      Yes it is! Bottom line for me is I take care of my equipment so I don't get to nervous during these things.

    Would you believe in all the years I've been driving, and yes it's a lot, since 1979, I have never been DOT checked during a blitz. Not once. Including this week.
    But, having said that, as long as you have your s**t together, a blitz shouldn't worry you. I'm always ready for a DOT check. It's called being safe. Just like you strive to be.

    I saw fewer DOT this week than I normally do. Got the bypass at the scales all week.

      I agree. Other than Ohio today which should have been after the blitz. Saw 4 on 71 between Columbus and Lodi.

      I run 75 from Dayton to Cincinnati, then 71 to Columbus, 70 to Zanesville, then back to Dayton. I saw 2, and none in the usual locations. Be safe.

    I always question why it is so dam hard to get in heavy hauling… I been flatbeding for 3 years now .. How can you get experience when no one wants to hire you ????

      I think the problem right now is there just isn't enough freight for HH So companies are hesitant to bring in new blood for fear of making the freight to thin and scaring off the older guys. Keep plugging away my friend you'll get there. Just need this market to turn so the frieght is ready for you.

      You could sign on with a company that has the oversize/heavy frieght running flat or step for them and try to position yourself into the right place at the right time.

    How do you get paid? Pounds per mile?

    • @PatriotSpecialized
      @PatriotSpecialized  24 дня назад

      I'm paid off percentage of load. I get my percentage of whatever I book the load for. My opinion it's the best way to be paid for HH. Some days it gets you but overall I think it's the best way for flatbed in general to be paid.

    By the way what are those red flags for....

    • @PatriotSpecialized
      @PatriotSpecialized  23 дня назад

      They are required to be on the load at all 4 corners or widest position of the load.

    It’s a shame a lot of truck drivers are very inconsiderate, and do not take pride in anything
