    Fantastic job. I really liked the little wrap around the black piece does and the red rivets with the green. I'm usually an all black for everything, but the contrast on this looks really nice.

    I like your belt loop idea. One thing I do after I sand the edges of kydex is polish them with a green scotch bride pad, that takes all the sanding marks out and makes the edges shiny.

    I love good kydex work. It’s just a great sheath material and it’s an incredibly versatile thing. Some part of me will always prefer leather, but a well made kydex sheath is just as much a work of art

    Great job that looks awesome. The knife, the sheath, the colors. It all works great together. I also like the fact you made the belt loop removable, so the carry can be adapted to the owners preference. 👍👍

    Nice job! Maybe on another build consider molding a horizontally opposed spot for a small magnesium fire starter stick.

    Nice job dude. That is way harder looking and more involved than I thought it would be. Just bought a Trayvax Trek Field knife, but they're sheaths SUCK. Was going to try to make my own, but now I'm rethinking it. Hopefully I can find something on ETSY or something that will suit my needs.

    If you don’t want the discoloration/shiny stuff, simply put the smooth/non textured side of the kydex on the bottom when heating. Also helps if you don’t go much higher than 315-320 degrees. I use a cookie sheet covered in aluminum foil & my oven. I set the oven at 300 & check the temp of the kydex with an IR thermometer.

    Hi! I am French I do not understand all the American. I started the kydex cases 2 days ago. on some cases I have retention problems, and I have the impression that the kydex ''is not well pressed, badly molded''. is it due to the 2mm thickness? and I have the impression that the kydex sheath scratches the blades a little, what is this due to? Thank you for your answer

  • @KH-rt3ef
    @KH-rt3ef Год назад

    Consider guiding your kydex with a small piece of wood instead of your fingers when you will be working very, very close to the blade like that. If the saw bites or if there is any mistake, the injury could be painful and expensive. It is very easy to avoid, using tools. Stay safe. Great video.

    • @HickLif3

    I like the case, but think the belt loop will be the downfall. Why? As tight as the knife is in the case, it will forever be a pain to retrieve the knife because the loop will allow it to lift 3-4" every time you pull it out. Show us a video with it on your belt, and pulling the knife out one handed. Will be almost impossible. If the same loop were fastened at both top and bottom, to the kydex, it would stay in place for a much easier one hand draw. Pretty nice case otherwise.

    Резковатый угол (напоминающий "американское "танто")на ножнах, имхо, выбивается из общей композиции. Я б, его снёс нафиг! Иначе ножны несколькочудеродно смотрятся - не гармонируют с ножём и концепцией общей.😂

    This is a great video showing how YOU made a kydex sheet, but besides giving a visual demonstration of the steps you didn’t actually talk about materials needed, steps required, or anything about actually making a sheath. Yours is great but this is not an instructional video. Change the title bro. 😂
    Edit:
    You also include no information in the description. This video is one of the least useful “how to” videos I’ve come across in awhile.
