  • Hey people,
    Hope you enjoy this video, do not forget to subscribe, comment and share if you enjoyed it. This was me building a motorcycle engine for the same time after my engine blew. My Yamaha FZ1 AKA Fazer 1000 blew because of the oil/water pump failing causing problems with my tensioner, big end shells, pistons and Camshaft. Feel free to check out my last video where I removed my engine from the bike:

    Godaamnn son!!..mad respect..i'm inspired to blow my engine out..nah..but i'm inspired to remove each and every component in the engine and reassemble it, looks like a lotta fun.. (i do have a legit mechanic on speed dial)

      Haha thanks buddy, was a lot of work but great fun and I learnt a hell of a lot! But I would say, if it is not broken, don't mess with it haha. I am happy I managed to get the chance to rebuild it, but it was full of hard times wanting it to be simple. Thanks again buddy!

    I also own a Yamaha FZ1 Fazer and i love it. Such a beautiful and comfortable bike and that brutal accleration over 6000rpm is just addicting. Cant belive how its possible to rebuild a engine with no experience but okay ;). Be sure to treat her nice afterwards and offer her the best full synthetic oil possible. :D

    Very well done on the build!....i used the same stud extractor on a Bandit 1200 when i snapped one stud changing the exhaust...worked a treat! I also have a Fz1 and looking at the exhausts studs i think i'm gonna snap every one when i take the header off to clean around there cos the rust and the heat looks like its welded the studs in there.....a lot worse than the Bandit looked

  • @DeWoodysShop
    @DeWoodysShop 5 лет назад +2

    Since you changed the crank did it have the same journal size numbers as the original? One thing about the rings, its not always necessary to change them, but i would check all of the end gaps before putting them back in. Especially when going in a different cylinder set. It should be fine though unless your rings were really bad. Looks like you may have a bit of an exhaust leak?

    • @TheDonInLondon
      @TheDonInLondon  5 лет назад +1

      Yes same numbers as it came as a set. The orings came also as a set with pistons and barrels to be sure. Exhaust was not on tight but yes it was an exhaust leak as i didn't want to tighten all the way. Since fitting properly she works like a dream :) few changes still to make however

      Hey buddy, no always let the bike run to temperature before riding hard, even a few minutes before setting off. She did get ridden hard most of the time as I ride quickly. I did have the chain slapping sounds coming before which was quiet to begin with. I should have stopped then and got her recovered.
