    I always come back and check on hives I have removed a few days later, if nothing else but to release the queen. These days, I like going back in and removing the rubber bands if the comb is secured by then. Unfortunately, once again, I had a small mishap and one section did break away. And for those who are really paying attention, you will notice when I placed it back in the frame, I did it incorrectly. Two mistakes on the same video. Well, mistakes are part of beekeeping, but hopefully we can learn from them and not repeat them in the future.
    It's been almost 2 months since this hive was removed from Jack and Sue's beautiful home in Mandeville and I'm happy to report they are doing great. I expect no problems with these bees getting through the winter, and I look forward to splitting them in the Spring. Thanks for watching. God's peace to all.

      You would not know about peaceful bees because of the deplorable condition you keep them housed in. Bees really do care about the house they live in, and it shows in their disposition. Maybe you should invest in some new equipment and see for yourself how enjoyable it is to work with happy bees. Nothing but love brother, God's peace always.

    Question. Why are you keeping the queen locked up after moving the bees into the box?

    • @JeffHorchoff
      @JeffHorchoff  9 месяцев назад +2

      The main reason is for the bees to acclimate to the new hive. With the queen caged, they are most likely, but not always, to remain in the new location getting the comb repaired and prepared for the queen to be released and start laying again. Thanks so much for your support and for watching Dario. God's peace brother.

    Sura 16: AN-NAHL (THE BEE) - Juz' 14 -
    Your Lord revealed to the bee: 'Build your homes in the mountains, in the trees, and in what they are building. (68) Eat every kind of fruit, and follow the easy ways of your Lord. ' From its belly comes forth a drink (honey) of many hues in which there is healing for people. Surely, in this there is a sign for a nation who reflect. (69) Allah created you, and causes you to die. There are some of you who, after knowing something, will be kept back to the vilest state of life, knowing nothing. Allah is the Knowing, Powerful. (70) In your provisions Allah has preferred some of you above others. But, those who have been preferred do not give their provisions to those whom their right hand possess so that they might be equal therein. What, do they vainly disbelieve the favor of Allah? (71)

    I wish to ask why instead of leaving the Queen locked in a Queen cage for three days, donm't you put a small piece of Queen excluder in front of the opening so she can do her job , not leave and the workers can continue to work?

    • @JeffHorchoff
      @JeffHorchoff  9 месяцев назад +1

      I see no reason why that would not work, however, my consideration is because these bees are stressed out enough from the removal, having an excluder to pass through instead of an unimpeded opening would give them one more thing to stress about. In my opinion, best to let one bee stress, the queen, and since she will be catered to while on lock down not much stress, than to let the majority of bees stress. Of course, this is just my opinion, and I am not advocating any particular way to do it. Thanks for watching. God's peace.
