I watched Flying Down To Rio for the first time, the night before last. I love it when a classic film can transport me. With this start to our duo's lasting fame, colour me shocked, stoked. In other words, transported. It was just an astounding pre-code beauty! To Fred and Ginger's enticing dance with charming song to those dare-devil, precisely choreographed, lovely ladies on those flying machines, giving Rio the show of the ages. Giving the folks of the time another show-stopper of 1933. Giving us today, the show of a lifetime!😌 I want to watch it again, actually.😁

I like it, but in an odd way, not thrilled with the leads but find Fred charming in his first real movie role (he is barely in Dancing Lady), and when they give Ginger some lines, she sparkles. That dance, the Carioca, is of such historical importance, not only launching Fred and Ginger, but also starting the change in how musicals were done from Berkley to Astaire.

@@thedriveinmoviehistory5327 Oh that it did! Can I say that I feel the exact same way as you..?😮 I also thought that Fred was very charming in his way and that Ginger did have a glow about her...not only in their lines but just their presence on the screen for the first time together. I did like the leads...they added an indirect mystery to Fred and Ginger... The Carioca is special for musical history, as you said, and it's a wonderful song apart from it's contribution.
