I think if casetify was ripping stuff from a different company like say Apple or Google, no one would care because they are corporate bs. But since dbrand and ifixit both made full integration and culture within the pc/tech community, people really care about these brands.
What makes this situation more amazing is that DBrand got a lot of attention calling this out and that means many customers would be more incline to buy DBrand due to the positive PR this situation produced.
Well to defend them you can’t really apologize during an ongoing lawsuit because it is just admitting guilt any lawyer would tell them keep their comments about the lawsuit vague. But they are totally wrong in every other way regarding stealing dbrands product.

Probably the Casetify people will find some low ranking nobody/nobodies to pin it all on, fire him/them, then act like they took action. Hopefully they will at least give the scapegoats a nice payout for taking the rap, but obviously they won't.
That probably won’t make the lawsuit go away, it may make the court give them lesser penalties but the damage was kinda already done and they already have an open case against them for similar reasons

The Co Creator of teardown (the stolen phone case skins) calls them Easter eggs because he helped design them and literally put them in there for people to find. Casetify removed the obvious ones but left a ton of the smaller ones because they didn’t care. Now D brand IS suing
I first seen this on JerryRigEverything's channel, and I must say when (notice I didn't say "if"?) Zack and dbrand win their lawsuit, Casetify is pretty much done. It's one thing to copy an idea from someone else - it's an entirely different and frankly much more egregious thing to actually plagiarize a design and expect to make money from it.
This is _wildly_ disappointing, as some of my favorite content creators, like Izzyzzz, have had sponsorships from Casetify over the years. I _had_ considered legit buying their products, but now, after _this?_ I can't, in good concscience, do that now. :P. Oh well, I suppose. :P.
Actually zach said they went as far as using the images on the website that's why there's a camera lense etc where there isn't one on the same product.
casetify cases are overpriced garbage. I got one as a gift and the design on the case started peeling and the bumper/edges of the case started separating after like 6 months (never dropped the phone a single time in those 6 months either) replaced it with some Walmart $30 case and been going strong for a year
Yea the cases they ''make'' looks cheap AF to I mean 80$ for a hunk a junk is so tragic being that the fact they are a billion dollar company and still can pump out good quality cases they even gone out of their way to copy someone else's creation i always knew that they where very shady and it seems i was right 😂

casetify's cases are 80+ dollars... for a clear plastic case... i got my spigan carbon fiber case for like 20 and my phone has survives so many drops. Why are they charging so much for a basic "protective" case?
because youre mostly paying for the brand. thats how it is in a capitalist market. its like asking why an iphone costs so much when you can buy a samsung with the same exact specs for several hundred dollars cheaper. because at that point youre not paying for JUST the item, youre paying for the social status of the brand that comes with it.

Kind of a bad for Dbrand to put all the evidence. In court this won't really help them, because at that time Casetify might cover everything up, but maybe they have some more evidence that will be even better. Still, very risky to do.
I would imagine that it is of little relevance, casetify sold their rip offs in bestbuy, it’s not like they can hide that, and the video and physical evidence exists even if the site has been changed
