I made this farm today, and it was easy! In about 30 minutes I had 2 stacks of gunpowder. My rates are never as high as some videos, but for a long-term single player survival world, this farm is perfect.
The tutorial is really good and the video quality is amazing but i didn't notice that this farm is for java and not bedrock and it completely doesn't work on my world do you have any tipps on that ?
With Bedrock, I believe that mob spawns will only occur 24-44 blocks away from the player, much shorter than in Java. While I have not been able to test it, making the AFK box much much lower, such as 30-35 blocks above the farm may work. Sorry about the inconvenience!
I have a tip for you next time to make it easier. Add the farm type if it’s for bedrock or not also add like directions likea a player doesn’t have to count blocks
Building over an ocean usually always increases mob spawns, but, with this farm, I feel like the increased rates would be kind of negligible. Also, you can add another layer or 2 of the farm on top! However, I would probably not do anymore that that again due to diminished returns.
@@clonewarskid112 Yes! But due to where your AFK chamber needs to be, I wouldn’t do more than 2-3 layers due to diminishing returns. Just make sure the trapdoors in the middle roof are removed when you stack the layers.
@@raspberryr6 Are you on Java edition? If so, did you make the afk chamber about 120 blocks above the farm? You might want to move the afk chamber closer to the actual farm or lower it
Could it be practical to build this in the ocean to avoid having to have a high up afk chamber? Thanks Editing immediately after asking, me and my friends live on a mushroom island, theres no spawns, do i still need a high up afk chamber?
@@FFOOFFuchsia The main issue with mushroom islands is that hostile mobs actually don’t naturally spawn there. While you can build it in the ocean, make sure you’re an ok distance away from the island biome. Also, the afk chamber is unfortunately still necessary because creeper spawns are tied to a specific distance from the player. While this distance could be horizontal, the spawns are hard to get consistent. I’d still recommend building the vertical afk chamber. Sorry that this isn’t the feedback you might have been hoping for. Hope this helps in your building though! Mushroom islands are a fun place to live nonetheless!
@@Seraphum that makes sense, thank you!! i built a golem farm that spawns them on its own instead of concentrating spawns, so i kinda forgot that most farms still rely on the NATURAL spawns, which are obviously diabled lol I dont like the vertical chamber but i have riptide trident so ill be ok, thank you!!
Has anyone figured out if it works on bedrock cuz I just built it and it isn’t getting nearly the spawns it should be . Great video probably should’ve searched specifically for a bedrock edition tho
Unfortunately, I have not tested this farm for bedrock and am unfamiliar with bedrock spawn mechanics. I would recommend checking out bedrock specific farms for creepers or ghasts! Really sorry for the inconvenience!
Hmm, I'm not sure, but it might be some world lag going on there. I'd try reloading the world and sitting them down again. Let me know if you need anything else!
This afk chamber is way too far for bedrock, mobs will only spawn if you are either 23 blocks away or within 44 blocks. You’re way outside that bubble.
@@worminatux6298 You are absolutely right. I’m not familiar with bedrock mechanics as I built the farm for Java, but thank you for pointing out the range for bedrock!
For someone with 12 subscribers this video is very well made. I will indeed be building this. Thank you sir

thats a good video, nice and simple farmdesign too.
Is being way up there really necessary?
I’m interested in building this , does it work in bedrock?
No
Yo, instead of adding slabs to the top, do you add full blocks for more layers?
Have you tryed that?
Very good video, although maybe I'd speed up or skip the sections where you're just placing a bunch of blocks.
@@Pipe0481 Yeah, I think they were a bit drawn out too. Thanks for the feedback!
Good tut was looking for small creeper farm
Please answer what should my simulation and render distance be I’m pretty sure it matters
Do you need the afk chamber or can you just be around the farm for it to work
You almost certainly need the afk chamber. Most mob farms just can’t get by without abusing spawning mechanics. Sorry for the inconvenience!
@@Seraphum Ok 👍🏼 thanks for letting me know

I really liked the design!
But the creepers are not spawning hope you now the problem, thanks.
does the fire have to be the blue one or
No
would building this over the ocean make rates better?
edit: Is this farm also upgradable?

Is this farm bedrock?
does it work on bedrock?
Unfortunately, no
i made the farm on a realm and it is not working any suggestions for how to trouble shoot it its bedrock

can i stack this farm?

is this bedrock or java?
and could i build it on bedrock
For sum reasons when I cider it up there is still light and it won’t spawn creepers
same
instead of putting slabs on top of the trap doors put blocks then put slabs on top of the blocks
this farm isn’t working for me any suggestions on how to fix this ?
