    Thank you for showing the mac install, it's always a pain and confusing, I always refer people to your video 👏

    Thank you! I removed my previous sws extension dll file, did a fresh install of Reapack, and got it working just fine. I especially apprecate the S&M.ini hack to bring SWS menu items out of the submenu. :)

    For those who already had SWS installed via the manual way, do you recommend deleting the SWS file in UserPlugins and proceed to install SWS via Reapack?

    • @TheREAPERBlog
      @TheREAPERBlog  11 месяцев назад +3

      i tested both ways and it worked either way. reaper will need a restart after install or update of sws.

    Thank you ... this was helpful when I updated SWS, as my extensions disappeared.

    Guys! Help. I'm running Mac OS Sonoma. I've updated to Reaper 7.19 I've downloaded ReaPack and placed the .dylib file into my UserPlugins file. When I open Reaper, I don't get any prompts and the "Extensions" tab is not there.

    • @TheREAPERBlog
      @TheREAPERBlog  6 месяцев назад

      did you right-click on reaper and Open? that should trigger the security prompt.

    • @adamskaggs4494

      @@TheREAPERBlog I did, but unfortunately it's still a no-go. I even looked in the privacy settings to see if the prompt was there. Nothing.

      the other thing would be wrong version of reapack. Intel vs Arm (Apple M series) processor. OR reaper app is set to open with rosetta. I've run into that before

    @5:34 is when my Reaper V7.11 (MacOS 11.7.6 MacMini M1), crashed. I've no idea if it updated. I hope it did.

    • @TheREAPERBlog

      possibly your reapack required an update before it could install sws.

    Huh, REAPER (v7.11) crashed on me while updating. I already had ReaPack and SWS so I just went into ReaPack, synchronized, and installed the latest SWS. It crashed around 50% on the progress bar. Thankfully, after starting REAPER again, it continued and succeeded.

      FWIW that might be the first time REAPER has crashed on me since I started using it around 2011.

    Thanks Jon! Windows user here. I followed along and now I'm up to date. Is ReaPack always a manual update? How often do you run that? I run it occasionally but not on a schedule like the config backup. Should I do it regularly/often? I hope you're feeling better...

      Its all automatic once installed, just synchronize occasionally to get everything new

    Hi :) Thank you so much for your time in posting these helpful videos. It is appreciated very much. I have, I guess a dumb question, as I am sure practically everyone already knows the answer to it, but with me being pretty new to reaper, I am unsure as to how I reload my saved FX chains into reaper after a new install. Can I drop the file into "Userplugins".? Thank you so much for your help :)

    • @TheREAPERBlog
      @TheREAPERBlog  7 месяцев назад

      they go in the fx chains folder.
      Go to Options - show reaper resource folder
      and you'll find it

    I have an M1 ultra Apple studio. I downloaded Reaper Universal. I followed your instructions a dozen times. it will NOT install. I downloaded arm 64 for my os Sonoma. I placed it in the user folder. When I reboot reaper I do NOT get the apple warning nor is there any message in my Apple system/privacy folder. There is no "anyway"to click. Do you have any idea why my extensions won't I stall?

    • @TheREAPERBlog
      @TheREAPERBlog  3 месяца назад

      you have to RIGHT-CLICK on reaper and choose Open.

    • @bobbydolan
      @bobbydolan 3 месяца назад

      I did that the last 11 attempts with no results whatever. Do you think I should move my Reaper dir in Library to a storage drive, download a new Reaper universal, and try the process again?

    I’ve ran Into an issue and I don’t know how to fix it. I’m trying to record real time changes I make in a plugin for an amp sim demo. How do I go about doing this in reaper? I’m looking to start my recording and have real time changes stay in my track. Please help

    • @TheREAPERBlog
      @TheREAPERBlog  11 месяцев назад +1

      set the track automation mode to one of the writing modes (write/touch/latch), play the project and as you move parameters you should see envelopes written on the track. set to Read after. The button probably says Trim by default in your reaper.

      Hey I actually figured it out! It’s definitely a bit sloppy how reaper has this set up personally. I’m honestly surprised they don’t just have this as a 1 button set up. Either way thank you so much you’ve truly helped me and been the only person to do so!

      ReaPack must be updated first (Extensions > ReaPack > Synchronize packages) to fix that issue when installing SWS.

      @@TheREAPERBlog You can get that behavior on Windows by editing the registry, or simply run this Powershell command (right-click and run powershell as admin first): Set-ItemProperty -Path "HKLM:\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System" -Name "ConsentPromptBehaviorAdmin" -Value 1
