      i still remember this the only season we achive the best after manager Glen Roader do it under owner fat Assley. when we qualify for Europa Cup, in that time, we back to square 1. fat Assley refuse to spent for big squad. no big signing, sell our best player 😭😭😭😭 then we struggle to retain our place in EPL... n i still remember new season we qualify for Europa Cup, 1st game EPL we beat Spurs 1-0, but Cisse fail to score penalty. that the signal we start struggle n the next season, we relegated...😭😭

    To even have the audacity to do what Papi Cisse did is mind blowing. There's not even a debate on whether he wanted to cross or not. He knew what he was doing and thats why its one of the most stunning goals in football History and against one of the best keeper ever.

    When I saw that Cisse goal I was actually upset that he scored that goal because I am a Chelsea fan and I was 10 years old that time now as I am 21 years old now I am actually impressed that he scored a goal like that because you will never see another goal like that in the Premier League in a lifetime.

    Even though I'm not a Newcastle fan, this team gives me nostalgia. Cisse and Demba Ba was crazy, Ben Arfa and Cabaye just made it even more special. I remember as a kid buying "Strike-It" magazines and they used to have a rumours page and a top 50 players page and I remember Ba being linked to all the teams in the top 4 while these guys were consistent regulars on the Top 50 list.

      @@homersimpson6585 As a West Ham fan, we were balling that year. Payet was incredible. Collins, Tomkins, Reid and Ogbonna was peak West Ham central defence in recent years. Oxford pocketed Ozil in that one match. Zarate Kid was there.
      Cheikhou Kouyate and Noble in the midfield too. (I remember Kouyate had an OP silver card on Fifa some time around there).
      And let's not forget about our boy Michail Antonio.
      That season is really nostalgic to me as a West Ham fan, especially that e.g. people like Spencer FC were uploading videos based on West Ham at the time too (Vlogs, Selfie Squad), also the end of Boleyn Ground too. It really went downhill from when we left Boleyn.

    Demba Ba was a beast for us!, ben arfa always hurt, yohan Cabaye should have been a lifer for us.. dam.. we had so much talent !? Why so much heartache??? I rode the emotional rollercoaster 🎢.. Mike Ashley really tortured me those yrs… im SO THANKFUL the sun is shining on us again!!! We owe nobody anything, we are gonna run through whoever gets in our way now.. epl takeback time.

    I grew up as a kid watching a fascinating Newcastle United F.C. of Shearer, Jenas, Ameobi, Bramble, Solano, and Duff. Still remember the 02/03 EPL season broadcasted on Morocco's TV.

    Thank you. Great memories. I remember howling with laughter at Carroll's performance on his return. Demba Ba was a fantastic player who went after the money at Chelski and consequently underachieved. At the time, he was the best striker we'd had since Shearer. And Perchinho, who got an awful lot of stick from some fans, was adaptable and always tried his best. A lot of respect for him.

    I would argue that this Newcastle Team is more impressive than the current one. They got everything right that season, the recruitment, the tactics and the luck with injuries. Would be a perfect season if they have finished 4th and qualified for the CL.

    I remember growing up with 11 lads in a boarding house and one of them was a newcastle fan. Half of us were the best group if friends and I remember him loving this season and me being a spectator to it. (I'm a Chelsea fan so it wasn't such a bad season for me either)😊

    I love when there is a cult team. Like all the stars aligned that season to give a middle-performing league team players of surprising quality, and unexpected results. Think Monaco or Leicester 2016, just knowing you're witnessing a once off and to enjoy it. One of the treats in a season.
