I chose Yemen as an example because it's currently the country most impacted by malnutrition, and because war is a common reason for famine. However, there are MANY countries in the world that are currently experiencing profound malnutrition... Burundi, Syria, Somalia, South Sudan, Haiti, Afghanistan, the DRC ect. Perhaps you should read up before commenting. A good place to start would be the Global Hunger Index.

"Fine" and SK don't even belong in the same sentence, the school system is brutal, the work culture is garbage, elderly poverty rates are damning, the suicide rate is the highest amongst developed countries, lonlieness is at an all time high, and fertility and marriage rates are abysmal literally the worst in the world which can probably be owed to the "N-po" generation. By all accounts the country is not fairing very well at all and to think I'm only just scratching the surface.

Not really. The measurement of poverty is pretty sketchy to begin with....what is it relative to? Poor people today are well off by comparison to one hundred years ago and earlier....so when you say poverty increased you need a point of reference.....what is your point of reference? More people today in the third world have access to food, technology, clean water, and health care, largely thanks to American innovation and anti poverty effort around the world including Africa and other remote or isolated populations....compared to how these people lived one hundred years ago.

When you see all those great inspiring figures about how much poverty reduction there is in the world, the majority is just from China
And China has been investing in, exporting industrial goods and building infrastructure in the third world at a scale that Americans are gawking at. The west has neglected these countries because they’re too poor to make money in. So what exactly are you supposed to be bragging about here

In the past 20 years in the United States, technology has flourished to the point of science fiction, food production is at a all time high, lifestyles have become so comfy that going outside is now a choice, people can literally live anywhere and work from home, people from around the world want to come to America just to start a new life, you have the freedom to say almost anything you want and have someone disagree with completely without punishment from either party. No where else can you do this.

I’d start at technological innovations. From iPhones to electric vehicles, we push a lot of R&D and IP the rest of the world enjoys and China steals. This leads to robust trade partnerships and more open markets.

It isn't sadly the USA doesn't do that. We in the first world give but a fraction of what is needed while we live in luxury. And even in our countrys the wealth is so badly distributed.... I'm from Germany and here less than 3% of the population own 95% of our wealth. I think in the USA it is much worse.

Norway is rich in large part because of GOVERNMENT OWNED oil company whose profits are taxed at 70 percent. No American designed that policy. Countries around world have created socialized health systems to help more people with better outcomes, even despite pro American style private health system proponents. European countries design livable, walkable, bikeable cities that have high density using medium story housing, limiting the use of cars and single detached homes, all policies that are anti American. Many countries enjoy very low gun deaths thanks to very Un-American strict gun control laws. The list goes on and on, .e.g parental leave, support for families, education, etc. If anything, American policy propaganda is a giant hindrance to other countries being able to make progress.
You’d think with that revenue structure they would be able to meet their NATO 2%GDP expenditure threshold but they’re content letting America subsidize their defense budget and, indirectly, every social program they have to offer. In fact, of the 30 NATO countries, only about ten countries could reach the benchmark and they ALL benefit from America’s heavy subsidies. Heck, you don’t even need to spend on weapons R&D, just buy systems off the shelf.

I love America. No where else can you climb from the bottom of the ladder with hard work and dedication. I came from a poverty income family. And with a entire generation dedicated into investing money into a home and no spending. The new generation "me" made it to the middle class. And there's still a long way but clear path to upper class if I put the dedication like my parents. I swear no country out there lets you do you like America. You are rewarded for your hard work unlike other countries.

Two A lot of the difference in poverty rates is due to change of what is considered extreme povertyou possibly not a change in the actual conditions.
