- Kerbal Space Program 2 has some cool wing features, so it seemed perfect to build a U-2 spy plane.
PC Specs:
AMD Ryzen 9 5950X
RTX 3090
64GB Ram
2560x1440 resolution
Graphics on medium - Наука
Neat thing about the U-2 is that the "fuel pods" on the wings are actually for sensors! Another cool thing is that the U-2 cockpit is the same as the F-104 Starfighter's!
Lil known fact about U2 is that bono is a total wanker.
Doesnt the u-2 have a yoke instead of a stick?
@@plaady Yes, but the cockpit housing is the same
@@underseaowl7440 Wasn't the whole thing originally based on the Starfighter? Fuselage still looks very similar.
@@popuptoaster Yes it was. But it did'nt fall down so often
First time seeing this gaming channel. This guy is the splitting image of that Tom Stanton guy who does the the rc osprey other weird rc aircraft. It is uncanny
I mean I definitely see the resemblance and even kind of hear the same voice but theres no way their the same, this guy does gaming.
I can’t tell if this is a joke or not
@@connorcreach9642 what do you mean? I mean you can see the resemblance can you not? But their channel names arent the same.
Since you enjoyed this you should try flyout. Its specifically for planes but WAY more indepth and procedual
I entrust the TSSA to propel humanity into a new era of space exploration!
Thank you for your efforts, Tim Station.
I love how many mods they put into KSP 2. That wing mod was my favorite in KSP 1 for the last 5 years. So glad they put it stock into KSP 2
Yeah, thats the first thing i noticed. They basically put all the best mods into the base game.
the B-9 procedural wing mod right?
@@Julio_Tortillia id rather the game didnt crash once every hour and it had all the features that KSP1 had before they bothered adding all the mods
@@neonblack211 I don't think adding as many features as KSP1 has is doable without making it early acces tbh, KSP1 was developed for more than a decade after the early acces and it was really bare bones aswell. I just don't think any engineering game ever will be any close to completed in the early acces stage, it's just not possible.
This game will probably be a black sheep for a very long while until they catch up to the first game.
@@Tacticaviator7 But back then they had to start from zero. Now they started from a finished product and made it barebones 😀
It's a shame the early access price is so high.
For the level of performance and content it’s ridiculous. My only theory is that they ran out of money and needed to push it out before they were ready so they could continue development
still worth it imo. the game will only improve from where it's at now
@@Fraplu So why pay for something that is broken now that will just get better in the future? Just wait till its playable
@@crispy_338 price will eventually go up to $60, and I'd like to experience the game improving over time myself. I want to be there while it evolves.
oh and I've already bought it and have like 5 hours of playtime so I can't really "buy it later" lol.
@@Fraplu I've decided to wait until the game is a bit more polished, and science mode is back in the game to purchase. I have hopes for the game to vastly improve over the next months/year. This launch though has been, less than optimal, to put it kindly, and I definitely don't want to buy the game now for almost full price, and never have it improve past KSP 1 with mods.
cant listen to the keyboard clicking
Wow, a U-2 was the first thing I built after buying the game.
What are the odds, I also built a U2. The atmospheric visuals must inspire something that can fly high.
@@Armadous I did too
I did as well although mine is a little heave because i made it very detailed and used a lot of parts for that
Great vid! Just like in early access KSP 1 in the early days, struts will be your best friend and the best remedy of wobbly rocket syndrome. 9/10 doctors recommend struts to cure WRS. Ask your doctor if struts are right for you!
I have just disabled wobblyness in the game files
today in ksp2 i pulled 215G in a plane and went to 100k altitude so i dont think the models are quite done yet
Sounds about right for KSP
Were you using a rocket to propel the plane? obviously there is something wrong with 215G unless you had crashed. But getting to 100K with a rocket isn't inaccurate.

Great Video Stan Tompton!
Always loved your content, been your greatest fan and watching since 2005.
I dicovered you trough reading the phonebook of Swansea, beautiful city by the way, beautiful people there.
I even subscribed to your only fans and patreon, love your extra content and fan service, real dedication right here!
here is some useful tips!
- the fuel tanks that you are using to offset the weight of the U2, are not connected to the main fuel might help to get a bit more out of that last stage
- i think you should be able to goto the tracking station and select the u2 from there(you can also do this whilst flying)
3:35 Did you actually resize that part? If so,...WOW. I don't own KSP 2 (still playing KSP 1 until most serious bugs are fixed). Binge-watching KSP 2 videos on YT to get a feeling for the new game.
I think that was a fairing
F5 to quicksave then F9 to reload fixes most glitches with KSP 1 & 2 check out Matt Lowne's recent videos for tips...
KSP2 is terrible. They put lipstick on a pig and called it a beauty queen.
All we really wanted was KSP1 better optimized with better resource utilization. In its current form, it is nearly unplayable. "Early access" is no excuse. I played KSP1 since 2011, and it was never this buggy, nor this resource hungry. I'd trade clouds, paint schemes, trees, and sound generation for a smooth running KSP1 in a heart beat.
God forbid you do fuel xfeed or add any struts.
Running on an engineering desktop that handles *everything* else I throw at it.
I supported with my $50, as a wishful investment. At this point I have low expectstions. Seems like many of the design never even spent time playing KSP1 judging by the complete lack of, or bugginess of some of the most crucial features for any longterm KSP player. You can tell their focus was the *new* player, by dumbing things down such as calling a 1.25m rocket a "small" as if differentiating 1.25m from 2.5m was hard to begin with.... All while completely missing the importance of things like struts and fuel xfeed. Give Squad the same funding these devs got and we'd have a usable product.
But, but… according to detractors THIS GAME IS UNPLAYABLE! Stop making out that you can have fun in this game… it’s making the detractors look silly. 😂
you should of just called this video putting a U-2 on roids and sending it to another planet
I stopped playing as soon as the same thing happened to me with the camera. So much development time for.. This.
Best way of getting planes to laythe i found is to build a main vessel with 2 symetrical docking ports and put it in space then dock 2 planes so you can tow them with perfect center of thrust.
More KSP2 !!! : )
I can't wait for SCANSat and other mods to get ported to KSP 2 so many possibilities
I envy you. How do you get it to run this good?
step 1: own a $700 graphics card.
Get a better pc. My 3090 runs it perfectly. Still a shit game as of right now tho.
@@luke0421 the thing is it shouldnt take a 3090 lol
Most likely it runs at 20-30 fps, but there is a very good frame time compensation making it look smoother
@@jshi3 I do tho
If you increase the game speed your camera will snap back to your main vessel. Otherwise its an annoying bug.
Also you're rocket is difficult to control because you only have wings but are lacking SAS modules & RCS so when you're out of the atmosphere the wings are useless. Adding both will improve stability a whole bunch!
I love how the video switched to classic KSP jank after the really smooth U2 build and flight.
I'm disappointed in the early access. I was early access for KSP1 and I don't think it was as bad. I hope they work out the major bugs quickly. Have they made update announcements yet?
Early KSP 1 was, well, maybe not _quite_ as buggy, but almost unplayable if you wanted to do anything with more than like 5 parts because the joints were held together with small rubber bands instead of bolts. Even now, it’s hard to make a swing-wing plane whose wings won’t just fold when you pull up.
Anyway, the first round of patches is supposed to be ready “soon”.
great video! would love to see a take on the Blackbird next!
There are often a pair of U-2 planes stationed at RAF (ex-USAF) Fairford, in Gloucestershire. I'm more or less on the flight path, but have never seen them :(
What happened to your diy joystick?
Got the same bug today. Very fun
Why am I discovering most of the RUclipsrs I watch end up playing Kerbal Space trigram after watching them for other content? LOOK AT MY NAME LIKE WHAT
"Gulp!" ~Kraken
Btw in the actual u2 they had to fly within like 4 knots because they either fall out of the sky or get ripped apart by exceeding their never exceed speed. This was called the coffin corner.
One thing I would like to see for ksp2 is IAS to get a better understanding of aircraft performance at alt.
kerbal 5 fps program
It looks exactly like U-2, i bet the control is actually good though
The Home key should recenter the camera on the craft. It worked for me last time I was in “orbit”.
For the Son of God will soon come in his Father's Glory, riding on the clouds to redeem the precious fruit of the earth. For Jesus is he, the King of Kings and Lord of lords. Read the KJV and pray for wisdom. Read Hebrews 11:1&6.
I'm not going to buy this game until developers will release significant changes that the game will look different from part 1. Meanwhile It's looking like the part 1 with some modes, so I'm just wondering what the developers did 5 years?
I would love a craft file for this! pretty neat!
There is a solution to the bug at the end of the video
Quick save with F5 and quick load by holding F9 and the camera will be focused on your craft again
"Think my pc is on fire..... just kidding! I'm just playing KSP2 at 20fps on a 4080
Dude killer landing!
Oh I get it this is your channel for posting videos that controlling people will get mad at you for posting on your main channel
Really liked this video because I've already binged through every good youtube channel already.
KSP 1 does not have that sensitive controls, seems like I would play with a remote if I wanted fly planes.
Yeah switching vehicles is a pain right now. You actually need to pause then go to the tracking station and select the one you want to switch to.
If you turn sas off for planes the wobble does go away. I wish the caps lock sensitivity button had a setting to modulate the level of sensitivity. Also the alt trim function is amazing yet broken you should be able to remove the trim settings instantly in the event you trim the craft wrong.
FINALLY YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
I am glad I did not buy a ticket for SpaceTim Inc
We just have to wait for the new updates. It was expected that ksp 2 will be buggy when it comes out. But when we get more updates ksp 2 will surely be one of the coolest games out there yet.
Even after a joke, might still want to check your PC isn't actually on fire.
they should of just continued with development on ksp1 and added the features from ksp 2
How about trying the later model U-2S with the longer nose and dorsal ventral pod?
Wow I like the customization for wings, and fuel tanks etc, I always found that a bit limiting in the current one. Can't wait to try out this game.
43,000 ft...maybe put more air intakes to suck in more at the high alt?
gotta build one that can fly 21,000 meters because that's what the real one can fly at
A real U2 can hit 24 km (80000 ft). You are going to need more thrust and more fuel.
I had this bug (and alot of others) too and all i needed to do was switch vessels with keys [ or ]
Hope you doin well mate. Nice to see you back.
Think so too
Thanks for reminding me not to buy KSP2.
today i pulled 1050G's in a small plane that never went above 2000M...
Don't be one of those streamers who must have their face on the screen at all times.
What a good potcast to roll next to some fusion 360
what are you designing?
Quit tip for planes. Turn off sas for planes to stop the wobble ^_^
PC on fire in the intro made me chuckle. Take this like +1 :)
It's available for free if you know how, do not support these rediculas prices for unfinished, unpolished, unoptimised games being released by lazy devs.
bro get it right, its the publishers who made it come out this early, and its also released for feedback purposes. don't have to be so dumb about it but ok, whatever idrk and also getting for free would be pirating, and that's illegal. and ngl its spelt *Ridiculous*
@aggrodriver Thank you for your correction, if you're happy being an alpha tester for $50 then you're a fool and also the reason so many games are now coming out running like trash and needing an extra year before they even resemble the game you've paid good money for. Did I spell all that correctly for you, sir?
@@BeeWarrior_ looks like you're just jealous because someone can afford a 50$ game lmao
@user-dr7ib4bx2k I'm gaming on a 4090, and I didn't buy it to run badly optimised games at less than 60frames. Also, for your information 60% of reviews on steam are also pissed, I refunded the game and downloaded it for free on torrent. I will once it is fixed reconsider it, but it is in a piss poor state currently. If you're happy to accept games in this state then you sir are part of the problem.
@@BeeWarrior_ sorry, I forgot that I'm not allowed to enjoy a game when you don't like it
My response to that rocket is "Moar struts"
why are graphics on medium XD you got a beast of a pc
I actually built one of these last night aswell as a SR-71
Pressing Capslocks gives fine controls at ksp 2 too.
glad to see im not the only one having that annoying camera bug!
Man you need some sound rejection filters on you mic lol
13 km kerbin would be about 63k ft real world equivalent
its expensive and buggy but i still love this game
Damn, Tom almost completed a single task. That's way further than I've gotten in KSP 2.
Hoping there's an update in not too long, this game is absolutely unplayable in its current state
Enjoyed very much!
👀🍿❤️
X-wing? Maybe a TIE Advanced?
Not having autostrut is a bummer but still nothing wrong with using the struts, im sure devs will implement it in an upcoming update
real
Man... KSP2 is such a disappointment. It's literally KSP with improved graphics which were maybe good 2010. Such a bummer.
the rear gear should be shorter to get it to set down just right. Too bad you can't get stall strips for landing like the real one
I had the same camera bug, so annoying
NASA needs to hire you.
They are missing a lot.
Wow that blueprint mode is really cool. Ksp2 looks to have crazy amounts of features, I'm excited to see all the cool builds people on YT come up with.
It'd be really cool if you could try Juno: New Origins
Tim Station Space Nation
The game is far to be finish for now.
It all went well, until it exploded :)
could you make a drone swarm?
What is that plane behind you
Where can I get that sweater?
How do you get the colored arrows to move the objects around?
At the bottom middle of the screen is some buttons. The default is the move/selection tool I think it's called. One is rotate and translate and you select that mode, then the part, and you get those move arrows.
welcome to 'early' access
Lost in Space😂😂
This is awesome.
strut you stuff mate LOL
The kraken lives on!
wow that's disappointing, those monster rockets on paper thin wings...

in the first 12 seconds dose he make fun with ksp2 destroy youre gaming pc. and a tiny ad for nasa
