I am LOVING these 24 hour layovers lately! Definitely enjoying the flying at my new base, thank you all for watching 😀 I hope you'e having an awesome week so far! ❤ JJ
Great vid You got me watching some FA channels Funny they are all based in Dallas Yours the favorite Seattle is one place I want to visit There is at least one wooden boat building school near there Bummer on the eye Once when I came ot of a fast food place a peice of dust got in one eye Spent the 90 mile trip coming home trying to get it out Next day woke up with conjuctivitis Both eyes were close to being shut The TV was too bright so I put a pillow over my face and listened Had to drive to the DR By putting one hand above my eyes acting as a shield The DR was surprised I drove by my self Had no one to do that One of my favorite vids was when Eric drove you to the dentist
Before I retired, I was a Captain for United Airlines and I would take my crews to dinner at 13 Coins in Seattle. There are actually 3 of these restaurants in Seattle. One is located right across the street from SEA-TAC Airport and is good for those short overnights. If you're on a longer overnight downtown, take a Uber to the 13 Coins that is located near the Amtrak Station downtown. The restaurant itself is like what I would call a Yuppie Diner. It's open 24 hours a day and I would recommend sitting at the counter where you can watch the chefs cook over open flames. The crews all loved watching. After dinner, walk to the Amtrak station- it has been beautifully renovated and the seating area is stunning!
@@JettingJulia Benadryl saved me more than once in my years as a night nurse, when I was wide awake but desperately needed to sleep before a 12 hour shift!
Beware of habitual use of Benadryl. It and it's generic version is proven to contribute to dementia/Alzheimer's, along with a number of other drugs. Do the research yourselves.
Loved my SEA layovers. Never get enough of this city. If you get a chance, try the Seattle Underground Tour. Very interesting and apparently the city was rebuilt above the underground tunnels. It's like a buried city under the now-Seattle. "Skid row" is in Seattle and very interesting background of the mill workers back in the day. Also the city was named after a Native American leader, Sealth. Lots f history there. Did I mention "Salty's"? Awesome seafood and views of the City. Thanks for taking us along. Good memories.
The olympic peninsula is literally one of my favorite places on earth! If you ever go back to Seattle you have to eat at Bacco's, it has the best breakfast food I have ever had in my entire life! The waffles and the roasted potatoes are AMAZING!!!!!! Every time I go there, that's a must stop! Watching this makes me want to go back right now! LOL
I totally agree with the "the best way to see a new city is just to get out and walk"! I did that once in Oslo - 1 free day just walking up and down the streets.
As a plant lover, I am sure you would like the Volunteer Park Conservatory (Greenhouse) on Capital Hill plus the views from the park and the adjoining pioneer cemetery. Not to be missed are the Ballard Locks, North of Queen Ann Hill, (not walking distance).
Love this video, I don’t know much about Seattle but to see the space needle was cool. So I drink black coffee with the occasional cappuccino or thrown in. I am partial to a herbal tea, here in the uk we have a range of teas called ‘PUKKA’ and my current favourite is Lemongrass and ginger. I’m so glad your eye is much better now. Your pizza in the restaurant looked amazing and the girls behind you, they really made me giggle 😂 xx
I love these videos where you get to spend more time in a city and take us sightseeing with you. Seattle is definitely a place I‘d like to visit in the future :)
You could have spent your time before the Space Needle in the MOPOP (Museum of Pop Culture) right there. It's the weird building with the reflective exterior. Definitely worth seeing.
In case you haven't seen it yet, an attraction near the Space Needle is the Chihuly Garden and Glass museum. The large variety of colorful glass displays at this place simply blew my mind. Definitely well worth the visit.
Did the Dave Chihuly Garden of Glass exhibit in May 2014 (when I still lived in CA on a vacation to BC). That place is phenomenal! I'm planning on doing a driving trip from Southern Idaho to Seattle this fall!
Glad you were able to recover for the flight back! Glad that you got to explore Seattle in spite of allergic reaction! Safe travels and glad that you are able to get these types of trips that allow for taking in new places!
Super entertained 😊Thanks for sharing and caring for Luna❤ To bring her her own treat as you did to you and Eric just tells how she never leaves your thoughts😍
Indeed the Pike Place Starbucks is the first one. Did you try the Turkish delight sweets from the store nearby? Finally $42 to go up the needle? That's absurd. Last time me and my family were there was 2019 (pre-covid), it was free. We also had dinner at the revolving restaurant. Hope you feel better.
As a Seattle native, it's my duty to correct anyone who calls it Pikes Place. It's just Pike Place Market. No S. As for the pigs, if I'm recalling correctly, there were about 40 fiberglass pigs made that were decorated all sorts of different ways about 15 or 20 years ago and they were auctioned off for charity. It's fun because every once in a while I'll be on a walk and see one of the pigs on someone's front porch.
My brother Dave Brown was one the founders and owners of Left Bank Books. He’s passed away but he owned a University Book Store as well. That wasn’t the original Starbucks..that is just across from the Public Market. So fun seeing all this today. I’m a retired United Airlines F/A. But I’m old now. 😊
I also recall on Fifth Avenue they have so many trees that have been there for a long time they make a built-in umbrella during the springtime if it's raining....
What ever you do, try not to judge Seattle on the area you stayed in!! It's definitely going through a challenging time post-pandemic and with the homelessness problem! In fact it's probably the most challenging/dangerous area in Seattle. So glad you went and explored the market! The starbucks you saw wasn't the first Starbucks. The first one was just down the street from the bookstore and almost across the way from where you picked up the Amazing apple cider drink! Aren't those Great!?!? Hope you tried some of the others, as they always give samples!! Next time you check out Seattle, I highly recommend taking an Uber to one of the beautiful neighborhoods like Queen Anne (where theres the Amazing skyline view of Seattle that you always see in photos and movies), Cap Hill, Freemont,.. Anyways, I hope your feeling better! Allergies and anything with the eyes is so difficult! Love your videos!! 💚💙💚💙
Ive been working the past 2 weeks in Seattle staying at hotel near the Great Wheel. I didnt wait 2 hours for the needle. Im still here but heading to Vanvouver today. Im checking out that gum wall and hit the Pike Place market once more. Seattle is amazing! At night things cool off. During day we had hot days. I also went to that chocolate place. Amazing! Pikes Place is so busy and lively
What a great vlogg Julia! The flowers are beautiful 🌹 Ur hair looked so pretty, is it naturally curly? Love the way u have the bookcase set up along with ur office space. Im glad ur eye cleared up!!! Keep smiling hon😍✈🐕
WOW that shot from above @0:40 looks like a volcano erupting! Stunning! So sorry for the allergic reaction, glad the peepers are ok now. Those flowers are absolutely gorgeous. The gum wall...umm no thanks. I don't understand that concept at all. I love the arrangement on your shelf! Also nice Doylestown shirt you had on!
Seattle is one of my favorite cities, but it has gotten horribly expensive. If you like salmon, next time you're there for any length of time have dinner at Ivar's Salmon House, on the north shore of Lake Union. It's about a 15-minute uber ride from downtown. It's expensive, but it's the best salmon I've had anywhere.
You took advantage of this layover to the fullest extent, and I love it. Glad you enjoyed it and that your eye settled down once you took the Benadryl. Glad flying out of Philly is treating you well!
Great SEA sightseeing vlog! When you get a future Seattle layover, I high recommend Chihuly Garden and Glass, adjacent to The Space Needle. You love flowers and colorful things, so you'd most likely love the exhibits!
Oh my word!! My jealousy gauge got maxed out in this video!! There’s a very dear family friends of our out there in Seattle! The mom is a radio DJ for a Christian radio station out there. Yes, I was watching the crowd in the background in the video. 😁 Interesting that you visited the gum wall. Earlier this week I was listening online to the radio station out there and our friend mentioned visiting the gum wall too! So cool! Seattle is definitely on my bucket list!!! ❤️ Have a blessed week!! ❤️✈️
Wish I had known you were going to be there! I would have shown you around! Love that market! When you explore the shops, they’re on many different levels. My go to beverage is Vanilla Chai…dirty if I need the caffeine. Yes, that was the very first Starbucks. Love that epic bookstore. They have EVERYTHING in there!
Hope you enjoyed my city! And yes, they do light that tree by the Macy's! That whole area is called The Westlake Center. It's always super pretty there during the holidays!
Nice trip, thanks for sharing. A long time ago I was what was called a station agent for West Coast Airlines. We basically did everything from weather reports to tickets to baggage to loading planes. Took my train there at Boeing Field . Agent class was right next to Flight Attendants class. Had a great time in Seattle.
The first Starbucks is at 1912 Pike Place..little further down from the market enterance. If you don't go in, at least get a picture of the original Starbuck's Siren logo. A little more revealing..and brown in color lol.
Julianna, you give such beautiful Vlogs. Your videos are absolutely interesting and very educational. I hope your eye feels better. Thank you so much.❤
Enjoyed the vlog very much. Those flowers were just beautiful. The pizza looked really good. Glad you felt better after the meds & nap. Have an awesome rest of week & weekend. Debbie 😘
Hi Julia, I am glad your eye is very much better now. It looks like you are getting much better layovers than you were at DFW. Always good to see Miss Luna!. It looks like you're getting settled now. xx
DFW was a rot, plane hopping, multiple cities with shorter stays and unpleasant sign ins. Glad she’s out of that and can now have longer layovers and fly more to Europe and possibly the Caribbean.
Seattle looks fun, have never been there so enjoyed seeing your trip, but so sorry your eye mysteriously flared up, very glad it's well now. Probably the flowers, no real clue, wow, just thankful it's better now. Yes, I love your book shelves too, very nice!
Hi Julia, Miss Luna reminds me of the dog I had as a kid. When I was out in California 4 year's ago I used to go to Starbucks and get a frozen Coffee Mocha Colatta with whipped cream, yum
Great Vlog as always! Seattle is such a great city! That eye allergy sucks… it’s happened to me and it can come on fast. 🥺 Your bookcase looks great! Oh, my go to coffee is vanilla latte but almond latte as I’m lactose intolerant 🫢
Hi Julia The Original Starbucks Coffee Shop was at the Pike Place Market when you were walking at 11:15 it was behind you on the right. A tiny little shop. I guess you missed the Athenian Restaurant at the Market where Tom Hanks ate in Sleepless in Seattle. Maybe next time you can take a Ferry Ride.... Lived there for 20 years.
@JettingJulia The first Starbucks is literally on the same street as Pike Place Market. With your back to the market, look across the street and you will see a huge line. The facade does not look like a Starbucks at all. Also, a block up from the market is a great breakfast place called Biscuit Bitch. Great food and coffee and also fun.
Hi Julia - The pigs are probably an art thing - here in VA around the town of Leesburg, they have horses - same kind of thing - painted by local artists - likely there for decoration.
Loved to way you referred to your dog Jake in the PRESENT tense ("I love him"). We have a golden and sheltie mix at the "Adventures of Hazel and Louie"
Eek your poor eye ( my eye started to water looking at you ) happy to hear it cleared up but still very Strange. what a lovely lay over ,looks a gorgeous city to explore 😊. Wauw those flower arrangement looked absolutely stunning 😍 ( did your Flowers make it back ok ?) Thank you for Taking us a long. Have a Good day 🥰
Nothing beats a sunny day in Seattle. Also true that many other people know this, and they'll be at Pike Place Market on a beautitiful Saturday in the early fall. I'm sorry you didn't get to go up on the Space Needle on this day. I went to the top with my cousin, but that was 25 years ago. He probably paid then, but I doubt it was $32-$42 back in 1999. My coffee out on the road is idiot simple, an Americano, no room for cream. I just discovered you yesterday. You're a fun "hang". 😃
I also Love ❤️ Flowers! When I was last in Seattle, I wanted to buy some from that same stand you were at, but I was driving and had 3 days before I would be home and knew they wouldn’t make it. Thanks for sharing your journeys!
I wanted to go to Cherry Street coffee when I was in Seattle a few weeks ago, but unfortunately it was closed when I went. Your sandwich looked delicious. I went to a different bookstore in the Capitol Hill neighbourhood, and it was huge! It's always fun seeing you vlog at destinations I've been to/am familiar with!
Hi Julia, missed your vlogs I think it's been over a week since I watched one. Those flowers looked amazing,I also love fresh flowers especially the smell as you walk pass a flower market. So sweet of you to get a treat for Lunar. It could have been smth in the pizza that caused your allergy. Anyway glad it cleared up before the flight. Your bookshelf looks amazing. ❤😊
Hi there! Glad you had a good time in Seattle! I live north of there in Everett and love coming down there because there are so many interesting things and people. The pigs have slots for donations that are collected to sponsor various community projects in the Seattle area.
68'F... I am jealous. It is a cool 109'F here in DFW. It's been a while since I visited Seattle, but the last visit I did the underground tour which was interesting.
Julia, your bookshelf looks great!! I also have The Writing Retreat in my TBR pile. 📚📚📚 Your layover in Seattle looked so sunny and beautiful. You're right -- the flowers in the marketplace were just stunning. 🌻🌞 Glad your eye got better. I wonder if it was something in the pizza? Can't wait to see more reveals of your new digs and hope you get that international trip! 🥰🥰💕💕
I currently live in Seattle, and it is nice to see you enjoying the city. If that is the florist, I am thinking about it is my favorite and I have a wonderful husband that gets me a bouquet all the time.
I love vanilla latte as well. But if all else fails I get hot chocolate or just go and find a Starbucks lol 😂. Iced green tea 15 pumps of classic with a splash of lemonade ❤
Ciao Giulia... yes... definitely i really think that the allergy becames from the pollen of the flower ... happy that now you are ok !!!! i love this video veery interesting as usual !!!!! a hug to you and a cuddle to Miss Luna.... Bye !!!!!!!!!!! Grazie !!!!!!
Hi Julia! My coffee daily, is one Hazelnut in a regular coffee, my away from home trips are either 1 French Vanilla and regular coffee, or a French Vanlia Cappuchino ( from WAWA....lol)WAWA should have stores where you moved to...it's a convience store...
24 hour layovers give you time to visit a little of the city and also sleep. If only airports have places to sleep if you have a long layover or flight delay.
I don't think that was the original Starbucks. The first is located just down from the Pike Place Market entrance. I had Top Pot Coffee and Donuts when I was there. Highly recommended.
I just read in the newspaper that American Airlines is adding some new international flights from Philadelphia International Airport. I am looking forward to you sharing some of these new destinations with us
Nope, that is not the 1st Starbucks. The actual first location is long gone. The building it was in was torn down many, many years ago. Most people (including Starbucks) refer to the location in the market as the "Store #1" but that is only to attract tourists.
I am LOVING these 24 hour layovers lately! Definitely enjoying the flying at my new base, thank you all for watching 😀 I hope you'e having an awesome week so far! ❤ JJ
Me too
I am so glad ❤
Hi Julia,I love your videos,I would love to donate you and Derek a Starbucks gift card,I franchise my own store here in San Francisco!!!

You're a brave woman walking around Seattle.
I got robbed in Seattle!😮 Pike Place is the home of Starbucks!
seattle aint that bad. every city has their good and bad areas.
I'm so glad you're getting these long layovers! Sending good vibes for the international trip!!
Probably that gum wall, so many germs in the air 😅 let’s not blame the beautiful flowers 💐
The OG Starbucks is across from Pike's market. It's a fairly small & sells the OG merch. The Starbucks you saw looks too new.
What a great vlogg Julia!
The flowers are beautiful 🌹
Ur hair looked so pretty, is it naturally curly?
Love the way u have the bookcase set up along with ur office space. Im glad ur eye cleared up!!! Keep smiling hon😍✈🐕
Great video. Thanks for the tour. Glad to hear your eye cleared up. Nice job on the bookshelf looks great.
So glad to see you doing ok at your new base
WOW that shot from above @0:40 looks like a volcano erupting! Stunning! So sorry for the allergic reaction, glad the peepers are ok now. Those flowers are absolutely gorgeous. The gum wall...umm no thanks. I don't understand that concept at all. I love the arrangement on your shelf! Also nice Doylestown shirt you had on!
Ahh such a cool layover, J squealed when you mentioned the fish throw. It’s in the opening credits of “The Real World”
Julia, you have to go to the Middletown Grange Fair if you are back home before the end of the week! Local flavor for you guys!
Those flowers really were beautiful .
Hazelnut is my go to, with a pump of lavender! Awesome!
Seattle is one of my favorite cities, but it has gotten horribly expensive. If you like salmon, next time you're there for any length of time have dinner at Ivar's Salmon House, on the north shore of Lake Union. It's about a 15-minute uber ride from downtown. Loved Seattle when I was there, I was able to catch a Mariners game!!! Love the video Julia!!
Cafe Americano ☕️ is my fav almost anywhere.

My go to beverage is Vanilla Chai…dirty if I need the caffeine.
Yes, that was the very first Starbucks. Love that epic bookstore. They have EVERYTHING in there!
You always have a good time on these layovers
I always try, it's hard not too though!😊
Hope you enjoyed my city! And yes, they do light that tree by the Macy's! That whole area is called The Westlake Center. It's always super pretty there during the holidays!
Nice trip, thanks for sharing. A long time ago I was what was called a station agent for West Coast Airlines. We basically did everything from weather reports to tickets to baggage to loading planes. Took my train there at Boeing Field . Agent class was right next to Flight Attendants class. Had a great time in Seattle.
Yep that was the first Starbucks and it’s head quarters are in Seattle aswell
Cool video! Seattle is such a nice place. My go-to coffee order is either a cafe mocha or a hazelnut latte or in the fall a pumpkin spice latte!
Cappuccino with one sugar is my go to coffee order. I used to get almond flavor but most places got rid of it!
I hope you had a great trip to Seattle and I liked the views. Enjoy the rest of your week
Awesome Video Julia I always enjoy your vlogs
The first Starbucks is at 1912 Pike Place..little further down from the market enterance. If you don't go in, at least get a picture of the original Starbuck's Siren logo. A little more revealing..and brown in color lol.
There is an underground tour of the city. It was pretty cool. I think it starts somewhere near Pikes Market. Check it out.
Julia loving how you look in your Seattle ootd exploring your hair looks very stylish
Julianna, you give such beautiful Vlogs. Your videos are absolutely interesting and very educational. I hope your eye feels better. Thank you so much.❤

I really like a caramel macchiato (iced or hot) Great layover!! I ❤Seattle
The Dale Chihuly glass museum is right by the Space Needle. Next time give it a look. He's a wonderful artists and has installations world wide.

How sweet of you to say, thank you for watching!
I usually get a Columnian coffee with Caramel creamer, the mix of coca and the caramel is sooo good! French Vanilla is always a win too
I love the SeaTac area. One of my former employers was based in Tacoma. Got to go there 3-4 times & loved it each time.
I forgot to mention in this video but I used to be based at SeaTac as well, it's a beautiful area!
1st question answer : Coffee ice cream Mocha Caramel McDonald's - Soooo goood in summer time
I loved this video. So glad your eye is better. Love your bookshelf. Flowers are pretty.
Julia, your bookshelf looks great!! I also have The Writing Retreat in my TBR pile. 📚📚📚
Your layover in Seattle looked so sunny and beautiful. You're right -- the flowers in the marketplace were just stunning. 🌻🌞
Glad your eye got better. I wonder if it was something in the pizza?
Can't wait to see more reveals of your new digs and hope you get that international trip! 🥰🥰💕💕
Long black coffee. Which is pretty much my main type of coffee. When traveling or not travelling.
I love anything caramel when it comes to coffee! 🤎
If you love flowers and haven’t been to Longwood Gardens in Kennet Square PA yet, you should check it out. I love their flower displays.🌸
I just read in the newspaper that American Airlines is adding some new international flights from Philadelphia International Airport. I am looking forward to you sharing some of these new destinations with us
Maybe exposure to the gum wall can irritate your eyes? 😂 Great video.
Nope, that is not the 1st Starbucks. The actual first location is long gone. The building it was in was torn down many, many years ago. Most people (including Starbucks) refer to the location in the market as the "Store #1" but that is only to attract tourists.
Was born and raised in Washington and I am so happy I don't live there anymore but it will always be my home cause it's where I was born.
Really like your videos I was feeling down, but watching your videos make me feel good
Glad I could help 🙂
Yes it is the first Starbucks. I've seen it a few times when I go to Seattle. I hope you have a great day
Go to order is an iced chai latte with nonfat milk and light ice 😁
Cool... you're in my hometown... Nice!
