Really enjoyed Baby Driver and the attention to detail, especially with the music. Ansel did a fantastic job as Baby, but yeah, there is only one Jamie Foxx :)

Fun fact: the WRX STI comes Stock with all wheel drive, but to pull off all the sliding and stunts they actually converted the car to rear wheel drive. There’s no way to can slide a 250hp awd car

thats not true, there is an interview on youtube with one of the stunt drivers and first shot when baby backs up and drifts around the corner they did that with all wheel drive STI but other wrx cars were converted. interview is called "Baby Driver" 2007 Subaru Impreza WRX Limited FEATURETTE" 5:48
How do they achieve it in Rally? You'll be surprised, of course it's not drifting, but most of what we see in the film is plausible in a AWD WRX.

For the record, the car he kept was a 2007 STI Limited. Its basically a full STI made to look like a WRX. The STI is better in every way than a WRX, more power, stronger drivetrain, bigger brakes, etc.
Now it makes sense as to why Kevin calls him “baby”

I’m not a car person, but opening scene my first question was “Is that an STI??” I know of their reputations because my dad used to race them.
There was more than one car used. You can see STI logo on the dashboard when he accelerates before the RV overtake. There is some inconsistency as well, in the beginning the gas pedal has a racing cover but when he switches lanes under the bridge it changes to stock and stays that way. So the answer is yes and no :)

The law didn't change. There was no trial, so the law didn't enter into the equation. What happened was that he was exposed and socially shunned.

@@aligamiles - There was no trial, so he wasn't found anything. I'm saying that "innocent until proven guilty" is in court, not on social media. If someone is credibly accused of wrongdoing and there's no reasonable explanation, it's natural for him to face repercussions without trial. It's been awhile, but in Ansel's case, I believe there were text messages that proved at least one of his accuser's claim.

Actually, instead of getting cars from the set like Ansel and the Subaru, some of the cars from Fast and Furious actually belonged to the actors (such as the silver Skyline from the start of 2 Fast 2 Furious, which actually belonged to Paul Walker).

As a car nerd and current WRX owner (but its for sale, hit me up;) ) it irked me when he said it was an STI. It was a base WRX with an STI trans swapped that was converted to RWD. They might have done a bigger turbo as well, but I can't remember the exact specs of the car... god I'm a nerd.
There were different versions of the WRX tho I'm guessing he got the stock WRX STI without the camera rig

5 cars were used. One of them was an STI. The STI was used in the reverse 180 drift scene. Source is from the mechanic on the set.
