I tried so many softwares that told me that my camera does not have a Camera Shutter Count enabled on my Camera, and some of those free softwares asked me to upgrade & buy their premieium software to be able to unlock this feature. Only "your video" was a helpful one, and in one click I was able to know my camera shutter count. Thank You
Thanks just checked my Canon EOS 700D and my shutter count is 7,212. I can't believe I bought this camera used from a professional. He told me it was still new and happy I got it.
Sorry to hear that. I've seen a lot of cameras for sale on Ebay that claim it's "new" and "barely used" or "never used". But as a DSLR user myself I know that generally people take good care of their cameras and they look good for years...so the opportunity to lie to get more for a camera is high.
Thank you so much Chavez!!!🤗🤗❤ Brilliant and Simple fix! I wish they would use this video on the Canon site instead of wasting time telling us to use the Eos Utility and other apps!?
In the video description is a list of supported cameras for this software. If this software does not support your camera, the second option is to try the other software listed in the video description, the Tornado software.

Ok I realized I got scammed good. I purchased this used Canon 5D Mark iii for just 392$. The guy who sold to me, said the shutter count shouldn't exceed 100,000 actuations. I went to the Canon certified partner service center and surprisingly they did not have any software to tell me the shutter count. But they checked the camera and it was working great. So I purchased it. I clicked a few pictures to see it all works fine. Today I saw your video and discovered that the shutter count is 370,000!!! The guy who sold me the camera is ok for a refund if I visit him in the next 3 days, but he is living 200 miles away in a different city and he wouldn't be visiting my city anytime soon. I cannot travel as I have work commitments. I don't trust the parcel service to be careful with the camera. Basically I am stuck with this one and I am praying to the lord almighty that the shutter doesn't fail and take me to another 50,000 shots atleast. With which I can easily recover not just my 392$ but lots more.
@@ChavezDIY going forward that's the policy. Or I can check it myself. But generally, what's your opinion? Do you think canon 5d m3 build is capable of taking it to half a mil?
According to a google search, "The Canon EOS 5D Mark III has a rated shutter lifespan of 150,000 actuations. However, many photographers have used their cameras for much longer." The shutter count doesn't reset when you replace the shutter. Another thing to consider is that it's possible the shutter could have been replaced once already and it could still have more life. You'll find out how much farther it can go.
@@ChavezDIY I know for a fact that it wasn't replaced. So I'll just use it and then see what happens lol. Thank you for taking time to talk to me brother.
I recently bought a used Canon EOS 800D, Tornado worked for me but Windows 10 kept blocking this thing also in went to my spam folder where you enter an eamil address to get Tornado. Anyways now I know. BTW how accurate this result is?
I haven't used Tornado yet. I listed it as an option based on some google searching because EOS INFO doesn't cover some cameras. I'm going to assume its accurate but I have no way to test it. Canon should make this process easier for us.
I don't know. Check the video description for a list of cameras that are supported. If this software does not work on your camera there's another software in the video description that you can try.
I tried it with my Canon 7D mark 2. Failed as the camera does not connect when the connect button is clicked. The PC has detected the camera. Please help.
The software does not seem to work with a Canon R5. On the bottom info pane it indicates Camera is Detected: Canon EOS R5, However, at the top it indicates Camera Not Connected.
Nope. If it was that easy I would not have made the video. That number you're talking about is just the photo count. You can easily reset that number. The shutter count cannot be reset and it's the number of actuations since the camera's existence.
there are two numbers appearing now..... 1. Shot Count and 2. Mirror Up Count ??? I Just got my 1DX MK III back from CPS and they gave me : Shot Count 5496 MirrorUpCount 10,817 .....What's the difference ? ......
