Tom and Stacey this was the first video we saw when we discovered your channel! Little did we know that we would later be able to call you friends! Thank you!
Though my plans aren't exactly the RV one you guys are on, I do enjoy the general direction it leads and wish all the best for the both of you. My early retirement and homesteading plans stay alive from every bit of encouragement from sites like yours. Clint-Groves, TX
My wife and I are full timers and are now in for the winter at Jamaica Beach RV resort. Been here before. I appreciate your history lesson of Galveston and your information about local eateries. We haven't visited all of them yet but look forward to trying those that you recommended. We have tried the Original Mexican and agree with your review. Thanks.
Awesome Kent!! Enjoy the island. Maybe we’ll see you down there at some point this winter. Tell Ron, Dora, Nate, Angie & Eric at Jamaica Beach Hi for us. 😁
Glad I found this. We are headed to Stella Mare RV Park for Galveston’s Mardi Gras festivities in a couple of weeks. We did this two years ago after going to Mardi Gras in Louisiana. Stayed at Sandpiper then. Galveston puts on a great parade. Thanks, as always.
This is a nice park we have stayed at the Galveston Island RV Resort and Park last year at Christmas. Had friends Juan and Paulina Oltra that stayed at Stella Mare during the same time. Nice place.
Thanks so much Letie! We're glad you enjoyed it. We have a lot of Galveston videos... we love that area. Here are our most popular Galveston Island videos if you'd like to see more: ruclips.net/video/H01pfwgIF4E/видео.html
Thank you for the video. We used your jamaica beach video to take our first trip in our RV last year. Always put tons of information on your vids. Thumbs up!
What a great video about Galveston! I never knew the history to that depth of Galveston. It seems to be quite a place that we would want to visit as we are traveling now and not far from it we are in Texas currently near Padre Island. I am seriously thinking that we should go to Galveston on our way to South Carolina. Would love to see it. Again thanks for sharing the history of Galveston and the seawall and the fine restaurants you recommend. Safe travels. Sincerely, Shay's Ways
Beautiful rv resort! We just got back from San Luis Pass Rv Park and loved our stay and fishing there! This looks like a great park with lots of amenities, but more than we want to spend( at least for summer rates:) Thanks for sharing your stay. I'm a new subbie too. Judy
Great review, we have reservations there at the end of August ,we were at Jamaica beach rv Park about three weeks ago,we eat at the original Mexican cafe every time we go to Galveston, love it
Nice video you may want to consider a dash cam for your own protection, if you are in an accident you have proof. We use the Garmin in our Class A. ...safe travels.
I enjoyed your video. My husband and I were full-time RVers for 5.5 years and we settled in Galveston last Oct. I just wanted to let you know that the streetcars are coming back to Galveston. They were supposed to be up and running this summer but it is taking a little longer for repairs and it sounds like one will be running by the end of the summer. The trolleys will still be used from what I understand because they go in different areas. Safe travels to you!!!
Been to Galveston Island 3 times, First time June 1964, We walked the beach and threw the stranded jelly fish back in the bay. Second time we went with the Power Squadron and had meetings elections and then went out on the intercostal and plotted positions of Marks. Third time we went with some friends and just bummed around the Strand and the Railroad Museum.
WOW! Been eating at the Original Mexican Café since I was a child! Great video y'all! Stacie, great history about the storms and the rebuilding! I'm about 10 miles from there in Texas City. PEACE OUT !!!
Hi Ric. We had a very good experience there. Very clean, very nice folks, good facilities and close to everything in Galveston. I don’t think any of the RV parks have shade down there. The Gulf breeze is nice.
I know it's been about a year since this was uploaded, but I just came across y'alls videos. Nicely done. My wife and I have visited Galveston for many years and love the funkiness. We are heading back in early Sept and will be paying our first visit to Jamaica Beach RV. Can't wait! Maybe we'll cross paths one day. Happy camping!
Hey Walter! We're glad you found us! We love Galveston too. And we love Jamaica Beach. Hope to see y'all one of these days. We've been visiting the island our whole lives and still find something we've never noticed before on every trip. We have a Galveston playlist here on our channel if you'd like to see some of the things we've found over the years. ruclips.net/video/4fsaT-3V7DM/видео.html Have fun in September and tell Ron, Dora, Nate, Angie and Eric at Jamaica Beach RV Resort that we said Hi!
Love the video, im a newbie to the channel....Following you guys as you seem like great people to sit and talk with. Southwest Virginia and Texas people talk a lot a like....love it
I stumbled across your You Tube videos. We are planning to spend time in Texas later in 2020. Your videos are very helpful. Thanks Y'all. Will watch more. We have been full time RVing for 3 years. Hope you are doing it, too.
Hey Charlene! Welcome. We're glad you found us. We've been full-time for almost 2 years now. We hope our videos help you with your Texas travel plans. Tons to see here!
Love the video guys. Cool to see the new rig with the Jeep. Galveston is one of my most special places in the world. My cousin lives two blocks off the Seawall near 61st. We were there last summer and the water was blue all the way in. I’ll have to remember Stella Mare, nice pull-through spots. We stayed at Flagship back in the 90’s. If your looking for good eating try Tortugas, Shrimp-n-Stuff, or The Spot but you probably knew that. I’ll sure try the original Mexican cafe for sure the next time we’re down there.
Hi David! Thanks so much! We would love to see the blue water come all the way in. We haven't been that lucky yet. :) . Thanks for the restaurant suggestions, We like Tortuga. We haven't been to Shrimp-n-Stuff or The Spot, but we've heard great things about both. We will definitely check them both out soon. Have a great week!
Thanks for another great weekend trip! I hate that Y'all will be have to be spending so much time in Galveston watching baseball games! Hahaha! Yippee!! Y'all have it sooooo TOUGH!! Heehee! Seriously, Y'all deserve the good life!! You've got my mouth watering for some good Tex-Mex now! Love your new rig! Can't wait for Y'all to be full-timing it! What an adventure we will all have!! Happy trails!!
LOL! I guess someone's got to do it! HaHa! Thank you so much for the comment. We're so glad to hear that you are excited about our future videos. The best is yet to come and we appreciate you joining us on this journey!
Glad I found you, nice new motorhome!! We are in the early stage of planning to go full time and going to enjoy following along for the encouragement from ya’ll. Nice channel with the best info I’ve seen. Lots to look at. Good Luck and safe travels.
Wow Randy! Thank you so much. We really appreciate that. Welcome to our channel and our journey. We’re glad you’re here. Keep us posted on y’alls journey also!
We are Friendswood RVers and have always stayed at Jamaica Beach RV. Stella Mar looked nice. Have you also stayed at Sandpiper? I'd like to know your impressions.
Hi Patrick! One of the things we love about Galveston is the large number of nice RV parks. We haven't stayed at Sandpiper. It looks nice, especially for the proximity to the East End of the island. We enjoyed our stay at Stella Mare. Our go to park in Galveston is always Jamaica Beach RV Resort.
We stayed at Jamaica Beach RV resort this summer. Had a good time. New subscriber and fellow Texan! Looking at replacing our Lance trailer with a Tiffin after a while. How are you liking the Tiffin so far?
Hey Neighbor! Welcome to our channel. Thanks for subscribing. We are loving our Tiffin! We have been very happy with their customer service. We always enjoy Jamaica Beach.
I think they are working on the old trollys I hear the other day. Ever since Ike they have been saying that. If Mr Mitchell was still alive they would have them running. Michael Burger is Guuuuud! I have eaten every where Galveston. I lived on Market just south by UTMB. Now in Oklahoma. My heart is still in Galveston.
Hi Mickey! We like the state park also. It can be tough to get a spot there during the summer. We want to go back to the bay side of the state park with our kayaks.
Hey Guys! Always happy to see a new video pop up from y'all! I can remember from my earliest childhood, of around 7 yrs old, going to Galveston. I wished I had a $5 bill for every time I've been ther since (i"m now 65!). Good information on the eateries, too! Loving the new 'ride' you have now! But, I'm excited about my very near purchase of the Roadtrek 190 Popular that I will be starting my full time living in very soon! Great video as always! Travel safe, stay happy, love God, and, have greatness everyday! (7/22/2018 Sunday 8:29pmCST Humble, Texas)
Hi Scott! That’s a tough question to answer because we still have a lot of the Texas Gulf Coast to explore and it depends a lot on what someone wants to experience. The coastal towns tend to be more active during the summer, but they’re also busier then. The “off season” of late fall to early spring can be great for folks wanting a more laid back experience (and for folks wanting to watch the migrating birds). The beaches tend to get better as you go further south toward Corpus Christi and Padre Island, but towns like Galveston have a lot of history and fun things to do. We look forward to spending time all along the Texas coast.
Looking for mid priced restaurant to take 10-12 people after my daughter’s graduation from UTMB in August! Maybe Italian? Love Olympia but too much $$ for large group!
I know we full time . The only thing i couldnt do is sell my home . To me it was like i sold my big house of 3860 SQF on 646 acers to 1742 SQF home on 2 Acers it was hard .

Hi Grover. You’re probably talking about Dellanerra RV Park. It’s on the west end of Galveston just past the Seawall. It is on the beach. Sandpiper RV Park is on the East end of the island. It is also at the beach, but sits a bit elevated above it.
Good video! I've been to Galveston many times and it's a beautiful city. Glad to see the blue water. I might get down to Galveston pretty soon. Me and my wife are taking a trip to eastern Europe, and maybe in a couple of years I'll go back to the states to see my brother (he lives in West Virginia). If you ever get a chance come on over to Melbourne Australia, it's a great city to see and live in. I lived in the Houston / Galveston area for over 40 years before I moved to Australia to marry my beautiful wife. I'm a retired accountant, and me and my wife have been traveling the world.
Hi Gregory! Thank you very much. Congratulations on your retirement. Australia is definitely on our bucketlist of places to visit one of these days! Safe travels! Have fun in Europe.
I enjoyed the video and the info but I think you need a better camera and some sort of stabilizer or at least a longer selfie pole. Your video warped like jello many times a (problem most cell phones and cheap video cameras have when you move them to quickly) and was very shaky making it a bit uncomfortable to watch. But I did and I liked it never the less. BUT...if the technical quality was better I'd bet you'd reach a wider audience.
Thanks for the feedback. We used our small Olympus for this video in order to be compact and a bit less obvious as we were walking around but you're right, it had a few issues. Thanks for watching through it. We're working to correct that in the future.
They don't make ours anymore. I think the new one that is most like ours is probably the RVND 7 www.randmcnally.com/product/RVND-7. Ours is definitely not perfect, but we like it overall. We've had it since 2013. Rand McNally and Garmin seem to be the primary companies making GPS systems specifically for RVs. Here's a link to the Amazon lists of RV GPS systems: amzn.to/2A7jNc4. We like that you can enter the size of your rig, propane info, preference for toll roads, u-turns, highways. Look for one that will offer map updating at no additional cost.
Spoken like a true Texan. I always have to explain our water. It’s not pollution it’s Mississippi mud. I love Galveston.
We do too Barbara!
Tom and Stacey this was the first video we saw when we discovered your channel! Little did we know that we would later be able to call you friends! Thank you!
Absolutely 💯, we are the lucky ones though, because we got to meet y’all! 🙌🏻
I live by hobby airport in Houston...lol...we love your videos and tours of RV parks ... stay safe and enjoy the open roads!
Thanks for watching Casey!

Awesome Don! Will you be in Galveston for the 1st or 2nd weekend of Mardi Gras? We agree, it's a lot of fun!
We will be there the 24th, leaving on the 27th.
@@doncanaday6406 Hope to see y'all there!
The trolley is back starting in the strand...and it comes to the seawall boulevard
We love the trolley!
Ah.. so the Mississippi makes the water there brown!! I didn’t know that! When we sailed out of Galveston, we were talking about the brown water
Yep! Every so often the tides will shift to bring blue water to Galveston for a few days.
This is a nice park we have stayed at the Galveston Island RV Resort and Park last year at Christmas. Had friends Juan and Paulina Oltra that stayed at Stella Mare during the same time. Nice place.

This RV is the very Coach that I will buy in a couple of years - looking forward to your adventures!
Awesome! Hopefully you’ll be able to learn alot about the coach from our future videos.
Got to love Galveston. Never seen this park! Nice history, We love the "Spot"
We need to get to the Spot. We’ve heard a lot of good things about it.
Nice video you may want to consider a dash cam for your own protection, if you are in an accident you have proof. We use the Garmin in our Class A. ...safe travels.

Thank you!

You worked oil field?
Hey Tony. We've had friends over the years who did, but we have not.
@@rvamericayall Thanks broski!
and the PRICE is?
Here’s their rates page: www.stellamarervresort.com/rv-sites/
what GPS do you have
We have an RV specific GPS by Rand McNally
which model
They don't make ours anymore. I think the new one that is most like ours is probably the RVND 7 www.randmcnally.com/product/RVND-7. Ours is definitely not perfect, but we like it overall. We've had it since 2013. Rand McNally and Garmin seem to be the primary companies making GPS systems specifically for RVs. Here's a link to the Amazon lists of RV GPS systems: amzn.to/2A7jNc4. We like that you can enter the size of your rig, propane info, preference for toll roads, u-turns, highways. Look for one that will offer map updating at no additional cost.
I purchased the RVND 7, a couple weeks ago. I thought it would work better with our paper map atlas is Rand Mcnally.
After you’ve used it for a while, please let us know how you like it.
My bus only runs 62 mph you probably wouldn't run with me.
