If you're carrying a rife around all day and only have the opportunity to make a few shots the lightness of the rifle totally makes sense. Ounces feel like pounds after a few hours of trudging.
Built in my home state of Utah where we cover many miles and thousands of vertical feet chasing big game only to be left with a shot at distance that only a very accurate rifle and shooter can ethically make. Very nice rifle!!
Used to be a Canadian(Quebec) company, now moved to the USA I believe! My dad has one in 338 Lapua mag…. He’s looking in changing it for something more adequate for moose lol possibly a 7mm rem mag. Nice rifle for sure, that said not my type… and they had there issues for sure! But who doesn’t have issues lol!
Expensive... but so are the lightweight offerings from the like of Sako, Tikka etc. I think there'd be a market for these in NZ.... Most of this country is standing up on end, and it's hard going no matter how young and fit you might be. At $10,000NZ they are not much more than other top of the line rifles. Very nice to have a rifle that is 'just right' straight out of the box...that's worth quite a few dollars..... I just re-barrelled a .308, and I did re-profile the barrel too as it was very heavy. It's still no pencil and the rifle with scope is around 9lbs. Must get it to the range and sight it in... 🙂
I have one of their guns I had custom made back in 2008 Titanium Remington action, carbon wrapped barrel & carbon stock in 325wsm Great to carry in the hills but not something you want to shoot all day 😂😂 Don’t count on the .5 moa, when I questioned them on mine the silence was deafening , the shot card I came with was less than 1 moa The delivery time was also ice age like But 1 moa for a 325wsm was ok I guess I wouldn’t deal with them again, there are better options I feel
Re: Bolt Action Rifles: Is there really a "need" for something other than a Mauser 98 derivative action. With all the modern developments out there there is still the Rigby, the Mauser, Winchester and Kimber just to name a few. After 125 years I am convinced most of the "bugs" have been thoroughly worked out. As for the "tech" will these barrels hold up and will replacements really be available in 20 years, hard to say I suppose. as for 1/2 MOA well, I am left to wonder whether, in a hunting situation , that extra 1/2" is going to put that much more venison on the table. But, on the whole, it seems like a fine rifle, suitable for purpose and a brilliant study that incorporates almost all of the cutting edge manufacturing technology currently on offer
That lab is well trained. It's odd to see. In Canada we use beagles to push the deer and the blockers take any deer that appear. We never see labs except in duck season or for upland birds. My beagle would ruin a hunt in his excitement to play with the strange antlered animals.
Ultra Light Arms, out of West Virginia, is lighter I think. You can get it chambered in 300 win mag... No it is not lighter haha and I see why, why god's name would anyone buy a gun that you have to replace the barrel often.
yes we can. Yes, southern gun company makes lever action AR-15s in the UK. If you ask me, they are a huge rip off. Pointless over priced gimmick. The UK can have semi auto shotguns and semi auto rimfire .22s
Ultra light Arms in the USA are the best for weight, durability, and accuracy. Basically it's the gun American PHs use when they go hunting mountain goats in Alaska or elk and big horns in the Rocky Mountains. Plus there's usually an option for a stainless steel barrel, and you don't have to replace that.
My right shoulder is mush following a bad car accident in February - if recoil looks bad I can assure you it’s not; I wouldn’t be able to shoot with it if it was 😢😂
@@adamhauskins6407 Its not odd at all, it dates from the introduction of the Deer Act in 1963. Prior to that there was little in the way of protection for deer in terms of the methods used to kill them. The act introduced close seasons and limited calibres of rifles allowable depending on species. Shotguns and other methods were outlawed on the basis of animal welfare, which up until that time had been an issue in some respects. The deer act was pretty successful in raising the standard of deer management in the UK and standards of animal welfare. Technology has moved on significantly since 1963 and while bow hunting with modern equipment could be possibly considered be considered as humane as any other form of management if done correctly I doubt there would be much public support for reintroducing it.

@TGS Outdoors On TELEGRAM Nah you didn't....robot! 🙄
It's nice it has a firing pin block. I like these kind of features.

What will you hunt in UK with a 30 caliber bolt gun?
6 species of deer, wild boar, foxes
@@tgsoutdoors you have 🐗 and 🦌 still congrats. But that overkill for 🦊. What about bunny 🐰?
