We know Batman is in pain there, but saying such cruel words to someone who looks at him as a surrogate father MUST hurt. It's a bit too much actually since Damien even realizes he's made a deadly mistake, but those words could damage his psyche to new lows. Make him feel like he doesn't belong or can't ever be good, or redeemed

The thing that people don't take into consideration is that Damian doesn't know any better due to his upbringing. I too have had a lousy upbringing which has made me the guy I am today so I can relate. True that it doesn't justify the fact that he killed Nightwing, but it clearly wasn't that intentional. I feel that Damian is so misunderstood and unfairly judged, again I can relate. Sometimes, for a person to get better, they need better support. Perhaps putting him in the field wasn't such a great idea. So who's really to blame here? Bare in mind how much of an enabler Bruce has been during his reign as the Batman himself, but no.. we can't point fingers at the main hero now can we? 🙄

It’s weird how devastatingly realistic this is. With someone like Nightwing you’d expect them to go out in a blaze of glory, being killed by an armada or some kind of super weapon.
But seeing him die to a hunk of metal thrown really fast shows the true mortality of these heroes. Robin probably thought it would knock him out at most. But seeing him actually die from something most of us would brush off as a pretty tame thing (in terms of superhero fights at least) reminds us that these really are just humans with mortal weaknesses

It reminded me about when Batman once talked about dying or retiring as Batman and he said “maybe it’ll be Joker or just some random crook who gets lucky” it’s so true, you expect Nightwing to die risking his life for his family not accidentally getting killed by one of them.

Why this part hurt immensely in the comics is cos in the comics it showed when this happened and Damian and Batman went up to Nightwing, everyone saw what happened and just stopped fighting, everything just went silent. They all knew he was dead and let Batman carry him out peacefully. The split between the so called heroes and in-mates while Batman is carrying Nightwing out of the prison is truly intense

aside from that, this is just such a not normal occurrance on every level.
      1. on every other day the bat family work like a swiss watch and to the average villain appear to be running almost on hivemind. it's rare for them to be out of sync and almost unheard of for them to be at odds in the field. it's like watching an enemy spec-ops unit engage in intentional friendly fire and lose a commander in the process.
      2. robins don't die easily, and as far as mainline continuity goes to date, the joker is the only one to hold the honor of murdering a birdboy. as far as most of these rogues are aware the bat clan is indestructible. people like Calendar Man have never come close to what they just witnessed happened at the heroes' own hands. as far as the B and C listers go, they probly just assume everyone wearing a bat or bird on their chest is 1/4 kryptonian on their father's side or something.
      3. most of batman's rogues have grown a quiet respect for batman in their own ways. Ra's Al Ghul and riddler respect his mind. Joker respects his determination and the fact that he's almost as crazy as the joker is.
ventriloquist respects and appreciates that batman doesn't forget that he's ill and not the one driving the car so to speak, etc etc., and while few if any know why he's batman they've all dealt with him enough to know that he's a single minded motivated entity on a longterm suicide mission that lives in the mask, unlike some heroes that just needed a set of clothes. the batman IS the mask, and whoever he "really" is, is in fact the "Costume" side of him. joker knows bruce is batman in multiple continuities and just doesn't care because bruce wayne isn't interesting, isn't fun, and isn't who he is, he's batman, the rich playboy is the "mask". even without knowing the bat is bruce or nightwing is dick, etc., the villains know the bat well enough to read what just happened: FRATRICIDE.
in short, even the villains aren't so blind as to not see the well-oiled machine seizing, are watching someone they've basically just written off as borderline invincible go down for the count, realize they were literally just first-hand witnesses to "Cain and Abel" in front of their very eyes, and realize that Batman just lost TWO sons in one instant.
He's gonna need a minute. and they're gonna give him that minute. because he's the Batman. he's EARNED that minute.
and besides, if this guy dressed as a bat and fought nerve gas bomb wielding clowns for fun BEFORE... just WHAT do you THINK he's going to DO to the poor BASTARD that tries to PUNCH him NOW??
i got some brass balls on me, but i don't think even i got "Punch the Bat while his world shatters" balls. i like my spine INSIDE my torso where it belongs, thank you very much.

Would also be realistic for the crazed maniacs to kick him when he's down instead of showing respect of cowering in fear, how many of theirs would've died as 'collateral' in the heroes' unfounded so called principled crusade on crime - which they're a part of.

I always hated this because Nightwing is my favorite hero, Dick was always Bruce's foil. Bruce broods while Dick jokes. It's why everyone in the League liked him. Killing him was symbolic in more ways than one. He's the only one who would have been able to get Bruce and Clark to talk. The only one they would listen to and respect.
As for the scene, it's very powerful in both mediums for three reasons, the first is because Nightwing is known to the Criminals as the first Robin. They know he's level-headed, and they respect him even though they hate him. Second it shows that Damien is not only unable to control his temper, but also unable to restrain himself when he needs to be. Batman can't trust Damien to "do the right thing, because it's right." Lastly, it's the death of Damien's brother, Bruce's eldest son, and the relationship between Damien and Bruce. It's no secret that Dick is the heart of the Bat-family, and everyone knows it. That's why everyone just stopped. It's the first real witnessed death at the hands of a hero, and it shocked everyone.
    Thanks for letting me overanalyze.

He made the world burn by breaking someone else’s spirt besides Bruce. Not only had Joker corrupted the purest person Bruce ever knew, but because of what Joker had done to Clark his actions also ended up accidentally making Robin kill Nightwing. Joker’s actions managed to make one of Batman’s son kill his other son even after his death. Joker had finally managed get to Batman by going after someone that didn’t just affect him, but everyone. He killed over 11 Million people, Clark’s wife and child, and technically also Nightwing and put the blame on Bruce for never getting rid of him once and for all. Ultimately by breaking Clark he also broke Bruce.

I liked it cause Damian’s black and white worldview is his greatest flaw and you can see it shatter in real time here. He was raised by Ra’s to believe the League of Assassins were heroes and the people they killed were bad guys and so that justified everything they did. He met Bruce and started to adjust his definition of hero but never fully let go of “they’re the bad guys we should be able to do whatever we want to them” mentality. So when he finally does an unequivocally bad act, of course his initial reaction is to explain why he’s still a good person and so this can’t have counted.
And when Batman throws it back in his face talking about how he thought he could redeem him, it suddenly clicks for Damian why his family are so insistent that crooks and criminals and bad guys get a second chance. Because that’s what they did for him. Because he was a bad guy.

If he was sorry, he wouldn't have done it. His tendency to always aim for the person's head should have been a known danger to a child that was trained by assassins. Yes he wasn't intending to kill nightwing, but the fact that he has such a tendency to lash out in anger and even use such a dirty attack against his own comrade is disgusting and I don't blame batman for disowning him for it. Damean doesn't use rational thinking or logic, he acts purely out of emotion which tends to be anger driven. Alot of people say batman failed as a father but I am of the mindset that damean failed as a son, he broke batman number one rule and tries to cover it with an excuse that nobody should buy into.

I feel so bad for Damian in the Injustice universe, he's grown in violence, both in the league and in the batfamily, (Violence is still violence even if youre not aiming to kill). Fighting for everything, both in anger and affectionately, is just the norm for him.
He's so use to being able to throw tantrums and punches and Dick just taking them easily and *laughing* at it like its no problem. Damian isnt an evil monster, he's a spoiled kid who didnt know better, there was never a doubt in his mind Dick *wouldn't* block the blow.

@@tek512 violence is a choice yes but when your a parent with a mentally ill traumatize cultified teen and you go "fight crime" you are atleast partially responsible for all the people that get hurt as a result. He treated Damian like a soldier instead of a child and that was a problem. I can admit im limited in my knowledge of injustice Damian specifically, but in Jon Kent AOSM hes very clearly??? Looking for a parental authority figure. Ironically Dick WAS that for him(if injustice is anything like the main comics). He clearly misses Dick too and is grieving at him. Idk I read alot of Damian, hes not a monster, just traumatized. Obviously hes still responsible for his actions, but the adults around him are just as responsible as he is for not checking the behavior. For example for animated injustice, Dick experienced Damian throwing the stick at him in anger, and instead of correcting it he goes "Lol Damian has temper tantrums." As someone who deals with children, you need to correct those behaviors when you see them. And that translates to teens and young adults aswell. With teens theres only so much you can do but its like they didnt even TRY. They just saw Damian was violent and excepted it and tried to use it instead of addressing it in a real manner..

Damien didn't mean to harm his brother he was just angry but you can tell he loved him. I see brothers fight all of the time it's only more dangerous here because he's an assassin and Nightwing was a superhero.

Violence is a choice. Damien meant to harm Dick every time he corrected Damien's bad behavior in Bruce's absence. Damien was a spoiled sport and had an ego the size of Jupiter and hated losing.

    • @Beenisweenis
      @Beenisweenis Год назад +3

@@opticalraven1935 sure you can consider all those things true but the fault still lies in the parents and authority figures who continue to give him ways too be that way. If they completely cut him off from heroing, sent him off to a boarding school or something and Damian STILL came back and did the entire vigilante schticks without them I could give Bruce and Dick a pass. Because in that scenario atleast they *tried*. Cultivating those kind of behavior issues in violent settings will never work. Its why we have power hungry police and military personnel who have no value for civilian life. Bullies shouldn't be given that kind of power. And if you think the issue is Damian being ego driven and power hungry, then it still goes back on the adults in his life!!! For enabling that behavior. Personally I disagree, I dont think Damian is violent naturally, I think he's easily irritated and quick to snap. But I dont personally think he's a bad person. Either way the adults in his life are emotionally constipated and not dealing with this issue at all.
