    I have a similar drone (SMRC M21) with a motor that stopped after a fast descent. I don't think it is the gear like you show since the prop spins freely. I will try a motor replacement. To get the motor out, I had to unscrew the whole body (lots of screws). The motor is positioned horizontally using the same gear setup. Measuring the motor, it appears to be a bit larger than the E520's (8.5 x 23mm vs 8 x 23mm).
    The video was pretty good including the close view of the internals. Thanks.

    in order to place easily the gear, you should desmantle the blade first and attach shaft and gear outside the drone. Once you have shaft and gear connected, and installed again in the drone, you can reattach the blades.

    Liked your video sir, It took me a long time to find someone else on YT that realized the weakness in these small drones. The problem is with our throw away society most people dont want to take the time to fix a drone worth a $100. I got a Holystone HS161 and had the same problem ,and the Holystone company dosnt sell the parts that you need so I had to do what you did. Well Kudos to you and hopefully with your video you can keep a few helpless little drones out of the landfill . p.s. In the the future NEVER test your drone by holding it down you will burn out the ESC.

    Why should we put oil on the eachine e520s gears 14:25

      To prevent wear and tear on the fragile plastic gears

    Great walkthrough, thanks! I'm gonna do this fix myself because the propellors don't move freely. My drone does fly though but comes down every other minute. I figure this might be the problem. In your video you say to use some kind of oil instead of grease. But when you open up the old gear you do see some kind of grease in there? Is it silicone grease? Because I have that and don't have any oil in house. What kind of oil did you use?

    • @vcamnowaa
      @vcamnowaa  3 года назад

      @Time Lapse you can use silicone grease Just put a little bit on the gear and drive motor gear. The oil I use I bought it from Amazon

      @@time_lapse almost but it doesn't dry out and get gummy like WD-40 I would just use the silicone grease if you have it as it will do just as good if not even better because of the slightly thicker viscosity

      So I opened up two arms and found 1 gear is indeed torn. Must have happened from a few run ins with a tree or something. So now I just need to wait for the new gears to arrive. Repair seems easy. Might not be a premium drone but the easy fixing on this thing makes up for that :)

    I have a question about this drone. Why does it get hot at the part where the memory card goes ? Does it get hot on your drone ?

    My drone gets a little hot on the part where the gps is at. It happens when it is on. Is it normal for the gps and the memory card slot to get hot on this drone ?

      Mine does that too I think that's because the wireless transmitter is located in that area

    I have a problem with my eachine e520s . my eachine e520s takes off but it could only fly for 1 meter and it won’t lift in full throttle. All the four motors work I checked the motores so many times. And also the gears . And it is not the motors or gears. so is the problem the circuit board or the gps ? .... the battery is not the problem because my drone can fly for 10 minutes and charge time is 3 hours.but my drone just won’t fly correctly . Please help ! What do you think is the problem ?

    • @vcamnowaa
      @vcamnowaa  3 года назад +1

      How old are the batteries in the controller? Mine wouldn't fly higher than 1 meter and it was the batteries. Another reason it won't fly higher than one meter depending on the signal range of your phone or tablet the signal might be too week The GPS circuitry rarely goes bad only known parts to fail is the camera ribbon cable and of course the gears. Has your drone crashed landed at all? Its possible one of the antenna wires may have popped off inside the drone

      @@vcamnowaa when the battery of my drone is 80-100 percent it flies and can lift high. I flew it 20 meters high and 20 meters away but I can’t fly it at high speed because the drone will struggle more to self level . When the drone is at -80 of battery the drone will lift slowly or it won’t lift . The drone will only lift fast only if the drone spins to the left. If the drone stops spinning then it will lose altitude. I’ve even have a problem that sometimes I can’t even turn off the drone I have to desconnect the battery from the drone . I think the problem is the circuit board the circuit board is defected . My drone just won’t fly correctly.

    I just found out the circuit board is really the problem because I noticed that the circuit board over heats .
