I like that you keep your mistakes in the video. This makes your content real. There are too many RUclips channels with so called clean racers that cut and paste all the content they created in 15 takes to make one "clean" race. Keep it real Arie. ❤👍
Good video but GTR2 has a large variety of cars. For example the Seat Toledo GT features a very modern 6 speed sequential gearbox with autoblip so you need to tick the option for it in the options. That explains why you keep losing the rears on corner entry or when shifting. Same goes for the Saleen although the Saleen isn't helped by its autrocious brakes. There's loads of information in a pdf file that can be found when searching online for "gtr2 car owner's manual"
I wish I'd put up a input overlay, because I was blipping like mad in every car lol. I felt like autoblip was cheating, but for the Seat it would've actually been realistic. I found the owners manual, that's a very nice resource. Maybe need to revisit now...
Sadly there is no dedicated autoblip feature in GTR2, it's bound to the autoclutch :/ So if you use autoclutch, you get autoblip and won't destroy your engine over time everytime you upshift (notice the revs going right into the limiter with every shift)
In GTR2, the various classes actually conform to the standard FIA classes back then. The GT class, i.e the Vipers, Storms, etc are FIA GT2. The NGT and "Spa G2" are GT3 e.g.: the F360 GTC, the P996 RSR and the BMW M3 GTR The 2003 NGT class, i.e; the F360M and 996RS are the older GT3 class, and are slower than the 2004 GT3s. The Spa G3 class are GT4s. The game may seem unbalanced with some cars in the same class being outright faster that others, however the equalising factor is their fuel consumption. Most people miss the fact that the FIA GT was a standardised 3 hours, or 500km race for the GT2 "GT" class, (which ever came first). You will find that the faster cars in a particular class have much higher fuel consumption and will have to have a +1 pit stop vs the slower cars with lower fuel use. For example in a 3 hour race on Spa; the Saleen S7R and Prodrive 550GTS will require 3 pitstops vs 2 for the slower lap pace Viper GTR-R or Lister Storm GTs. This is further complicated by tyre wear. So cars are actually pretty balanced over the 500km / 3 hour race distance. For comparison; 2004 FIA GT2 are lighter and more powerful and are about 2 seconds per lap faster than today's SRO GT3 class, due to modern cars having more downforce and traction control, ABS systems.
I've been at Enna Pergusa irl and I must say, I have no idea where those rooms are supposed to be. Yes, there was a bar (an italian friend of us just said "look at this fucking bar" in disgust when we were there at a trackday), and it looked like it's straight out of some third world country lol. Lovely place though. And I must admit, my favorite race track in the world (I'm weird, I know).
GTR2 may be old, but once you install the HQ anniversary pack, and updated shader, it brings new life to the game. The physics are so good, with really competitive AI, that even now, it's still one of the TOP sim Racers. There's a wealth of new tracks, cars, mods on Race Department, Trackaholics, and eSport. Once you've got them, with the HQ updates, you'll get hooked on GTR2.
An important note though: The HQ mod completely changes the physics and engine data for all cars, even a bit of the 3D-models. All of that was based upon the real data that SimBin got from the Teams and the SRO for the 2003 and 2004 seasons. I'm not sure why the mod does that, but just a heads-up. I personally prefer the stock GTR2 over that.
wow its crazy to think gt racing hasnt gotten much faster almost at all in the last 20 years. not taking away from gt3 we have now but more impressed by the earky 2000s gts
and thanks to amazing people; it has VR and great mods. I uninstalled all my nonVR games and downgraded to just 5sims. This is one of them, it's a joy.
10k? Mate, how about a million billion? Also known as ~50k. Also, there is still online competition aces on GTR2, GT Legends, Power and Glory. But don't do those if you want more than 715 subs (pls do them)
Your content is amazing man!
Cheers from Brazil!

GTR2 and Race 07 were amazing
I still play this once in a while. It looks absolutely amazing in 4K on an OLED screen.

I still go back on occasion and play this! It's still holds up pretty well!

GTR2 is top notch in so many ways! Massive mod support too.
Great Video
The last race especially was really nice to watch
Blijft inderdaad een absolute Gem! Heeft tot op de dag van vandaag opties waar recente games moeten afhaken!
This was my childhood's Assetto Corsa)
Back in the day ist just felt amazing
Yea it did, I bought a second hand Microsoft Sidewinder (with FFB) a while ago for fun and I can safely say we got spoiled by technology lol.
@@ARIE.23 I remender getting this game with the first G25 at christmas. That was amazing at the time

I totally agree! The car bounce and handling is special in this game.
I purposely put bumps in some of my track builds and the new Headphysics mod just made it even better. @@gordobot24

Hi there 👋, awesome video👌💥. What FFB settings are you using on your Fanatec wheel and in game? Thx in advance for your help. Greetings from Germany

Such a good nostalgia trip i loved it. What mods were you running for the spotter?
It's an app called CrewChief: thecrewchief.org/ Very useful for a lot of other sims too!
and thanks to amazing people; it has VR and great mods.

This is one of them, it's a joy.
I still need to check out all the mods for GTR 2. It's a whole new world it seems.
Lighting upgrade 🗣️
Ziet er zeer goed uit voor een progamma van bijna 20 jaar oud
Helemaal mee eens!
C5-R was my favorite
awesome game

Ну ты и тип)) 60Mb качал весь день. А если маме надо было позвонить? В те времена у меня была такая-же история. И не раз ))))
Lol yea, that was great. I tried to find the FIA GT mod, but couldn't find it unfortunately.
