    Timely video. I have a cleaning jar setup just like yours, 90% alcohol, a bottle of Speed Cream, and probably 8 or 10 sets of bearings I've accumulated due to sheer laziness. Really need to clean and reuse before I buy any more. BTW, nice pro-style 'dang, must be something wrong with this skate' move at 3:32. I give my stick a lot of hard looks after it causes pucks to fly 10 feet wide of the net.
    Real dog fight in the Central Division right now, eh? The Blues are up 2 points on the Stars for that 3rd spot with 11 games left. Hopefully Seguin and Radulov have big days in a losing effort against Vancouver tomorrow - they're both on my fantasy team.

    Hey D, love your vids. I used to skate downtown Dallas back in '97. It was great! Looks even better now. Can you review your bearing brand and specs. Thx

    I'm just a year in but, I guess that's why I love the SG9 bearings, I just use the Bones oil.

    I have an old set of bsb swiss bearings that I'm slowly bringing back to life. I started on them thinking they were shot, come to find out they are just dirty. Without knowing any different I started cleaning them with gun solvent/oil ...its in an aerosol can. It seemed to blast the dirt out good, and cleans very well as well as leaves them somewhat lubed. So! Idk if I should use that or not, but I definitely like your process and I have some bearing lube, I think it's lynx *(the guy at the rink ordered the wrong one, I asked him for the bones speed cream)*. Anyway, let me know what you think of the gun solvent for cleaning bearings. One thing I've noticed is it's really messy, and gets your hands oily...good idea to wear rubber gloves when using it.

      I’m not sure I can say. I don’t know much about gun oil, except the one I use for my guns! Haha. I can’t imagine it would hurt the bearings, but I can’t say for sure. I would just make sure to lube them.

    Great video, I've got quad rollerskates and was wondering if I should get the powerdyne or the Bont press? What do you think? How has the powerdyne held up over the years ?

    How thick do you find the Phil grease, do you feel like it stalls your bearings when outdoors or can you not tell a difference?

    • @DeezSkates
      @DeezSkates  5 лет назад

      I honestly don’t notice a difference in the grease packed bearings, but also I don’t use it for plastic races bearings. Only all metal. I didn’t even know these were grease packed before I cleaned them for the first time!

    never cleaned my bearings. I'm too lazy for that.. but maybe someday I will use that video as a guide :)

      It's okay, man. If you have nicely sealed bearings you can get away with it. I had a set of Seba ILQ 5s once that I didn't care much about so I skated them for about two years without cleaning before a few of the died!

    Imagine skating at a skate park and fruit booter pulls out that tank to change his bearings lmao

      XO
      I would do it and not even care. Lol.
      Luckily, I don’t skate metal hub wheels at skate parks so I don’t need it there. 😜

    If biger bearings are invented will give a revolurion in skating world. Big wheels have limitations because they still rolls in small bearings.
