It’s crazy to think that Drake and Josh were 21-22 years old when this movie came out. That really gave the appearance of them being older brothers to the kids.
At first I thought it was weird that the Premiere was suddenly in a mall since it always appeared as a standalone building, but now that you mention the continuity of it having burned down in the series finale it makes perfect sense.
@AggressivelyAverage actually now that I think about it, in the episode “Theater Thug” it’s revealed that the original theater was part of an outdoor shopping center called the Premiere Galleria. So it makes even more sense that they would build a bigger mall in its place

Fun Fact: This almost ended up being a very different film. This special originally began development as a film called "Drake & Josh In Manhattan", The film, which was meant to be released in theaters as a final send-off to the TV series, would've involved the two traveling to New York City for one of Drake's concerts, only to be mistaken for two lookalike wanted criminals and falsely arrested. After being released, the two are forced to help an orphanage as part of their parole, only to face off against the lookalike criminals who are trying to rob the same orphanage. It's believed the project never took off due to a lack of theatrical interest and a high budget, causing the film to be scrapped in favor of "Merry Christmas, Drake & Josh". The unused script for "Drake & Josh In Manhattan" was loosely rewritten and reused for the Christmas special.
5:40 I just noticed with Josh's hair throughout this movie he was clearly filming Red Dawn at this point because that's pretty much the same style of haircut he had in that movie
I love that movie. 🍿 it’s one of my favorite movies to watch during the holidays. 🎄 my favorite line is when Blush tells Josh that he’s gonna beat him up & Josh says “but I bruised like a summer Beach”😂

It turns out it was she was just crazy and if you don’t know where I heard that from heard it off of RUclips video or like some article or some new station somewhere like two or maybe three years ago after that point when it happened but yeah let’s also add this to the fact that he would never do nothing bad maybe he would’ve done it only because he went to something awful his life and maybe that’s why he did it but come on you gotta get some sympathy for the guy like Dan Schneider, and Brian those were the guys that ruined him and ruin his life and pretty much gave him something messed up during his final days in acting all I say is that Drake deserve a lot more better and I just hope that he is doing OK and hopefully he finally found some help and he’s now clear off of his demons
I felt so bad for Josh in this movie He didn’t do anything and was knocked off the roof of the mall then catapulted out of the truck he landed in and yet they still put him in jail even though he didn’t do anything
GREAT review! Some of your comments were as funny as the movie 😂 And I agree, Merry Christmas, Drake & Josh is destined to be a classic. All its themes and events are universal and timeless. Again, awesome job covering the movie. You made me lol more than once 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I remember this airing quite a bit and I rewatched it last year it was damn good I love this show. them playing in the cheese snow and them in the mall for some reason always stuck with me
This movie is the perfect finale to the series. I love this film so much, the themes the characters. My favorite moment when Drake said he wanted to keep this promise and Josh called him out for basically only caring about himself and being selfish throughout the series really shows how much Drake has developed as a character.
I will admit, this movie has a lot of things that aren't given an explanation but I have to say, it is one of the most overhated movies to ever exist. It's very sweet and funny at times and honestly, I think all the nonsensical things in the movie are just for plot convenience. It is actually one of the few Christmas movies I liked to watch over and over. Even when it's not Christmas. The whole jail plot was interesting too. Also, buddy, you missed a detail. Josh not only was arrested for no apparent reason, but he was also not read his Miranda rights either.
It’s required to read Miranda rights prior to interrogation. Not arrest. We never see Josh interrogated onscreen so they never had to read him Miranda rights. Why are you trying to “correct” somebody on a topic you don’t even know anything about 😂
Drake and Josh knew the secret of comedy! It was a true amazing golden age Nickelodeon series. The Christmas movie is definitely a standout event. It ultimately does have a good message and that’s part of why I love it but boy does the plot seem like a fever dream! I also can’t help but laugh every time I see that ridiculous scene where they use a “deck chair” for a Christmas tree! That is so ridiculous pathetic but also so true to Drake and Josh!
YES I NEEDED TO KNOW YOUR THOUGHTS ON THIS AFTER THE OTHER SPECIALS W CHANNEL KEEP IT UP , UNIQUE PERSECTIVE AND GREAT TIMING, GREAT MOVES KEEP IT UP, PROUD OF YOU.
As funny as this movie might be, the fact that the plot makes almost no sense really drags it down. It's pretty hard to enjoy when the main plot (Drake and Josh have to give a little girl and her foster family the best Christmas ever, or else they go to jail for many years) only happens because the cops stupidly arrest Josh for no reason and don't even tell him why. Also, it seems hard to believe that the judge and Gilbert would be willing to at least let Drake go for trying to break Josh out of prison just because he kept a "Christmas promise (which I've never heard before). For the matter, why exactly would the whole family say this Christmas was the best Christmas ever when Drake and Josh screwed everything up? I'm sure their father would've given them passable Christmases before, "the thought that counts" doesn't matter with all the property damage the woodchipper caused. Most of this plot makes no sense, to say the least.

It is a fun little project to revisit.
14:12-15:02 Officer Gilbert spotted a group of random men playing basketball in the streets. He walked over to them, and he paid them to do something to Drake and Josh. When Drake and Josh were on their way home, those random men jumped out of the bushes and grabbed them, took their clothes off their bodies, and left them naked on the streets. Officer Gilbert gave them tickets for public nudity even though he paid those random men to do that to them. He also had Drake's car towed away because it's blue. Josh grabbed a tree branch, and he stood behind Drake, holding the tree branch in front of him, and they walked home naked together. When Drake and Josh made it home and rang the doorbell, Megan opened the door, and she was unsurprised to see them naked, telling them to either put on some clothes or join a gym.
I remember seeing all the commercials for it on tv before it came out and I was excited back then. I remember being out from the house and watching the time so I wouldn’t miss it and I watched it when it premiered.
The most crazy thing about The Probation officer is that David Pressman (the guy who plays the Probation officer) actually had a pet Monkey, which makes the scene way more interesting.

I remember watching this every year that they aired it… totally forgot about it for years.
Wow what a throwback this a classic idc what u say in the video

That's one of the coolest sweaters I've ever seen.
Absolutely a timeless holiday classic.
I remember seeing all the commercials for it on tv before it came out and I was excited back then. I remember being out from the house and watching the time so I wouldn’t miss it and I watched it when it premiered.
How was it?
Your commentary is hilarious my guy
KIMBO SLICE AND FONZY
The most crazy thing about The Probation officer is that David Pressman (the guy who plays the Probation officer) actually had a pet Monkey, which makes the scene way more interesting.
15:21 I'm crying bro LMFAOOOO
It totally cracks me up and has me dying!😂🤣
it's weird how I was just randomly thinking of this movie every morning for 3 days straight only to have this pop up
The algorithm can read our minds I’m convinced
