I just wanted to say thank you so much for this series of videos! Because of you, I was able to swap out the transmission in used fz1 which the seller lied about having a clutch issue, and turned out the entire transmission was fried, and locked up while I test drove it. Ended up getting stuck with the bike (seller wouldn't give my money back), and you are the reason I was able to successfully revive it! Thank you so much, and God bless you sir!

What about the exhaust header pipes behind the radiator? When were those removed? I need to remove those to get at the coolant drain bolt. The head came off when I tried to drain the coolant and there isn't any way to get at it with a bolt extractor. I don't know how to remove those header pipes.

It was before I recorded the video unfortunately. But you could check at the end of the video series when I put it back together and just do the opposite?

Thanks for helping me out. Somehow I thought that the headers pipes were epoxied in position.
Hey man just a fellow youtuber wanted to stop by and say thanks for the great content. I blew hy head gasket on my 2001 fz1 bout a year ago and your videos helped tremendously during the rebuild. Great video...Im doing the same, can you tell me where i could purchase the gasket kit for the engine?
I think for this engine i mostly just went with yamaha gaskets from partzilla. It came out to less than one of the "gasket kits" plus its all oem.
@@DeWoodysShop Remember the part number? Do the kit include top and bottom set of gaskets and ORings? Thanks for your videos!
Is this the same procedure for a FZ 2007?
2007 FZ1? No they changed in 2006. The engine is simular to my 2004 r1 videos though.
