Sure, that first goal did end up in the top right corner. But people forgetting that first goal just simply shows how unnaturally good that other belter was
Think Cisse was one of those temperamental players who lets press/fan opinions get to him. Because he literally never returned to form after he was written off by fans, yet there's no denying he was a top finisher.
It’s common with strikers in the prem. Like what happened to Michu. He was remarkable in his first season but after that his element of surprise had disappeared.
@@simonsays5986 well said they lost pretty much the whole midfield to bigger teams at one point like look at the goals here all assisted by great passes/passers

Man as a Liverpool fan I'd love to see Newcastle back up in the prem, fighting in and around the top 6. Such a great club, its a shame to see what's happened to them. Their fans deserve better
Yeah, well thanks to the Fat Owner, Toon are already doomed before July. Sacking a manager, as per usual, Sports Direct mentality, they're destined for the Championship again. It's not so much Halcyon Days as Groundhog Days with Ashley owning your club. Just pray if he sells, he doesn't buy another football club with the money
Love how pretty much every one he scores is a wonder goal. The powerful drive v Villa, that tricky little jink and finesse v Liverpool, that amazing balance/composure against Swansea and that's leaving out many - including THAT goal against Chelsea.
He hasn't lost it. He just relies on quality service to match his early runs. Once Cabaye was sold he got nothing when or where he needed it. Hence why he was so often offside. If he got a run in the team with Wijnaldum playing I think he would score again
You may have been right for a little while after Cabaye was sold, but he's definitely lost it at his age now, similar to the way Rooney has. Shame Newcastle couldn't get the best out of him. Watching his technique compared to now is just unreal... seems like a completely different player.
He was always awesome here in Freiburg and the German Bundesliga. Like the first 6 month in Newcastle. We never forget Papis he was one of the best striker in our club history. Really sad what happened to him.
As someone who was only born in the 90s this season was my favorite season as a toon fan. Its the one season (apart from being in the championship) where I felt like teams actually feared playing us, even the top 4 knew it would be a tough game, not as in tough to break down but that we were actually a threat on the attack and would go at them. Best season.
@@Yourdad1412 We weren't relegated until 2016, while Pardew left in January 2014, when we were 6th in the league. True, the previous season was a massive collapse after New Year's, but that could well have been because of Cabaye leaving.

I really feel his best form is coming again, that header yesterday might be the start, it was a pearler, John Carver said he needs a scruffy goal, what I think would really get him going is in one game two absolute wonder-goals, he scored scruffy goals all last season and he's still faded, mind he still pulls the defences around and drags them out of position wonderfully he knows where the balls gonna come and is always in the right position, he was five times against Fulham and another 3-4 times yesterday.

You would probably only know this as a Newcastle fan watching all the games but from the outside looking in they were great
