Finally made Azorius Mill with Tome in bo1. Although initially I was very skeptical, as it is very uncomfortable to play without Lockdown, so I had to add two copies of Beza to compensate it, plus there is a small synergy Beza+Tome if we played Tome before(a chance to get add. card). Also Tome is very difficult to play against Slickshot Show Off. You just can't drop it on the table on turn 2-3, when it plotted. You will just die immediately. You know what I mean. So this was probably the main problem that I doubted. Went 11-2 and it was a very convincing session. Overall, I am satisfied. P.s. I hope you understand why I didn't take Lockdown.
It’s really strong against the current aggro meta, the problem I ran into is the bastards refused to scoop even after I had full control and made me finish them off, which I get, but it got old after about the 6th or 7th time 😅
I've also been trying the authority of the councils/split up package (2 and 4) in the place of day of judgement. Think it may be slightly worse as there is way less forge tokens in meta now. In anycase, thanks for sharing your UW :) your deck and play are fun to watch
I'm just looking for you to make the MOST MAGNIFICENT Solid Blue cancel the world deck again. You showed me the way over a year ago and I've been obsessed and chasing that level of play ever since.
Hey, correct me if I'm wrong, but magic seems to be moving away from that. They stopped printing so many counterspells, made existing ones more neiche or bad, and made creatures hard to get around because everything blows up on death or has ward X. Hate cards like screaming nemesis or sheoldred exist. Screaming nemesis is more busted than anything out there against control and midrange because you can trigger it yourself and it still get sidelined because its 3 mana, so standard moves faster than that. And then wizards flooded the card pool with like 700 cards in foundations so you can't anticipate whats going on. It could be anything. 1 for 1 trade is also kinda gone, everything card is worth 2 cards now with adventures and rooms and etb draw on beanstalk and whatnot. Someone literally drew so many cards with a 2 mana enchantment that Sonio milled them out in this very video. It has its moments where its cool but I cant afford to do anything other than watch Sonio kick ass. So my points are 1. Counters and removal got worse. 2. Hate cards. 3. 1 to 1 trade concept is gone It feels like they are trying to remove control as a viable play option. All my opinion, but I have been thinking about it for a while. What are your thoughts on that?
Lies are quite ineffective now. It loses value in late games, and does not stop early aggro decks as effective as some instant removals. also the best 2 drop is prolly tome, yes.
I'd say lies already got less popular in Bloomburrow (when spellgyre is introduced). After Foundations, tome is the best 2 drop which makes Lies irrelevant. The only people who's using lies effectively would be Azor oculus(does not syngergize with Djinn but still a good anti boardwipe) and Jeskai Control (Chandra duplication&steaming sauna infinite hand so that Lies is still relevant late game)

Looks amazing I'll def be trying it out! Thanks for sharing Sonio, our master of control sensei

1:05:44 why would you keep a tap land instead a untap one. I don’t get it

This seems to be consistent in this new meta. Thanks. We love to see this new Dimir getting destroyed

Game 2 Player felt the aura of the draws from that scrutiny hahaha
Hi, just interesting that no more lies are absent. Because of tomes too? Or 6 colourless lands?
