- Your standard early-90s sword-and-sorcery affair. Although I think this is like The Klumps or something in which David Warner plays all the roles. I could be mistaken.

This movie feels like muppet movie without the muppets.
Muppets that aren’t puppets.
The muppets are there trust me
Basically this movie is like a tone down version of munchie 😊
Good observation. It needed Muppets.
brilliant
Rest in peace David Warner. I'm watching this in honor of his memory tonight.
He was great as Jon Irenicus.
@@MinscFromBaldursGate92 And Evil from Time Bandits
The man who thought whispering was just so much more dramatic.
One of the absolute best. Titanic, Time Bandits, The Omen, The Man With Two Brains. He knew fantasy, horror, drama, comedy, live action and animation. What a loss.
A year later and he’s still dead… damn you death!
Prince Jumpjugs: "Athena was always a princess!"

That scene with Richard Kind felt so out of place that they might as well have started dueling with lightsabers while Klingons and Charlie Chaplin had a pie fight
... I'd watch that.
Okay, not gonna lie, the song Kevin Murphy sings with himself as four Tom Servos is genuinely lovely. Dude has a great voice!
There's a bit at the end of Mole People where Tom starts singing Oh What A Beautiful Morning from Oklahoma and Kevin's voice blows me away every time.
Servo's singing?
"It Stinks!"
Just kidding. I'm in love with his voice and in awe anytime he gets to sing!
Cheers from Canada
"I'm strong and I'm savvy and I've got THESE"
If you haven't already, you should look up the "United Servo Academy Chorus" song
not to mention that it takes some real musical knowledge to write a "round" like that with multiple voices.
I like the Batman toy commercial where the Batmobile's weapon doesn't actually succeed in bringing down the house of cards and so they just ram the car into it.
They were very thick cards.
It was a stacked deck. . .
The deck of cards would land up being Kenner's best unused idea for a playset.
Yeah that commercial hit me in the nostalgia feels.
Nothing warms the heart like watching a former child slave being taught to panhandle!
By a piss throwing spy!
Spare some coffee?
Holy fuck. Yes, that is the Strange Boy who ran off screaming into the distance in Robin Hood: Men in Tights. That was his first roll. This was his second. He has established a fairly healthy resume in the intervening years.
All I can say, having heard that, is "What an unusual child..."
"Don't I know you?"
"Aren't you me in another role?"
My sides split. XD
Archimedes last words were "Dont disturb my circles!" before being killed by a roman soldier. Marcellus, the Roman consul at the time in command of the army, was furious that Archimedes was killed, as he wanted him captured alive to help build weapons for Roman wars.

I knew that voice sounded familiar, it's Jon Irenicus!
Also - Pearl calls Crow 'Art' as an in-joke from the creators - in an earlier episode Joel introduced him as 'Art Crow' in a reference to Art Carney in The Honeymooners, and Best Brains received a picture of Crow from a younger viewer who missed the reference and thought Crow's real first name was 'Art'. Pearl calls him 'Art' in reference to that.
I love that Pearl kept the reference going.
@Adam V I hope YOU r still alive Adam of V!!
Thanks for that. I have been wracking my brain for decades trying to figure out why Pearl calls him that. Appreciate the info.

For some reason, I'm particularly vulnerable to any gag that involves a person being excessively startled by something. I really hated Pearl's part when I watched this back in the 00's. Now, somehow she hits a perfect unique note, and I love it.
Same! I appreciate her now that I’m older.
Same, for me, it’s probably because I’ve turned into her, as far as humour goes. But I never found Clayton and Frank funny either. Always loved Bobo and BrainGuy
She's back in the newest episodes now.
@Adam V It's fun! Season ticket holder so I've certainly seen my share of games. Nice thing about hockey is it's generally always fun, even if you're down, and I haven't really seen many blowout losses. Really liking the trades Francis made at the deadline, though it was hard to see Johansson go.
@@balkthor Sabres fans are in a similar vein. Buffalo hasn’t made the playoffs in 11 seasons, but they’re really into the game and have a devotee fan base
I feel like David Warner is a good actor who just needed cash and was at the "I will literally play multiple characters unironically" level
David Warner is a got dang treasure. Villain from Tron, voice of Jon Irenicus from Baldur's gate, dude just loves nerdy projects while always remaining high-brow British.
@@balkthor It's a rarity in MST3k to have an actor of his caliber in the movie being riffed. Warner brings a certain level of credibility, even to Delta Knights lol.

I love how when they turn the Loaner Crow’s radio on, it plays Melissa by the Allman Brothers Band. Very unique choice that makes the scene all the better, and a great song too!
Side note: Steve Alaimo, who portrayed Rod Tillman in “Wild Rebels,” had a fairly stable and rewarding career in producing music with groups like “31st of February,” who recorded a number of songs in collaboration with one Gregg Allman.
Riffs on the Allman Brothers’ hit “Jessica” featured prominently in the MST3K episode “The Thing That Couldn’t Die.”
See? It’s all connected!
@@dougjb7848 Oh COOL!!! I had no idea. 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩

I swear, the "Loaner Crow" is one of the funniest things that MST3K ever did. Love it.
It's got a radio!
I almost died laughing when Crow comes back and tells Mike they need the loaner AMC Crow back because some guy's Crow got totaled by a semi implying Crow is some kind of line of production car.
“To have said goodbye to things!”
I really wish they would have had it last longer in the episode, maybe even make a few riffs in the theater
yes, loved the loaner Crow. The rest of the episode did not live up to it -- For medieval MST malarkey Deathstalker II was much funnier
"Are we being attacked or entertained?" That line made me laugh until it hurt.

Every fantasy film should feature Richard Kind.

The smell of this movie still lingers in my house. Thanks a bunch MST3K.
This movie was ok-ish for a B movie fantasy until the master dies then the movie takes a sudden drop for bad.
It's definitely higher quality than most of the movies the watch.
Not sure where to place it; it's at least as good (or not as bad maybe?) as Aragon.
I STRONGLY disagree. To me, this is easily worse than crap like Deathstalker and Ator. It has better(?) sets and costumes, sure; but any added production value here is just misused or wasted.
Sword and the Sorcerer is LOTR compared to this garbage.
Merlin's Shop of Mystical Wonders is on the same level of being a smelly pile of stupid fantasy cliches done in a uniquely clueless, irritating way; but that's only like 1/10 of the movie so it gets more of a pass.
Something about this just makes me viscerally hate it instantly.
@@Zycyzyx lol I agree. They throw so many cliches on top of each other and it all makes no sense. So many prophets and spy networks and destinies and long lost undercover princesses and bla bla bla. The whole first third with him and the old man is infuriating. The whole cliche of prophets writing of his arrival etc. And the kid actor is completely charmless.
The Master!?! Torgo must've been devastated

@5:31 Just to be clear, if you take a mint over a cigarette, you were never a smoker.
So I guess rather than getting one David Warner for the whole movie they got two David Warners for half the movie.
I remember getting really pissed off at the ending. I remember “he’s right you know” being mocked too. Here for David Warner, btw. Amazing job, as usual. RIP.
Me about 30 minutes in: Wait I know that voice. There's no way that's... oh, that is Richard Kind... well that's one of the more successful actors that appeared in one of these movies
One of the letters they read at the end of an episode was from a little kid who drew a picture of Joel and the bots and wrote their names above each of them and above Crow, instead of "Crow", the kid wrote "Art".
True story: I was in Ohio....Rock and hall of fame...was discussing a random band with some people and when it came time to go I just randomly said Loner Crows "To have said goodbye to things" as a joke. And discovered a few MSTies in the group of folks. This was long after SciFi cancelled. So we spend another hour discussing our favorite episodes.
That's cool!

Oh my god, I'm not sure how it ended up in anyone elses hands but I'm pretty sure my Dad taped this. I remember as a little kid seeing this on the tv and changing the channel to cartoon network and then quick changing it back when I realized the VCR was recording. I know we sold most of our old VHS tapes at our yard sales so maybe it ended up here that way.
That's funny! But no, this isn't your dad's taping...it's my own, and it was my ex's kid who changed the channel while I was recording. I was in the other room and heard commercials that didn't sound familiar, so I went running back in.
RIP David Warner. I didn’t know that you were such an accomplished actor
I remember groaning as a kid whenever a guest appeared in Joel or Mike's place, but honestly, Pearl's actually really funny.

So... wtf are Huckleberry Hound's alternate names? You can't just leave an enquiring brother hanging like that.
Dunno if this is what they mean, but according to Wiki, Huckleberry was developed by Tex Avery in 1958 from a 1953 character of his called "Southern Wolf", who was an antagonist in some Droopy shorts. Can't find much else on a quick search for alternate names for HH.

I remember being maybe a teenager or pre teen and watching delta knights on sci fi and thinking this would be a great mst3k. I saw it a little bit later. I'm now here drinking and smoking because I have off tomorrow and I'm trying to relive my youth for a night.

I'm two thirds through this and I just realized what was bothering me about this movie: this movie is almost exactly the same as the Dungeons & Dragons movie! Same plot, same things happen in exactly the same places almost. Switch that elven village in D&D for the "forest people" in this for instance
And the upbeat portion of the soundtrack is a rip-off of Empire of the Sun.
also both are terrible.

Ditto! I have it on tape but my VCR died several years ago. Sadly, it may never get an official DVD release due to some complicated rights issues.

Per Wikipedia, in 2017 "Warner expressed enjoyment at being in the movie after his amusement at it being featured on MST2K.". Pretty cool, huh?
Well, if you've got to have somebody in your movie twice it might as well be David Warner.
David Warner: The actor so nice, you hire him thrice! (Including the narrator role)
Like the idea of the Delta Knights turning into one of those organizations you would care less about unless they hold one of these charitable functions.
David Warner is actually held in high regards for his acting. I'm sure he repressed the memory of being in this film.
Apparently he rather enjoyed it and was amused at it being riffed on
