You can increase number of cuts by scrolling the mouse wheel, this will smooth the edges, after you bevel you can find the bevel properties in the bottom left corner, just click where it says "bevel" you can see more info here docs.blender.org/manual/en/latest/modeling/meshes/editing/edge/bevel.html
I'm stuck at 1:50 because the bevel tool is not rounding out the edges. I tried to look into the bevel menu but can't get it to pop up, even after I have view > adjust last operation checked at the bottom of the window.
Perfect! Can you create more similar videos about architecture-building creation and different workflow styles, and techniques? For example, how to create a building in the Romanesque style?
Idk why but when i add the simple deform mod it looks nothing like in this vid, can someone help me and i applied scale to it to see if it helped and it did nothing
Seems the version change makes the plain being rotated on step 1 remain in x and y axis instead of x and z axis like the tutorial, so no matter if I bend base on any axis, it's never the right axis that we want. However if I never rotated the model and start something with a proper z axis, the bend modifier is working as it's shown in video
Hi. I'm currently following your tutorial. I'm new to Blender. I have 2 questions: 1. Seconds 0:40, When I change the number on the Z axis to 4 it turns out the object doesn't change to height, but when I change it on the Y axis the object changes to height. What's wrong with my steps? 2. Minute 4:00, when I click Bend then change the number to 360° on the Z axis, the object turns circular but upwards, not circular like in your video 😢. What should I do to get a circular object like in your video? please answer. Thank You
Hi, 1: if you rotate your mesh, you need to apply rotation, control+A "apply rotation" 2: just add an empty then in the deform modifier in "origin select the empty" and try again to see if it works
Hi! Your video is helpful, but I am stuck on the 1;33 mark. When I move up after clicking on that edge, it doesn't move up fully. I noticed you put Left x 3 on the screen. What does that mean?
First i moved the middle edge up, then i selected the 3 edges and control B to bevel the them, with mouse wheel you can change number of segments, left x3 means the number of edges i've selected.

I had no idea you could tell the knife tool to cut at straight angles, this is a major game changer! Thank you!
Glad you found this useful.
same here thanks.
At 2:20 every time you use the knife tool to make a cut, you have to press ENTER to confirm the cut. Then you can make the next cut. It worked for me.
you can also confirm it by the SPACE. and make new cut w/o confirmation with RMB.
don't thank 😊
Very elegant method, thanks for sharing ✌️
Glad you like it!
this 6 minute video took me over an hour to use i learnt so much from it lol
you should use the clamp overlap when beveling for an arch it will make it look better
Super helpful video, thanks so much! ✨
Glad it was helpful!
thank you Chuck very cool.
Extremely helpful - thank you
Glad to hear it
Great Video! Thank you so much! Keep doing the good work!
Thanks!
Très très bien, merci beaucoup !
Thanks, glad you like it!
Thanks for the video! It's very helpful. But i couldn't understand how did you curve the edges so smoothly at 1:47 . I guess i missed something

If bevel doesn't work try applying the scale ControlA/scale, also check your normals.

When i try to use simple deform it doesnt do the same as yours mine does something else what might be the issue?
Did you set to Bend?, also apply rotation of the object, contrl+A/rotation
Yeah i got it i just needed to add an empty to solve the issue....thnx for the reply !!!!@@chuckcg

Very helpfull thanks
thank you, i was using same technique but was facing some problems...now got it what i did wrong

@@chuckcg the problem is, i cant move it freely without compromising the shape...

2:26 I draw a line with a knife and I can't keep the knife. Why?
Make sure you don't have overlapping polygons on the surface area that you're trying to cut.
At 2:26 everytime you use the knife tool to make a cut, you have to press ENTER to confirm the cut. Then you can make the next cut. It worked for me.
hi when i add my array modifier mine duplicate backwards instead of on the side.. is this normal?
Try to change the axis x, y, or z
JMESH is a free addon?
Yes it is
hi when i try to extrude the edge at the end like you did my model keeps breaking apart
Press E + Z to extrude up and E + Y to extrude outwards.
@@bjoler2008 thanks will try it!

JMesh in 4.0 Not work ^^ =)
I use 3.6, many addons don't work in 4.0
