Drake and Josh’s finale is great it ties up all of the loose ends. Drake finally becomes a successful singer and josh finally becomes assistant manager of the premiere something he wanted since season 2 and gets back together with Mindy. I love it it’s so funny one of the best finale I’ve ever seen.
This was a well thought out conclusion to the main show. A great ending that involves Josh finally getting what he wanted since he first got the job at the premiere (the assistant manager position), him and Mindy getting back together, Drake FINALLY getting the record deal and number one hit song he deserves, Helen getting married so she can finally have something to be happy about (though she would later divorce Buzz after 5 weeks), and a scene with Drake and Josh fighting over a shrimp which is echoed by the similar Amanda Show scene, thus ending the show off how it began (same with the Pilot-style opening). Amazing! The proper way to conclude the show! On a high note! Also, just so you know guys, this IS the chronological series finale. Helicopter and Dance Contest aired after this, but they both take place before it so this is the technical TV show finale. And what a one it was!

So excited to see this. This is probably my favorite Drake and Josh episodes and I can recite a lot of it by heart 😅. I wish there'd been more episodes, but I think this is a fun episode that wraps up everyone's storyline pretty well
Another fantastic Drake and Josh retrospective. Great job on this except for the fact that this was not actually the series finale. That honor goes to Merry Christmas Drake and Josh! However I always liked this story and I guess it does sort of count as the “official television finale”. Also it is so weird that the Christmas special literally starts with Helen learning about how she was being scammed by her new husband for money! I always found that ridiculous! Still this was a really great special and it did indeed serve as a good follow up to the Hollywood movie and also a good wrap-up for most of the TV plots. It’s certainly worth remembering even though the Christmas special undoes a few of the events from this story.
The Christmas movie came after the finale of the series. But it’s in its own weird space. This is the definitive end of the “series”. Going to do that one soon as well 🔥
Two things: 1. When exactly did Josh and Mindy broke up? I can’t remember? 2. This is pretty much the series finale but yet they showed one more episode a month later which was when Drake and Josh competed in the dance contest
They broke up in season 4, Mindy Loves Josh. I can’t remember if it was because Josh couldn’t say “I love you” after Mindy says it, Josh accused Mindy of using him to win the Science Fair, or Mindy let Josh win the Science Fair, and Josh felt guilty thinking they were holding each other back.
This was almost certainly meant to be the series finale, but two episodes aired after it. Helicopter and Dance Contest aired later. Heck, Dance Contest aired as part of a 5-show event. 5 Sitcoms all aired an episode focused on dancing. It was Just Jordan, Zoey 101, Unfabulous, iCarly, and Drake and Josh. The craziest thing about this event is that the iCarly episode was the 3rd episode of the series and the first to air on its own. iCarly outlasted the other 4 shows by years and it feels weird in retrospect to remember that it was part of the event.

I just remember is being a special. I don’t know if you’re familiar with Mandela Effects, but this screams one to me. Is it possible they didn’t market it as the series finale, and planned on having another season before it got canceled? Also, I realize the Christmas Special is the last thing to be released, but that doesn’t count as a regular episode.
Its full circle Lmaoo fitting this is the last episode considering the idea for the show started over a shrimp sketch when drake and josh first met irl
I haven't rewatched Drake and Josh since it was on tv. I knew this plot was the finale, but I thought it was part of the movie. Interesting decision to make a special a year separate from the rest of the show
I think you guys have in the US have a fuller version of this special with more scenes. Also for Drake and Josh go to Hollywood. I am from Latin America and both movies were always showcased on their 3 or 2 episodes versions.
I'm gonna go out on a limb and say... _No._ And the thumbnail perfectly sums up the problem I have with the entire premise. The fact that the entire conflict of the special happens because Josh is tricked into signing a contract all because he was distracted by the _really big shrimp,_ was always a stupid concept to me. Plus, I remember back when I was a kid, this "thing" wasn't marketed as "the finale;" it was just marketed as yet another special. So imagine how shocked I was at the end with Josh getting the Assistant Manager's Gold Vest at the end...like the series was giving _closure_ or something.
@@aphoticphoton I think it's because - from conception - Kids shows are supposed to go-on _indefinitely;_ they're largely episodic, slice-of-life stories that anybody can come into the series at any moment and pick-up from. Serializing shows is trickier, because if the show is telling an on-going story, you won't understand if you don't start at the beginning. Kim Possible was sort of a _hybrid_ of sorts. The series started out Episodic for the first three seasons. But then _the movie_ happened. And unlike A Sitch in Time, they decided that this movie would remain _in-canon._ The movie establishes that Kim and Ron have feelings for each other and they start a relationship. So Season 4 picks up where the movie leaves off, with Ron and Kim dating while navigating their Senior Year of High School. (Also giving Kim a Wardrobe Upgrade.) The entire season was built-up as the final season of the show, leading to Kim and Ron's graduation as the grand finale. I guess what I'm saying is, it's _possible_ for Kids shows to come to an end, but it takes a lot of planning and leg-work. More often than not, TV shows will be produced until enough episodes air that the show can hit "syndication" - basically, after 100 episodes or so, the show can stand to make a lot more money through syndication. And usually when shows hit that mark, the studios decide that they're done with it. If the show creators want to wrap-up a kids show with a proper finale, they need to lay the ground-work probably a year in advance. With Kim Possible it made sense - four seasons, four years of high school, senior year being the final season; it all fit. Or sometimes, when a show is cancelled before a finale happens, there's a chance the creators could option a _movie-deal,_ based on the show, and more often than not, the movie will act as the finale of the series, wrapping everything up. That's what happened with Disney's Teacher's Pet, and I think with the Lilo and Stitch TV series - the movies ultimately conclude the narrative that was begun with the shows.
Dude, enchilada is pronounced “EN-chilada”, not “ON-chilada”. The E the beginning of enchilada is pronounced as “EH”, not “AH”. Nobody has ever even pronounced it that way before, either (besides just you). So why would you think that it’s actually pronounced that way (if you don’t mind me asking)? 😃 Great video, BTW. Keep up the great work, man! P.S. I am NOT trolling you or anything here; I am just curious about that is all).

it was the Amanda show not all that but regardless, i remember seeing that scene on the Amanda show as a little kid lol i remember when i realized it was drake and josh from the Amanda show i thought it was smart since they were in the same sketch alot, i loved the Amanda show😂 and this ending going back to that scene was genuinely great and throw back even for people who were still kids at the time i think i was probably around 9 or when this happened so i was around 4 or 5 when i saw those episodes of Amanda show since they were still playing them all the time
I know I’m not the only one but wow it’s crazy that this was the series finale, i remember watching this when it aired because they made a big deal out of it on Nickelodeon
I believe Helicopter and Dance Contest were the last episodes but Really Big Shrimp was the last one they filmed
I remember thinking Josh was hamming it up wayyy too much towards the end of the show and boy oh boy did this video confirm it
This stuff is mad nostalgic but it’s also inappropriate enough to be funny enough to enjoy as an adult. Top tier content!
“Inch-eh-lah-da” was just fine tbh, closest pronunciation to its Latin root lol
What I didn’t get was the helicopter episode premiered after this so-called “finale”
Aired out of chronological order
I like the detail of The Premier being in a mall in the christmas movie, having rebuilt in a new location
That makes it even more funny that you can’t see the building burning in the background of the wedding scene 😂
Drake and Josh > iCarly
I remember finding iCarly really mid when I was a kid but I appreciate a lot of its humour as an adult (the first 3 seasons at least)
Valid take for sure
No need to pit two bad btches against each other
No and I was there for the debut of both shows
Will you be talking about Zoey 101's specials?? I love how you're talking about tv show specials from my childhood!
For sure. I’m about to cover the Zoey 101 special where they go on a reality show at Logan’s Parents house
That enchiladas scene lives in my head and I think about a little too much idk why 😭
The flashback of them fighting as kids was from 'The Amanda Show'. Not 'All That'.
I think the flashback clip of them at the end is from The Amanda Show not All That
That's correct
It’s the finale but Drake and Josh Christmas special was a proper finale
Not really it was just a Christmas special
16:48 Small correction here, they were on The Amanda Show, not All That
I remember Nickelodeon airing this and Go Hollywood as a double bill, and my 7 year self found it confusing that this had a laugh track and Go Hollywood didn't.
Didn't they release like 2 episodes of Drake And Josh after this?
I rarely comment on videos, but first of all you did a great job with this.
Second, like you mention in the description, I do not remember this being the series finale at all.
This was not 17 years ago
Its full circle Lmaoo fitting this is the last episode considering the idea for the show started over a shrimp sketch when drake and josh first met irl
Bro, I LOVE your profile picture!!!
This wasn’t the finale it was the helicopter episode
No it was the dance contest episode.
@@mart5610 no it wasn’t
As a kid, I wondered how Drake managed to play the studio version of the song while on the car at the end.
Lmfaoo fair enough I never thought of that 😂
I haven't rewatched Drake and Josh since it was on tv. I knew this plot was the finale, but I thought it was part of the movie. Interesting decision to make a special a year separate from the rest of the show
I didnt remember the christmas one but as im watching your video I totally remember this episode
Possibly signing your brothers life away for some shrimp is wild😭
Josh is an easy target it seems 😂
I think you guys have in the US have a fuller version of this special with more scenes. Also for Drake and Josh go to Hollywood. I am from Latin America and both movies were always showcased on their 3 or 2 episodes versions.
That’s interesting. I’m curious how many things were changed / cut for your version of the special. Very cool!!
The official last episode is Dance Contest not this special
So maybe that’s why i don’t remember it being a finale when I was younger. Because I never remember seeing any ads marketing it as a finale 🤔
I mean the show went on for a couple of episodes for some reason
Off topic but why aren’t kids shows usually given a series finale or season finale title? I remember Kim possible having the finale part I think
Good movie felt like a longer form of Drake and josh. Me and my sister loved when the reruns wouldnshow up
Dude, enchilada is pronounced “EN-chilada”, not “ON-chilada”. The E the beginning of enchilada is pronounced as “EH”, not “AH”. Nobody has ever even pronounced it that way before, either (besides just you). So why would you think that it’s actually pronounced that way (if you don’t mind me asking)? 😃
Great video, BTW. Keep up the great work, man!
P.S. I am NOT trolling you or anything here; I am just curious about that is all).
was the flashback clip from All That? thought it was The Amanda Show
It was the amanda show
Bruh, 17 years ago sheesh
Times gotta slow down a bit
They have no evidence of Josh making the switch though. The have no evidence of him being the one to switch them and if anyone says that he was there at the studio, that's just circumstantial. Josh had lil reason to flip out. lol
Dude I didn’t even think of that. I guess they probably have security cameras in the studio lol 😂
@@AggressivelyAverage Ohh dang.. didn't think of that now that you mention it. That is a pretty good point. 😶
