i was at this game. when john booty made this pick i never heard the vet so loud. it was electric, it coursed through your body...id never felt anything like it before or since. even when earnest byner fumbled and ben smith returned it for a pick 6 in a playoff game a few years before.... john bootys int was louder. ill never forget this night.
I remember this game like it was yesterday. It was probably one of the most hyped up regular season games in eagles history. Looking back on it the cowboys were so much more well balanced, coached and talented but I don’t think anyone was beating the eagles that night.
Sorry, I had to re-post this video due to some copyright claims. The original edit didn't take, but at least the game is all here now. However, all the old comments have been lost.
Thanks for posting this. I’m a Cowboys fan and while I know we lost this game it’s a great reminder of the what they overcame and achieved that year. Philly had a really good team and we managed to get over that hurdle. I also appreciate the old commercials, too! :)
I was at this game and I have never felt the Vets shake like that. One of the most electric atmospheres I’ve ever been at and I was an Eagles season ticket holder for 15 years.
This really was the last time that the Eagles dominated the Cowboys until 2000 when Andy Reid and Donovan McNabb got it together. The Cowboys would end up beating the Eagles, the next eight of the nine meeting, including two divisional playoff games.
Philly sports radio legend Angelo Cataldi mentions some shenanigans that went on outside the Vet before this game took place in his recent autobiography. I won't spoil for it for those who haven't read it, but let's just say I had to to look this game up to see for see for myself if the fans were as amped up as he said on that night. I wasn't disappointed.
GANG GREEN BABY....my favorite Eagles game of all time...Loved this Green defense..They were AWESOME 91 and 92 Seasons..Loved seeing them waxing the cowboys ASS...LOVED when this D would turn into a Frienzy...WOW..they would CLOBBER your ass..Take no prisoners....
Dallas' won-loss records during their four years of success were always very good, but never on the lines of 14-2 or 15-1, as other teams managed. When everything was on the line, though, they were money, with only one loss that mattered.
This entire Eagles team the Buddy Ryan built were bruising, big and fast on defense and offense. Buddy Ryan should have hired a decent OC instead of Creating an U.S. vs. them with the defense and offense.
The 49ers have not won a home game against Dallas since 1997. A good way to help end that drought would be to wear white at home next time the Cowboys are in town.
This game pretty much summed it up, one day Eagles were world beaters next day they were pathetic, the game after this they lost to lowly Chiefs. Inconsistency was the norm for Eagles...
Dallas was going up and the rest of the nfc east was in its way down, Reggie and many eagles would be gone the next season .LT would only play until 1993 and the redskins would lose Joe Gibbs to retirement after the 92 season ,plus no salary cap .
After this ass-whipping of Dallas, the undefeated Eagles were arguably the best team in the NFL. Then they mysteriously went down-hill, losing five of their next eight games.
@@johnsmith-mk3zq Without question he was. We all knew it. He knew we knew he was juicing. Great guy. My guess is half or more in the NFL at that time were juicing.
This butt whipping made it clear we (Dallas) had a few more weeks before we were ready to smack a talented rival like Philadelphia back in the face. Finally, in the eighth game of the year and the first postseason game, we were ready to start our reign as the new “Beasts of the East”.
As nauseating as this loss was for Cowboy fans, it was the kind of loss/slap upside the head which is useful for a team aspiring to the Super Bowl, a warning not to get complacent with all the publicity around you. Meeting Philly again a few weeks down the road, Dallas was ready and hungry, winning a clear cut 20-10 game, then getting even better in the playoff victory, 34-10. I suspect this win was the best game the Eagles played all season, their Super Bowl in a way. MNF, combined with one's home field, will do that, bringing out the best in players. Combine that with Philly's historic hatred of Dallas, and the door was open for a big victory.
even on a playoff loss, the players stood up tall with chins up and accepted it like a man Nowadays, everyones all slunched over looking depressed lmao
Put ben Smith at left corner Jerome back at d tackle and vision Hopkins and waters not injured and playing in that divisional playoff game 15-9 eagles over cowboys 8 turnovers 5 by the boys and 3 by the birds cowboys turnovers lead to 9 points thers no way you go from beating a team 24-0 letting up 90 total yards to letting up 366 losing 34-10 unless something dramatic happens
While I think the Cowboys should be in the NFC South now, admittedly the cultural differences between Texas and the Northeast megaopolis make the current NFC East entertaining to some extent
What a pleasure to watch real football again!! I miss this game. What we have today is a joke

Thanks for posting this, Colonel. I'll never forget as a kid watching this game with my Dad.

Back when Monday Night Football was something to look forward to.
I still look forward to it
@@INYB Why? So SJW scumbags can disrespect our country and play two hand touch? Go to sleep, your government loves you.
Yeah back then we loved Sunday football but Monday night football after mcguyver was like waiting for a mini Superbowl every week .
The voices and the music make u remember when you were still young watching this. Good memories . 💯💯

The main thing wrong with this Eagles team is the Rich Kotite was the head coach. He was owner, Norman Braman’s lap dog. 🦅
Greatest MNF intro of all time
I remember watching this game thinking the Eagles would be in the Super Bowl and nobody would get in their way.
I was at this game. The next night I was on Letterman when they played “Let’s Look for Swedes.”
That hit by heath Sherman at 15:58, you'll never see that in today's NFL which is dead to me.

Yeah if Jerome hadn't passed and the key injuries to Hopkins waters heller not to mention ben Smith it would have been the year
Yo Eric Allen's black and lime green Mizumo gloves r bad ass 💯
Great game
So, which would you rather have? Frito pie or Philly cheesesteak?
Ah them were the days.

Do you have the two Eagles NYG games from 1991?
I'm Sorry, I do not. With a few exceptions, I didn't start saving Eagles games until 1992.
How do you find and update these games
This game pretty much summed it up, one day Eagles were world beaters next day they were pathetic, the game after this they lost to lowly Chiefs. Inconsistency was the norm for Eagles...

Thanks my friend. Do you have any more 96 Eagle games your gonna upload? Wins that is?
Yes I do. Most of them. The only one I can't locate right now is the Cardinals win at the end of the season. I'll be uploading some of them soon.
@@colonelhogan2700 ok thanks for the update. Keep them coming cause I love them.

Two words…. Rich Kotite
Rich kotite was ass cheeks as a coach..his west offense did fit Randall's skill set... couldn't stand his ass
That Leslie Nielson commercial lmao
2:15:44 R.I.P Alex Trebek
I played with Harmon #91 at Kent st. He was a 215lbs outside LB. 2 years later he's 275lbs DT and faster. How do you suppose that happened?
What you saying he was jucing up?

Spinach?
I regret that Frank and Al and Dan did not get to call a 49ers-Cowboys game together
Erik Williams and Reggie White nice battle ...

Back when you could actually play defense.
Damn Jimmy Johnson did not care, lol play to the end
The last time the Eagles really destroyed Dallas on Monday night if I'm correct.
The 2004 Freddie Mitchell - McNabb escape catch game was a pretty bad ass kicking too 49-21

I remember this game Troy had a bad game but would redeem himself as the season went on... Cowboys fan since 85'
I was scared walking in - it was nuts.
