Recently removed a toxic person from my life, this advice is all true. If you don't use your boundaries you will get abused, it's as simple as that. When you ask for different behaviour you will get anger that you suddenly want to be treated properly. When you kick them out they loveee that *sarcasm* and if they are used to controlling you will fight tooth and nail to stay in your life and keep controlling you. Finally turning my electric fence on.
I am catching this video just now. And it is so true. There was a point in my last relationship where I should have had much more respect for myself. This is a very, very important. I noticed this whole "put your foot down". It was interesting: he loved me all while I was saying nothing. When I made an issue about his treatment? He flipped out and said I didn't trust him and such. You are correct about acting right this minute.
Sound advice - and delivered in a way that's easy to listen to and absorb. As someone who's been on YT for a while, can I suggest you put all your contact/blog details in the information box below the video, and make your screen graphics larger, bolder and leave them up a bit longer? If you put your links in the box people can just click on them. Thanks Natalie - your site helped me get through a bad time and I'm still very interested in what you do, here, on BR and everywhere else. Roz
Woman always suppose that men are thinking about the 'relationship' almost as much as women do. The stark truth is that men rarely analyse the relationship and go for weeks and months without giving it a second thought. The mistake that women seem to keep making is to assume that men see things the way women do, that men value love as much as women do. However in reality love for men is just a very small part of their psyche, but for women love is almost their entire world.
@blackandgoldone Interesting, mate. So, errrr, what's YOUR advice,,, ya know, from a 'mans' point of view, then? Do you even believe that a woman should LOVE herself before she can love/attend (to) a man? Seriously, what's so 'bs' about her message, which btw, is quite sound advice! Thanks. - J
When you are dealing with abuse and disrespect from multiple people for years or back to back the same cycle it will take a toll. And the feelings after it's all over hurt even more reliving it
I found your blog a few years back. It has gotten me through some very hard times.
I'm so happy I've found your channel.

Exactly Natalie! When you have no standards, then you will take up with ANYTHING and put up with it. Boundaries are important.
