Do you think these plays would work the same with a TE on the line with a hand in the ground? Drawing them up with a TE on the line I dont see a huge difference, a few tweaks here and there. Glad you got to see coach Randy Jackson in the Dallas area, Ive met him before... great man!
Coach MrAUFANATIC, Thanks for watching my video and for leaving a comment. It means a lot to me that you do that. That's where I got the play from. I always say to steal from the best.
What are the advantages of an h back over a tight end. It seems like they have the same blocking ability only tight ends are more readily usable in the passing game? Can anyone explain
Coach McKie How do you deal with a-gap pressure. For example, if the PSLB blitzes A gap, would the center peel off the double to take him? Would the the RB bounce to the opp A gap? Love the vids! Coach Allard
Coach, love what you're doing here on youtube and on your website. I want to ask a question. When that alley defender to the field creeps into the box and gives you the Key Screen read, do you have your Qb just catch and throw or do you still have him fake to the RB as that would involve some complicated footwork.
+Francis Amar Coach, Thanks for watching my videos. It means a lot to me that you take time out of your day to watch them. We have done it both ways. It depends on your quarterback. If he is comfortable turning and throwing it turn do that. If he likes riding and reading the DE, then throwing it based off of that then do it that way. Remember, do whatever the QB is comfortable with and toy will be successful.
Just curious what software Coach McKie uses for illustrating these videos? It seems like a really nice program and I would like to know what it is as I am looking for one to use next season. Thanks for any info!
Do you run anything besides the Air Raid Offense stuff? I like the Air Raid, except our system is a bit better in that we have concepts that split theory vs split coverage. Like we will attack a cover two by smash in the boundary and attack vertical into the field or attack the cover three or cover four with seams and safety split routes.
@@CoachMcKie I agree with you on that. Air Raid is a great Offense. The thing that you know about football is it's not even close to one size fits all. I am in a position to have a passing academy and be able to work with my QBs and WRs all year round. Though we don't run all our concepts as I also coach about 70%of our opponent QBs and I don't want to work a lot of complex concepts when working on throwing mechanics, fundamentals, drop principles and decision making. We do Offensive installs year round during PE class and lift weights after school. It's not something all coaches have.
Good stuff. Baylor runs a ton of that post RPO off of their split zone look. We played with it but didn't hit one in a game this year. Looking forward to connecting on it next season.
You're right. Baylor is where I got the idea from. Clemson also runs this from time to time. I called it a couple of times throughout the season but it never connected. This year I'm going to be more focused on repping the heck out of it and use it as a replacement to our play action stuff.
Very well explained and love the simplicity of the safety read. Quick question, on your RPOs how do you not get called for illegal men downfield all the time especially if a lineman releases straight onto second level? As the plays look good but I'm just wary of running them for this reason
Thanks Coach, And thanks for taking the time out to watch my video. It means a lot. I've found that since the H-back is the one pulling that we don't get any illegal men downfield penalties. We've only gotten one in two years and it was because the QB took to long on his read. We do stress to our OL that they are to stay on the double team until the LB triggers. That helps with them not getting up the field that fast.
Another great video.

The last play you showed was actually the game time tying touchdown for Auburn to tie it 28-28 vs Alabama in 2013 kick six. That play is sick!

With a H back you can now add another gap to BOTH sides of the line.
@@CoachMcKie thanks for the help coach
I am enjoying your videos Coach. Keep em coming!
+smith john Thanks for the kind words coach. And thanks for taking time out of your day to watch my videos.
Is that common for you to see two high safeties in three wide sets in high school ball?
Yes sir. Especially if you have a running QB
Coach McKie

+Midlakes Football The center would pick him up since it is his gap. Thanks for the complement coach.

Do you have an example vs. a 5-2 front? Thanks for the vids. Excellent teaching tool.
May I ask, what kinda internet page are you using to draw the plays. The one you used in the video ?
I'm using Hudl. They have a playbook feature. It's pretty good.

Sorry coach. I run mostly Air Raid stuff. I find it has answers for 80 to 90% of what defenses do.

How often do you get illegal man downfield? How do you prevent
1 time in 4 years.
What is the website/software you use?

McKie provide live game video of these RPO’s
I’ll try
I'm seeing Oklahoma and Baylor
