Prayers for All in the path! I rode out Ian here in Venice FL in a strong Bldg and still had large items thrown up against it. Thank God for Hurricane Windows! The Screaming Wind Sound of a Hurricane will haunt Ya!! I Must say Get Out while You can If Not in a Very Strong Bldg. Don't need to go far. Just out of reach. Please! Take it from Someone who was right in middle of Ian..which was A Cat 5.
Looks more and more like it’s gonna shift west to me and go towards apalachicola. Last radar shows a significant westward jump as do the forward winds. Be safe.
Impact in FL is gonna be minimal. Its hitting an area on the coast with low population density and the towns inland are relatively small. The largest being the Gainsville area that's largely gonna miss this storm with perhaps brief hurricane force winds. Live Oak, Perry is gonna take a big hit but then again they're inland where the winds drop off rapidly. This storm also has a very small diameter eyewall which is another big plus. Its not a very large storm. I'm hoping this is the last of it for the season but we still have the month of September which is largest part of the serious hurricane season. For those impacted? Be safe! Stay away from down power lines and if you use generators please place them outdoors. Do NOT back feed your residence unless you know wtf you're doing!
Ruh Roh, remember when DeSantis didn't do what he had to do to prepare Florida for the hurricane season and said about it, "Well, let's just hope we don't get a hurricane"..... If I were anyone in the path of the storm, I'd leave the state, it's gonna get insane, Florida will not be ready. Stay safe folks.

That is for the people who can get homeowners insurance. Insurance companies are fleeing Florida at a rapid pace. Those that are still here are canceling the policies of people who have roofs over ten years old. Oh, the wind/hurricane deductible is 5-10% of the reconstruction cost, not a fixed dollar amount. Even Mr. Medicare fraud rick scott didn't let things get this bad.
