Looks better than a Golf wagon, more boot space than a SUV, drives better than a SUV, more fuel efficient than a SUV….plug-in too. Wow!! Perfect car. All boxes ticked!!! Get them here before Christmas please Cupra Australia!!!
I'd be happy to put a deposit on one of these tomorrow. Matte petrol blue, please. Just undecided on whether it should be the hybrid or the full AWD 2.0 turbo.
The Cupra Leon is one of the better VW family variants, it would be great in Oz, and outside beautiful Barcelona, a great place to test this vehicle. An interesting preview of a car that would/will do very well in Australia. Great review! Thanks!
@@therightcar No worries! I know you from CarsGuide! Excellent, looking forward to it 😊. I would like to see you review the KIA Stonic 1.4 I4 if possible. If I buy a new car, that one is at the top of my list. I have seen ChasingCars review the exact specification I would choose - 1.4L manual in base S trim - but if you can only get your hands on a 1.4L Sport automatic (for example), that's fine. So long as it is the 1.4 aspirated, not the 1.0 turbo, I am happy!
No worries@@therightcar 😊. Two things. One, the Rio will most likely no longer be on sale when the time is right for me. And two, I prefer the exterior styling of the Stonic. I think the Rio is lovely from the front and sides, not so much from behind. If I were to buy a Rio, I would find a pristine low kilometre used car of the previous generation Rio (UB).
Ordered the Peugeot 308 wagon last year nov'22. After completely poor service and no definite production date confirmed i ended up getting the Cupra, and in the end a lot happier.
@@therightcar agreed, but at over 4600mm it’s still that bit too big for me as I used to have the final model of the Fabia 81TSI with the 500 litres of load space and the 3 cylinder 1.0 litre triple and it is under 4300mm in length!
Already available in NZ so just bring it in as special order if they don't want to bring in a lot of them. Did you get told not to include it's Skoda family mate as a competitor?
Good point about New Zealand! And no, I didn’t get told anything. Even if I was, I wouldn’t listen! I just don’t see it as the same type of car - even though Octavia is a fantastic family wagon.
Auto mode (climate) for the win! As a result I never change the temp or fan settings. Cupra please bring to Australia! I think I’d get the VZe. Also, please put start button, and drive modes button on the steering wheel of the VZe!
@@therightcar does replacing the hybrid battery cost a lot? I know some Mercedes-Benz c350 e wagon, which also has a phev but it's ev range reduced to 75% after 6 years.
Sadly, I don’t think that will happen, they have indicated high spec would be all that would be available, if they bring it. There is still a base model Octavia wagon on sale.
Got the Formentor vzx, great car, but i came out of a wagon and wanted a small wagon. Only Mazda make , Subaru ugly. This sportswagon on would be a winner in Aus imho. . Price should be $65k D/A, But i guess theres a reason the R wagon has gone, so cupra probably wont risk it.
Hey sir cupra motors go to Australia wogan and people like one car 2024 cupra Leon sportstourer wogan cupra sandish Australia people I like car pensioners old people I like cars wogan

Haha maybe Christmas next year mate. Put it on your list.
I had the pleasure of driving one of these around Mallorca for a week and fell in love. Amazing vehicle!

I reckon you’ll be in luck in about 12 months time mate.

Thanks again for your continued support mate!
Loving your reviews Matt! I just found you yesterday from this video. I watched quite a few of The Right Car? videos last night!
Thank you mate. Glad you’re liking my content! Heaps more coming. Like… HEAPS. 😊

Yep, the hybrid version would pretty much tick all the boxes for me!
Nice! Hopefully it comes.

Where do you live mate?
The Netherlands@@therightcar
Looking forward to the opportunity to buy a small hot wagon. Best and coolest form of city/country driving
Let’s hope this one comes!

That's a great little car.
Excellent review Matt. Tempting option compared to a performance SUV. Although the Formentor is appealing.
I can see the appeal in both. The Formentor is a stunning looking thing. This is more practical though.
yep, bring it..was waiting for the Terramar but that doesn’t seem to be coming till end 2025/early 2026..
Yep exactly. It’s a while away. This would be a nice addition to the range.
Hopefully it makes it to Oz for 2024 with the facelifted range. The VZe is my pick.

Ha! Yeah apparently I’m a fiddler - a dude at Cupra told me 80 per cent of people use Auto mode!!
Thanks for your feedback mate.
@@therightcar I will turn on the heated seats, eg. last night driving home when it was 13° outside. Auto mode untouched for climate.
Any updates if its coming. Test drove hatch but boot is too small for me. Would be all in on this in about 6 months
I will literally put a deposit on a vzx right now if they confirm its coming to Australia 🤣
Haha! *insert Futurama meme here*
Love it. Can't wait!
Better than Golf wagon R, cause it has hybrid capacity.
I never use auto air conditioning
Haha me neither!
@@therightcar does replacing the hybrid battery cost a lot? I know some Mercedes-Benz c350 e wagon, which also has a phev but it's ev range reduced to 75% after 6 years.
Bring it here Cupra 😀
I reckon they will!
Looks amazing and better than the golf. Look how the brand has hit the ground running.
I think people would gravitate to it.
Thanks for your comment mate!
Been waiting for thsi
Hope you found the review interesting!
As the Golf wagon has gone, I wish Cupra could offer an entry-level 1.5 eTSI version.
Sadly, I don’t think that will happen, they have indicated high spec would be all that would be available, if they bring it. There is still a base model Octavia wagon on sale.
@@therightcar Will there be A Leon V wagon?
Please for the love of god bring this to Aus. Been eyeing off a Formentor for a while but 450L of boot space just doesn’t do it for me.
I think it’ll come. It’s a great combo of space and sportiness.
Yes bring 😊

There arent much dealers here in Sydney… service and warranty claim will be pain in an ass
Bring it on!
It’s coming! The facelifted model will be here in the new year.
Exciting, definitely going to consider this. Any idea of when we will see it?
Hybrid Wagon, now we're talking!!!
Yep!!
You left out the Octavia RS wagon.
Vz5? 🤔
No.

It's only a low riding station wagon won't sell. Anything EV not worth the money.
Last I checked low riding station wagons were amazing 🤩

Not if you are old too hard to get out of.
