Hey Lady--> nice arms/guns, and what an awesome interview. I’m 60 yrs old, from San Diego (Poway). I can’t remember who gave me a Sublime cassette, but it was homemade/mixed tape and before the hook in the 1st sing, I WAS HOOKED on Sublime. I had already seen some very cool bands like Iggy Pop opened for the Sex Pistols/Perkins Palace in Pasadena. The Stray Cats opened for the Clash/San Diego. Rolling Stones opened for Bob Marley-Jack Murphy Stadium-& same Stadium…different day Madness-OingoBoingo& the Police….i was lucky to grow up in the 80’s. Anyway back to Sublime … I heard like 15 seconds of the 1st song I was blown away…… I had to see this band……life got bzy but finally I did see them I forget what College it was like 1990 or 91 ….. it was magical. I had a son who is now 32 and he loved Sublime in the womb and still does. I would give a body part to be able to go to a Sublime w/Jakob concert w/my adult son. We’re both in Texas now but we go back to Cali often…. P.S. is Bud still single😊

They still have the experiences from when they weren't sober..... being able to access a similar dark, gritty drug created well of inspiration, but with a clear head and hindsight, might turn out to be better situation

Sweet sentiment towards Jakob but you know just as well as I do his covers of original songs suck. Even though he’s Brads son he sounds like he’s doing goofy karaoke versions and looks like it too.
What’s the problem with hair metal? Still to this day there hasn’t been a greater and more fun rock genre than hair metal. They had the best party songs. They had the best heartbreak songs. They had great guitar hero’s. They had some of the best frontmen ever and their live shows were an event. So I’ll ask once more. What’s the problem with hair metal?
