Fantastic job. I really liked the little wrap around the black piece does and the red rivets with the green. I'm usually an all black for everything, but the contrast on this looks really nice.
I like your belt loop idea. One thing I do after I sand the edges of kydex is polish them with a green scotch bride pad, that takes all the sanding marks out and makes the edges shiny.
I love good kydex work. It’s just a great sheath material and it’s an incredibly versatile thing. Some part of me will always prefer leather, but a well made kydex sheath is just as much a work of art
Great job that looks awesome. The knife, the sheath, the colors. It all works great together. I also like the fact you made the belt loop removable, so the carry can be adapted to the owners preference. 👍👍
Nice job dude. That is way harder looking and more involved than I thought it would be. Just bought a Trayvax Trek Field knife, but they're sheaths SUCK. Was going to try to make my own, but now I'm rethinking it. Hopefully I can find something on ETSY or something that will suit my needs.
Really nice work. This is a step above some of the other sheaths i see made online. I'm about to try my hand at one similar to this. Thank you for the video!
If you don’t want the discoloration/shiny stuff, simply put the smooth/non textured side of the kydex on the bottom when heating. Also helps if you don’t go much higher than 315-320 degrees. I use a cookie sheet covered in aluminum foil & my oven. I set the oven at 300 & check the temp of the kydex with an IR thermometer.
Hi! I am French I do not understand all the American. I started the kydex cases 2 days ago. on some cases I have retention problems, and I have the impression that the kydex ''is not well pressed, badly molded''. is it due to the 2mm thickness? and I have the impression that the kydex sheath scratches the blades a little, what is this due to? Thank you for your answer
Consider guiding your kydex with a small piece of wood instead of your fingers when you will be working very, very close to the blade like that. If the saw bites or if there is any mistake, the injury could be painful and expensive. It is very easy to avoid, using tools. Stay safe. Great video.

I like the case, but think the belt loop will be the downfall. Why? As tight as the knife is in the case, it will forever be a pain to retrieve the knife because the loop will allow it to lift 3-4" every time you pull it out. Show us a video with it on your belt, and pulling the knife out one handed. Will be almost impossible. If the same loop were fastened at both top and bottom, to the kydex, it would stay in place for a much easier one hand draw. Pretty nice case otherwise.
This is a great video showing how YOU made a kydex sheet, but besides giving a visual demonstration of the steps you didn’t actually talk about materials needed, steps required, or anything about actually making a sheath. Yours is great but this is not an instructional video. Change the title bro. 😂 Edit: You also include no information in the description. This video is one of the least useful “how to” videos I’ve come across in awhile.
Fantastic job. I really liked the little wrap around the black piece does and the red rivets with the green. I'm usually an all black for everything, but the contrast on this looks really nice.
Thanks for watching !
the electric griddle is the best thing ive seen yet. excellent video.

Well done. Beautifull sheath. Learn a lot. Hugs from Brazil 😊

Nice job! Maybe on another build consider molding a horizontally opposed spot for a small magnesium fire starter stick.
Great idea, Matt!

Looks awesome very instructive i was looking at trying kadex fit myself. Lovely shape on knife too
Oustanding job , thanks for the video !

Wish I had a workshop like this
Very beautiful! 😊
hola te quedo espectacular. De que material es?
Nice job. But the kydex dent fits to screw hole will harm the handle with time.
Looks like a Dingo knife I had. Nice job.
Nice designed sheath 👍
Beautiful work
Nice job,now add a sharpener and a ferro rod and we'll be all set!
Thanks for the video.
Nice video but did we have to hear the saw at full volume? lol Idk if even the ASMR guys are into that part haha
Very nice work. Could you upload or explain what padding you used in the press?

Excelente trabajo !! 👏 👏👏👏
I like to block of wood in the mold. Good idea
Thank you. May I know where to buy the plastic used in making the sheath?
What screw do you use to secure the webbing fabric to the kydex at the end?
Zajebisty kydex! 💪🏻💪🏻👍🏻
I was on board till the pencil came out. What did you sharpen it with a demented beaver with dentures?

What thickness kydex is that? The definition in the sheath is incredible!
2,4mm. Thanks 😀
Top notch stuff 👍
Nice job!
Nice, but you should shorten it by half and inch and round it more down there.
Gute arbeit! 🤷🏼♂️
Really nice...
What kind of knife is that I really like it
I like it
Nicely done.
Perfect!!!
Thanks !
Kereeeeeen
Very nice work sir. Do you make kydex holsters for pistols ?
Thanks. I've never made kydex for pistol

How much something like this goes for?($$$)
dope bro now one with a clip
Think you used enough masking tape ✝️🇺🇸🤔
Nice looking stuff man! I need to step it up a bit now lol
What is the material you use??
Kydex
Is there a way to build it to attach to molle?
You would just buy the MOLLE style clips for it instead of belt clips
What thickness kydex did you use?
Hi, 2,4 mm

from my experience with a table saw it's not painful at all. At first
What did you use to heat the kydex?
Indoor electic grill plate
what knot did you use on the handle lanyard?
Simple snake knot

Heated the wrong side and got it way to hot. If the kydex gets shiny, your temp is to high
Yes I know. You're right
what thickness kydex do you use?
It is 2,4mm, 3/32in
great video! no bs and right to the job! subbed.
Mantaaaap
Where did you purchase the kydex?
Tandy leather has it
what knife is that?!!!!!!
This is my knife. Check my first video.
Kydex? Is only a plastic???
The PC terminology is "polymer." But yes, kydex is a tough plastic that is easily molded under high temperatures.
Kydex is a brand name of this type of plastic. the generic name is called, thermoplastic.

That's probably why he added the thumb assist on the sheath
Nyimak
What knife is that
This is my project. Check my first video.
Real
please give us pattern of this knife
I'm working on it

You can literally see what to do. Why would you need an explanation on what he is doing 😂
@@Dash199t I feel like I explained pretty clearly what I thought was missing from this video. 😂
How Not to make a Kydex knife sheath. )))
perfect tutorial
Thanks 🤜
The work is exelent but without anny comments for a newbie, what you are doing , what expl. Bolts you use etc. Some words would be helpful
Nice work on the sheath, that’s a good lookin knife too.
Thanks for watching !
Nice job on this piece 👍
Great job. 👍👍
Awesome
Excellent!!!!
Great video! Thanks for sharing!
