Today there is snow and freezing cold, today is a good day to start a vehicle that has not been started for 20 years and is stored outdoors 😅. I love your videos boss
my family had the same 2.0 (in red) after the berlin wall fell in east germany as the first western car. i remember sitting in my fathers lap as 6-8 year old and driving through similar forest roads. one time we got stuck in the middle of the night in some kind of field (no one knows anymore what we wanted there in the first place). he pushed, i tried operating clutch and gas to get it free. quite font memories.
Congratulations on another wonderful Sierra rescued! I had the same model, 2.0is 1986 and it required all of the same work to get it back on the road after we pulled it from a Barn, including the timing being incorrec! Great work team keep it up!
Cool old Sierra! Quite rare the 2.0is version, looks to be fairly solid. Strange for cam timing to be out unless the belt had stripped, luckily no valve damage. Excellent start 💪👍
Excellent car. The 2.0i S was quite rare even when new; they were only made for a short while towards the end of Mk1 production. Essentially a cut-price XR4x4.
My father haved the same 2.0 Sierra before 15 , 20 years ! Great memories with this car , it was powerful for its time , my father was complaining that it spends to much gasoline the how time , but drive it anyway !😄
Such a cool looking car. It stands out with its edges and corners. Sad someone had to park it for so long. But it is not dying yet - draws donuts instead. Nice one!👌
The cam in this engine are probably worn or the valves needs a slight adjustment 😁 The oil spray bars over the cam can clog up on those engines if it been infrequent oil changes. Great resurrection 😊👍
Another beautiful Sierra on the channel. Sierra had great design, an incredible stylistic advancement compared to the Taunus. Thanx for the video, flexiny!
This car looks like a car that Ford sold here in the US in the late 80s called Merkur. Didn't last very long, and didn't sell well. Really interesting cars though, I remember. Good job getting this one running again!! 😎

Good engines in those cars i drove whit a worn camshaft for 3 years stil managed to hit 180km/h and ran just fine but it sounded like metal against metal. Sold the car 8 years ago and the car and engine is still alive
What do you do with all the rescued cars? Some of them may start and run but seem beyond salvation..but others with somo work could easily come back to the roads. This (at least it looks) seems like a good candidate to a cheap runarounder if not totally rusted on the main sills
Those were briefly sold in Canada, but not as Fords. Available a through Lincoln/Mercury dealers they were marketed as the "Merkur". They were considered too expensive, too weird looking, and the name too odd. Barely any were sold here and the last one I ever saw was on it's way to the crusher... At least yours is still kind of alive, if a bit loud...😅

Some very nice valuable parts there! If you cleaned the steering wheel up, and its in good condition, that's worth 150 quid all day long. Its not the original, it's a cosworth steering wheel. Hence value. All the lights etc. Lenses. Getting quite scarce these days...
