I watched your video on trout magnet rods. I bought the crony, and it did pretty well. Top tip measures 85 mm. Had already bought it before your review . Now I have order 2 of the plume rods. I can't thank you enough. I am trout magnet obsessed. Have Bern ever since I watched your video on you trying to cast a trout magnet. Thank you so much again.
Got mine at the end of January on looks and specs alone. LOL Feels like a magic wand that casts exactly where you're looking at all by itself. Sensitivity is exceptional. I'm in love!
I have the Teton 552 as well and the soft/solid tip makes vertical jigging a nightmare. Wondering how the tip compares? I mainly need something for crappie from my kayak. Mainly throwing 1/32 and 1/20 jigs
Awesome combo! That rod is something else! Just not sure what to pair it with? Maybe a curado or dark wolf or mansory or something heavy like a 50xt Calcutta? looking forward to a rod that makes a zodias feel heavy lol! I’ve just ordered one of these and I wouldn’t say they are cutting edge Mitchell zero gravity rods were a similar design with larger diameter blank in the 90s! Edit-the plume in spinning is ok in its layout but the bait cast version definitely needs more guides! Sure you can use it as is but there’s better action in the blank with correct loading!
It WAS my secret. I put my 23 Calcutta BFS on it and it casts like a dream. Accuracy is great. Sensitivity is a good as my Dobyns or better. I landed a 2lb bass and a 3lb freshwater drum. No drama. Big fan.

I was going to buy the Delicacy and the FOCOSO bundle, for ultralight and slightly heavier BFS use. I am glad to see they are improving this budget options for rod just like they are doing for the reels.
To those who are not able to order the casting version of this rod because the webpage notes it cannot be shipped to your state. I contacted Mavilos. They advised that the casting rod is out of stock. Expect more inventory in August.
How would the mavllos delicacy compare with the plume in your opinion? Would it be fit for trout magnet casting? I'm looking to buy one ul rod. I can't seem to decide just yet 😅

they have actually been getting my stuff to me faster now. But heres a tip, the more expensive the item, the faster it will get to you, thats been my experience
UPDATE: The Mavllos representative sent out the replacement, no questions asked! It pulls in bass for sure! Im highly impressed. Original: I'm bummed. I took mine out for the first time, hooked on a fish, and the rod snapped 12" past the reel seat, and that heavy taper. Still got the small fish! Mavllos is working with me so I can continue my testing!
@THEREELTEST - they're going to replace it. I had a small 1/32oz crappie jig on there, and a small 9" bass got it. No hookset, just a slight lean with the rod, and it snapped. I would have thought the tip would have broken first. The Mavllos rep said it shouldn't have snapped that easily in that spot, at least. I had fun for 1 fish at least. Maybe ill use size 10 hooks and a worm for baifish next time haha. I'll keep the ajing specs in mind. Thanks for the vids
When you come to CO, stop by Estes Park and teach me how to cast like this. After a year or more of using BFS, I still can't even begin to cast super light stuff like that!
It was cool, the seller actually put one aside for me and gave me a special link to check out that 1 in inventory. They had gotten in 4 additional ones. Pretty cool of them. I have a ton of respect! It came shipped in a hard PVC tube as well!
As to the taper and design of the rod 2 rod manufactures made them this way. Fenwick with their "World Class" single handed bass rod & Shimano, who had 2 models manufactured like this. Their SpeedMaster and their Beast Master. Both these rods are 1 piece rod, with the SpeedMaster having 1 & 2 piece models on their UL series. They can qualify for BSF BC and Spin Finesse rods.

Leland lures contacted me, and trout magnet is supposed to be coming out with a tungsten jighead that weighs more but probably the same size.

Thanks for the heads up. Managed to get one to the UK and I managed to cast 1gr plus clip easily. Definitely a great rod for mini lures.

that taper is actually reminiscent of fhe Shimano baitcasting rods of the late 70s - early 80s
I remember those rods as a kid, it was back when Shimano made spincast reels and all of their reel had the "fightin drag"
Is the handle grippy? It looks slippery if your hands get wet.
water will slide right off it, but sweat and oil is like a different story

yeah this is an ajing rod made for tiny lightwire hooks. You might be able to get a refund from aliexpress
