  • ABC Action News chief meteorologist @denisphillipsweather explains the 11 p.m. update for Hurricane Idalia with meteorologist Jason Adams. Hurricane Idalia continues to strengthen, with forecasters expecting it to be an “extremely dangerous” Category 4 storm at landfall on Wednesday morning. Idalia was originally expected to rapidly intensify into a major Category 3 storm before it made landfall. The storm's path has prompted hurricane warnings and storm surge warnings for the Tampa Bay region through Wednesday. Idalia was located about 125 miles west of Tampa. The system had sustained winds of 110 miles an hour with higher gusts and was moving to the north at 18 miles per hour.

As a hurricane Katrina survivor fill your bathtub, washing machine, or anything you can with water. I bought a lot of solar lights that you put in flower beds for light source at night. Don't forget to put them back outside at day to recharge
if you don't have a generator. Fill your car with gas. Just some small suggestions. Be safe❤🙏

Was first expected to make landfall as a cat one. Quit being scared to overestimate these storms' potential to blow up. Waters' temps are all above average, and the storm was bound to ramp up and intensify very quickly. Yall announce cat 4 impact while everyone is asleep and has no chance for last-minute evacuation

They left out the BIGGEST factor....
The EYE ! ! ! It's moving at TWENTY MILES PER HOUR ! ! ! .... The force this storm surge is going to hit with will be MUCH harder than 99% of hurricane strikes. Most hit at 8-10 mph.
130 mph winds with a 20 mph 12' surge.... Lucky there isn't much there. But what is, will be gone. Have you ever been to Steinhatchee? The Three Little Pigs houses.... A fishing VILLAGE.
