shop

1995 to 2004. Thats when the Washburn Dime guitars were on the market. Actually early 2005 is when they stopped selling them.
