One little tip.
For any complex object that needs to be duplicated, and duplication will not be very noticeable, for instance trees, use Alt + D instead of Shift + D, and then slightly change objects with scaling and rotation. That can drastically reduce poly count on some scenes because you are using instancing of one object instead of duplicating it.
