looks soooo much better without decals
I couldn't agree more!
Replace the fake fuel filler with a waterproof speaker then you can have tunes as you ride!
The bike looks a hundred times better without those decals, you made the right call.
10mph increase with them off
The funny part is Kawasaki actually made an electric Ninja but it was butt slow.
yeah to soil the ninja name with a slug, iirc 0-60 was like 20 seconds, it looked nice but so what unless you wanted a lawn ornament. the kawa needed bigger motor and batteries to match
Lol ironically this bootleg ninja is better than the actual EV Ninja 😅
And way over priced. Total failure.
4 minutes in, and I can't stop chuckling over how small that battery is 😂
I live in Connecticut and have this same bike. I’m definitely gonna be tuning in to see what your bike becomes. I got a wrecked RZ for cheap and have been slowly upgrading it. I put in a 72v70ah battery, FarDriver 72680, and a bunch of ninja parts. I love it now, goes 75mph and has 100miles of range.
Nice to see another one in CT! Your upgrades sound pretty sweet!
Well I can tell you what I have on my bike which looks very much like the one you have. I installed ND96530 Fardriver controller current line /Phase: 250A/530A, two lithiun battery packs 84V nominal 50A connected in parallel, a 96V-5000Watts QS hub motor, a digital volt meter and an analogue GPS speedometer I tell you it rides very nice
good idea. So many. Be nice to find the good frame and treat like a modular system if possible.
This is a cool fun project - but for people interested in just buying something comparable, CSC motorcycles has a few electric motorcycles/scooters that are worth a look as they won’t be WAY out of the $5000 price park:
CSC ES5 - scooter, 50mph, 60Vx31Ahr x3 batteries, 75 mile range $4000
CSC E-RT3 - maxi scooter, 75mph, 72Vx96Ahr battery, 80mile range, $6000
CSC E-RX1 - motorcycle, 80mph, 96Vx60Ahr battery. 80-100 mile range depending on speed, $7000.
Def will wanna upgrade the brakes with higher power. Cool project though, electric motorcycles are a wonderful form of transportation/fun.
I really should... I looked at brembos and cringed at the price tag... I think a system with abs would be smart too
@@TylersTrailRides That would be smart, though from what I know ABS can be a bit difficult to install. But its worth looking into.
It looks amazing for the money, I'm subscribed to see what you do to it bro
Awesome thank you! You won't be disappointed... 96v 450amp controller is on its way 🤫
Good idea removing the graphics, they were chintzy. 😮 😊
Sine wave controller = more range less vibration
I have the same bike from Emmo , it has pedals to make it legal in Canada. It's supposed to be limited to 35kph . Mine will do 90 kph for 70 kilometers.
I'll follow for this build. Looking forward to it.
Does it go at least 60mph?
Nice bike! Would love to something like that myself
Its definitely worth it!
75 for insurance for the whole year? Must be nice, Try doing that in Michigan, lol
@@Moes_Prep_and_Tech i got mine through progressive, it may he available there too
@@TylersTrailRides Michigan has Bizarre insurance laws that are hard to get around. You pay a premium for medical for something like one million dollars, unless you can prove you already have medical insurance that will cover you in an accident for that minimum amount and have a legal waiver. I own 2 vehicles and a Fifth Wheel camper in Michigan when I purchased my house in NI I was floored when I found out how much insurance would cost me! And I have USAA they are half what everyone else charges. And since I live in the Wisconsin border I see a lot of people finding ways to register their vehicles in WI to save a Huge amount of money! Michigan is no joke not cheap at all ?
? the camper is USAA through progressive because USAA doesn't do recreational 😮 so they partnered wiy Progressive at a lower rate
A bike being “completely silent “isnt always a good thing…
Honestly, for the money that seems like a much better deal than some of these Super73-style ebikes. Also, props to you for getting your bike registered, see too many people with basically e-motos riding around on bike paths and sidewalks giving all ebike owners a bad name.
i hope you will make video instaling upgrades
Yes I will have a series of videos upgrading this bike!
Looking forward to see you build this thing out to something properly street Worthy. Bigger battery and controller first I assume. See if maybe a better brain for that motor can put some more pep in it's step.
Then consider a bigger motor.
I like your idea of rebuilding the electrical system for more power. But getting a Chinese made battery? Spend the extra and get one from Powerful Lithium or Northeast Battery and get quality (read non Chinese) cells. Not only will you get more range, but you'll be able to charge at higher rates safely.
Better discharge cycle to! More consistent power delivery!
I'm looking at quotes from multiple battery makers including some local ones atm
Some of the best lithium cells in the world are Chinese
@@JohnnyThomas-ps6mp 🤣🤣🤣🤣
90% are relabelled Chinese batteries. Only difference is maybe an extra quality control.
Thinking otherwise is as naive as thinking HD is 100% American.
I've said this for years but they should come out with an electric scooter to compete with a Grom/150cc scooter's performance, I don't think people would mind registering it if it's cheap enough but I wouldn't feel safe unless the thing can hit about 45-50 mph and would like about an 80-100 mile range so it can do daily driver duties with some overhead distance. This motorcycle is a good start and if it could do what you ask then in performance I see it selling pretty good if after all mods it goes for $3-4k. Btw how much was that battery?
Subscribed to see the rang you can get on this bike :)
The reason why electric motorcycles are a bad idea is because you cant hear them. It’s the reason motorcycles are loader than other vehicles
... I got something like this in the video and I realized that gear reduction in a chain really gives you a lot of range.... Someone I bought my sport bike it's definitely gonna have a chain and adjustable gearing..
This is a hub drive bike, that's not how these work
Looks like a ton of fun bro
Hello my friend I see you hooking up your bike and I hope you got your license plate
Very cool to be in so cheap! but you always end up upgrading to parts that come at higher price points. 60% of the cost of e vehicles is the battery, so you know how cheap the rest of the bikes are.
Sine wave controller more range
Could you make a tutorial on the battery cable switch. How you solder the cables to the new battery connector.
I watched this video to learn how to do it ruclips.net/video/6BH6V6Nr5Y8/видео.htmlsi=aboHPw44FjDPpk8y
looks so good , man
It's too slow to be safe on the street stock, your link shows a top speed of 40 MPH. There are ebikes that go that fast. It's cool you can register it though, getting tickets for no license, registration and insurance is no fun. With about 30 more MPH in mods it would rock. Your end goals seem spot on.
Imagine pulling up next to a GXR while waiting at a light.
You can put a huge battery in there, i have the same power but on a 65 pounds bicycle.
The plan is to go big! I have an overkill controller on its way in right now
To small of a battery you could have went with a 80-100ah after with that much space probably 80ah would be minimum especially with that weight it has to push you won't get much range out of it
Thats the plan, this is the battery from my razor that I already had
Where did you buy it? Is it worth it?
top speed?
They made getting to the battery so unfriendly.
Id enjoy just keeping it stock
Would my scooter license work on this bike
I was going to ask you where you from are you from New Jersey I can ride my bike over there to see you get my bike hooked up
Do you need an M-1 endorsment to ride this bike legally in the state of CT? Also wondering how much the Motorcycle wheighs out of the box with no battery? I love this build already. I subbed to see how your build turns out. Have fun, ride safe 😁✌️
Yes anything with a plate in CT is a motorcycle. That being said many 2 wheeled vehicles fall under the "motorized cycle" laws in CT (think moped / scooter) and don't need to be registered / plated. I'm no lawyer so please do your own research on what's legal in your local area
Keep it up! Content is awesome
Interesting! Looks like they don't have any left, but they have some other bike that look like clones of the Sondors e-moto. I guess in that case, it would be more likely that you'd actually get it, since sondors went bankrupt 😂
Honestly, I'm not sure about the batteries that come with these bikes. Have heard some horror stories from people
The link is a 1760.00 sold out bike you got the link to the 1460 bike ?
can we get a link for it
Added link in the description
wow...really eye-opening work!! sub'd/liked, tanx! 🙂
Thanks for the sub!
Where did you buy the bike from?
I think i bought the last one but heres the link www.flyebike.com/product-page/rz?srsltid=AfmBOoryxmBVwfuBY7yOG-SPYkT9o2x35-AomDpSsdVJ-M90-HJRFA2y
Hey can you tell me where u got this bike from
Link added to the video description
Do they provide any heat at all
How much speed and range are you hoping to get out of this bike when all is said and done?
Bike looks rlly good. You live in CT as well? What’s the name of the trail you were riding with your razor? Would love to try it out.
Thanks man! I mostly ride the Razor on the dirt roads out in the state forest near me
Did you have any issues with insurance?
None at all! Was super easy
Hi, is it registered as an ebike or a motorcycle? I am in Massachusetts. Thanks...
Hey wait on the web site there’s an optional 72v battery why didn’t you do that just saying might’ve saved you from putting the 8 connector
The only batteries available were the lead acid ones, and ive heard the stock batteries from fly are not good
When you say you were getting up to 55 were you meaning mph or kph?
Mph
Now heres the thing, while im on my V strom and going 250+ miles, your stuck somewhere at maybe 50 miles, waiting a LONG time for a charge, if i travel 500 miles to my destination it took me only about 6 hours or so, while your EV bike, or any EV vehicle takes a couple day Minimum, so???
I never claimed for it to be practical, I just want to build a custom electric bike. There's nothing more to it
@@TylersTrailRides Cool! sometime in the future batteries may become better
Well there are many advantages of electric motorcycles and some actually charge quite fast using ccs. The Energica Eva Ribelle RS is one of the fastest charging electric motorcycle with 170 miles range at 50 mph and fast charge power of 24 kw so full charge takes around one hour but you want to eat and stretch anyways when riding long distances with motorcycle. Also just going fast to some place using motorcycles misses their idea a bit because riding should about journey and exploration and not getting to somewhere as fast as possible. For that you should just take your bike with train to some cool pace to ride.
I’ve been wanting to get one but site has been sold out 😭
I think i got one of the last ones, they are supposed to be replacing this bike with another that doesn't look as good
@ damn that’s lame I was money ready too. Any recommendations for similar price range?
Do you need a motorcycle license to register this ebike?
Not to register, but you're supposed to have one to ride it on the street. At least where I live that's the case
I had a 1984 RZ350. Where do you put the 2-stroke oil in for the auto oiler?
Awesome
shoulda got a hawk 250
Where did you get the?
Added a link in the description
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
That’s so awesome!! Goat Power Bikes sells a $1,500, 50 amp hour battery
Thanks! Unfortunately those batteries are only 60v and only can output a fraction of the amperage I'm going to need
It's a good b8ke to upgrade
Dude who did you buy from and how do you get delivery. When I ask for delivery to uk and to my house all dealers say they can't do it. Did you get from customes
Im in the US and these are sold out of NYC. I ordered it online and it showed up in the back of a uhaul at my house 3 days later lol
Bro , when you find out let please comment back , I’m in the UK and I want one too
I want one
who did you buy this bike from? I was looking at some off alibaba and was getting prices 2500 and up. The bike I wanted was 4500 incld delivery and customs
I got mine from Fly Ebike, link in the description. I was planning on doing that with a mid drive sport bike from alibaba but like you said, but it ended up being closer to 5k so I decided to go this route
Only a 40mph top speed. I wouldn't buy a single 3000w motor e-bike let alone "motorcycle". You would get more speed and better range off a gallon of gas on a 100cc moped, 140mpg and 50mph. I don't see a market for this as anything more than a novelty for people who have more than a few kinds of 2 wheeled conveyance.
Top speeds currently 50mph, and i can see why you would think that. The truth is, it doesn't make sense... but its fun!
@TylersTrailRides guess he doesn't know you can go 85mph on that 3000 watt motor. Congrats on getting more views on your video than I did enlightening the whole world but I guess I'm missing that certain something. It's OK tho I've definitely came to realize RUclips is American as Apple pie.
I just brought one myself to tell you the truth I'm loving it I'm about to make a video also I would like to touch bases with you if you don't mind
you better hurry, by February the price of anything coming from china is most likely going to double, if it's still going to be available at all ...
damn...this thing is not saled in China now🤣🤣its too old
No thanks.
Batteries still suck.
It's cool I guess, but my Honda Navi is faster and has unlimited range and cost me 1400$.
I personally prefer the Grom to the Navi, and this bike isn't staying stock. Plus its not about being the best bike, I just like projects!
@TylersTrailRides me too. I was just looking for something cheap to get me back into riding and used to being on the streets again before I move to something bigger.
Sub’d
Please the music sucks it’s so annoying bro
I make the music and like it, so I'll use it as much as I want in my videos
Why you say your newest project you bought it. You didn’t build anything just a noob
This is episode one of upgrading it, go check out the series
Please lose the elevator music
I don't know. You have to give your email and phone number just to view their products on their website. That's way too intrusive.
I didn't have to do that
