Great video, one question, vacuum pulls air from plaster and that's how you get that sharp cast? But if you pull air in proces when you put plaster over wax how vacum is made after this ? And can you let us know where to get wax in granules? Thanks.
Hey man sorry for late reply. Unfortunately my company doesn’t allow me to share additional information on how we cast products. If was up to me I would love to help sorry again
Hi thanks for your comment. Sorry for late reply. we use 3 different sizes of flask for our castings small/tall/big I’m not sure of the exact measurements but for the burnout temperature we set the oven to run up to 720 degrees and that takes a few hours to reach then will sit at 720 degrees for about 12 hours and then come down to 460 degrees ready for us to pour the metal into the flask. I hope that helps and any more questions don’t hesitate to ask ! Thanks🙂
@@robpark93 hey hope you are doing good.. if it's ok can u pls ping me on my email as I need to tell you the full details of my work in case if u can help me.. thanks again😊
Instead of taping up the holes on the flasks, why don´t you cast a silicone rubber sleeve type of thing. You could then simply put that sleeve over the flask in one go and save time for all the flasks this would add up.
Hi Mark, thanks for the great video. Impressive set-up. Clean and well organized. You have the process down to a science and it shows in your cast bronze pieces. Just wondering why you chose classic plaster investment rather than ceramic shell? Is this for an architectural company? Thanks.
Hi mark. Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed the video ! So what we do here is completely different castings to the ceramic shell process and no it’s not for architectural company. We work for beardmore.co.uk
What is the duration of gypsum curing and the process of increasing and decreasing the temperature. At what temperature do you melt? What is the temperature of the plaster when it is melted?
How much would you charge me to do a lost wax cast of a small trinket if i was to send it to you made out of the wax product of your choice? It would not need to be perfect. In fact some air bubles and imperfections would be what I would prefer.
Hi bev. Unfortunately we don’t do private work currently but you could check beardmore.co.uk website which is the company I work for and see if there’s any products of ours on there that you are looking for 🙂
hey! is the slurry you made to coat the wax a ceramic slurry? also another qn: How do you make sure there are no air bubbles when the liquid metal is cooling? also This is such a great video to learn about lost wax casting! I am using it for a manufacturing part in my eng course
Hey! Yes and then the wax melts away in the oven which leaves the pattern inside the flask/investment. The air bubbles gets vacuumed out in the mix beforehand and we don’t get air bubbles form the liquid metal that only happens in the mix from my experience. Oh wow that’s awesome I’m happy you was able to get so much value from the video. Good luck with the course 👌😎
