    Hi again Steve! I am happy to say that I have solved the problem I described earlier and am now listening to music wirelessly through the 8000 speakers, it's amazing! Now, next task is to get the TV sound going through them! I have connected wirelessly via the Echo Dot but it's probably not the best way since the sound level is low and the lip sync is way out. Please can you advise on how I can connect better the speakers to the TV, i'm guessing it'll need another cable but was hoping to use just the one I have if that is at all possible. Many thanks! Hi Steve,
    The good work you have done for the community is admirable. Thank you very much.
    My Beolab 8000s do not have any sound system to connect to. I want to establish a direct wireless connection and get a quality sound without delay. For this process, is there any other product you can recommend besides Airport Express?
    What is the length of the AUX jack & phono cable you shared in the video? There is a distance of about 5 meters between the 2 speakers. Do you have a suitable cable for this?
    My second question is;
    I was looking for a sound card with a button on which I can adjust the volume and then plug it with a Bluetooth receiver. Thus, when the speakers are turned on for the first time, I can make a controlled volume adjustment and not damage the speakers.
    Do you think it is healthy for me to adjust the volume of the speaker only via the phone or computer? That way, can I use the full capacity of the speakers?
    Thank you very much again,
    Happy Easter.

    • @soundsheavenly
      @soundsheavenly  2 года назад +2

      Thanks for your kind words, also wishing you a Happy Easter! I can supply cables in any length up to 20m long, there is no loss of sound quality or volume when using the speakers in Line mode directly with a portable music streamer like Airport Express. You can also use Google Chromecast Audio, Audiocast M5, Tibo Bond Mini or any Bluetooth receiver for wireless music from your phone/computer to the B&O speakers (sorry I don't sell these devices, only the cables!)
      This cable will allow you to connect any of the devices listed above to the Line sockets on your Beolab 8000 speakers: soundsheavenly.com/line-in-connection/77-241-minijack-to-beolab-line-in-using-phono-rca-sockets-one-cable-for-two-speakers.html#/2-length-1m

    Hi Steve!
    Thanks for a very informative content.
    There’s a tricky situation concerning a pair of those Beolab 8000’s I’ve got in my disposal - hope you could give me a helping hand. So, I’m considering to use these speakers for 2 separate purposes only:
    1. with an Apple TV via an analog-optical adaptor (watching IPTV, RUclips, etc. on my TV)
    2. for AirPlay2 audio streaming from an iPhone just like you shoved on this video (using an old AirPort Express).
    Could you please advice how to properly construct this “Beolab 8000 & Apple TV & AirPort Express” infrastructure so the 2 of the above-listed purposes do not contradict each other and work separately with no probs?
    Thanks in advance!

      Hi, thanks for your enquiry. Please connect the speakers to an Apple Airport Express as explained in this video. You should then be able to stream sound wirelessly from the Apple TV to the Airport Express without needing any connection between the Apple TV and the Airport Express. Thanks! The speakers need converting internally before you can use them on a different voltage. Please speak to you local B&O dealer or repairer for details of the conversion, I apologise that this isn't something I have an involvement with. Once the speakers have been converted, then I can provide the correct mains cables to connect them.

    • @soundsheavenly
      @soundsheavenly  4 года назад

      Hi, the speakers should only have a direct connection to one device at once, so the best option is to plug them into the TV and keep the TV powered on when playing music, unless you also have an audio system that both the TV and the Google Chromecast can connect to? A streaming music system like B&O's Core or Sonos Connect is ideal here, as you can cast to it from your phone, plus these devices both have extra inputs to connect the TV audio to play to the speakers.

    I have set my 6000 speakers up to a Chromecast Audio and it works.
    However there is no way to control the volume other than the Home-app, and the speakers seem to want to play at full volume, meaning that even at 1% volume it's very audible and at 3% it becomes quite loud.
    Is there a way of turning down the volume some other way, making the app volume control less "sensitive"?

    Hi
    I have some problems with my airport Express. Have been told that the reason for my airport express losses connection to my WiFi is due to to many different WiFi in the building I live in. What are your thoughts about beosound core or are there other good alternatives ?

    • @soundsheavenly
      @soundsheavenly  5 лет назад

      Hi, all wi-fi music players (eg. Airport Express, B&O Core, Chromecast Audio, etc) can suffer from this issue if there are too many other networks in your area. I would suggest "scanning" for available networks using your phone, to see if there are three or more consecutive wi-fi channels free (eg. 3, 4 and 5) then you can set the music player to the middle one of these (in this example channel 4). If there are no free channels, changing from 2.4GHz to the newer 5GHz wi-fi band may give you more space to add the music player if your player supports the 5GHz wi-fi band. The last resort would be a cabled connection to the music system instead of wi-fi.......

As I mentioned in my original post, I bought a Denon AVR-S960H as an AV receiver and also drive my 6000's. Realizing that there wasn't pre-amp output to send to the BL's, I began wondering why I needed it in the first place. So I just returned it. All I am trying to do is connect my BL's to my TV via Bluetooth, similar to how you used the Apple Airport Express via an internet connection. My TV is a Samsung 4K Smart TV and can connect to most any Bluetooth device. Would you have a recommendation for a "hi-fi" capable bluetooth receiver for this application? I have looked at the Bose SoundTouch Wireless Link Adapter ($150 US), but I'm not a huge Bose fan. I know there are many other options available, I was just wondering if you had an opinion on a device that is hi-fi worthy. Many thanks for what you do!

      Beolab speakers can only have one direct input, so the answer is to use an amplifier or music streamer with multiple inputs, this works well. I'm sorry for my ignorance because I'm not very well educated on the subject, is there any way to make them work in "stereo"? I mean that the right one works by putting it adjusted on the "right" and the left adjusted on the "left"? is there anything today that can make them work with modern devices directly as if they were connected to the original device? thanks in advance for the response! thanks for the reply but maybe I expressed myself wrong ... I mean that doing so using the jack directly into the smartphone the audio coming out of both beolab has the same sound adjusted to "left speaker". Because let me explain, usually as well as in headphones example, the left speaker makes the play mostly the instrumental part and the right one mainly plays the vocal part (or on the contrary now I do not remember) and this is the problem let's say, from the audio that comes out of the beolab you hear only the "vocal", from both without one of the two play the "instrumental"... I hope I made myself understood and I apologize for all the chaos created 😅 I would like to understand if there is a way to make them play normally using the rca outputs or with other ... thanks again🙏

    • @fons78
      @fons78 2 года назад +1

      I have the feeling I (just today) wanted the same as you and possibly you mean a bit different than you say. If you mean you don't want to wire the Airport with internet.
      The AirPort Express needs to be "fed" with internet connection otherwise it can't transmit with your phone. Your phone will see the Airport but it can't beam any music to it...The solution is very simple. No wires are needed, but the airport express does need wifi, which is simple.
      In the AirPort express App on your phone you set the Airport Express up to EXTEND the wifi network in your home. For that:
      Pull the power plug of the Airport express
      push the reset button on the back and keep it pushed while replugging the power until the light starts beaming.
      DOwnload or open the Airport Express app.
      Now in the AirPort express App you start setting up the Airport Express and it gives you 3 options.
      There you choose for EXTEND the network
      Choose your home network and enter the password of that router.
      Now your Airport Express will be on the same wifi network as your phone.
      Connect the AirPort Express with your speakers with a cable to the 3.5mm connection
      Grab your drink from the fridge or cellar
      Play your music via AirPlay.
      Start the party

    Nice description. You think its possible to connect the beolab 8000 to the sonos amp?

    • @soundsheavenly
      @soundsheavenly  5 лет назад +1

      Thanks! Yes, you can use the Sonos Connect:Amp with Beolab 8000 speakers, but the cheaper Sonos Connect is the best option, as this is intended for use with powered speakers like the Beolabs. Please feel free to get in touch at steve@soundsheavenly.com and I will be pleased to confirm how to get the speakers working with either of these Sonos players!

      Sounds Heavenly If using Sonos connect, does the volume follow automatically or do you have to keep the volume pretty high on the speakers?

    • @soundsheavenly

      @@phase2design The B&O speakers don't have their own volume control (unless you have the flagship Beolab 5, 50 or 90 speakers), so the speakers will follow the volume of the Sonos Connect.

    Can i use an Apple TV (for sound only) in the same way as an AirPort Express?

      The simple answer is No. Airport Express is the option for a wired connection to Beolab speakers. Apple TV works differently, but it won't work in this setup.

    • @soundsheavenly
      @soundsheavenly  2 года назад +1

      The aim is to get wireless sound from your phone to the speakers, which this setup achieves. The Airport Express can either be linked wired or wirelessly to your router. Don't forget that the speakers will always need mains power, so they are never completely without wires...

    • @davidlarson9125
      @davidlarson9125 2 года назад

      That was a stupid question on my part, I realize there will be wires to the speakers and I totally spaced the wireless phone connection. I wish I could see what the other wires are connected to better to understand the pieces and links. This is where a diagram would be helpful. .
      I actually want to connect this to my PC computer not my phone. I'm having problems finding the Chromecast device or some equivalent you mentioned but haven't tried online yet as I don't have confidence I will order the right product and I hate ordering anything online (yes, I'm a bit of a Luddite). Also, doesn't B&O make something like this for about $1,000? I have yet to go to B&O in Beverly Hills to find someone technically proficient enough to give me a proper answer. A lot of the salespeople are young and have no technical or legacy knowledge beyond what they sell. :-(
